  1. Disgraceful performance. No passion, no leadership, no creativity, no energy, no plan, no effort. No idea! Apart from that it went quite well! Automatic promo? You're having a laugh. More days like this and we won't make the play-offs.
  2. Surprised Fraser gets the nod over Charly. Not for me but we have three games this week so makes some sort of logic at least in Russ World
  3. Those signed photos of Rupert were not huge sellers either so probably lots of those in there as well.
  4. We all do it, these people are so well known to us through TV and on the pitch that when we bump into them in real life instinctively we feel we know them personally. No need to be embarrassed, I suspect he was thrilled to be recognised. Most will have had these sort of 'meetings' with personalities. You should have sorted through his cast offs, could have been some good stuff there especially if he is clearing out his UK base.
  5. That's right; dear old Saint Russ has this old fashioned idea that it is important for fans to have at least one local lad in the team. In reality Smallbone gets more stick from fans - certainly on here - than any of the incomers except perhaps for Manning and Adams
  6. I hate Alexander Armstrong. Any programme on TV or Radio where he makes an appearance goes straight off.
  7. Now that we are getting used to winning again let's hope complacency doesn't start to set in. We have to be in this for the long haul as there is no sign yet of the three above us faltering. It's a must win but we're still not convincing enough in our performances to guarantee it. I fear a 1-1 draw is on the cards with the disruption caused by players' being away on national duties
  8. Even if he doesn't play for us again, I'll bet his presence around the training ground will be massively beneficial from his work ethic and keadeshiiop qualities. A tremendous example to the youngsters and somebody they can look up to. Great to see him training with the first team squad
  9. If I may venture a comment dear sir, that is utter Rollocks. He was immense last night fr a kid of 18 years. We managed to trawl the Man City academy for four future stars so how come we missed out on Lewis at LB. Just the guy we need right now. Time to persuade the lad that he has no future at Man City.
  10. We need to tread carefully with this guy, I know its only NI but if he isn't getting regular first team football at Saints he'll want out sooner or later especially if his performances begin to attract attention.
  11. It goes much deeper that that. Without Bellingham & Kane we are clueless and if either of these guys is injured next summer we can kiss goodbye to any hope of winning the trophy.
  12. One lesson life teaches you is that you only miss and value people when they are no longer with us.
  13. That's a fairly bold statement. The only similarities that I can see is that he is English and has played for Man City. Suppose he turns out to be as good as you hope, do you think seriously that City would let him go?
  14. I cycled to the Walton & Hersham match but admittedly not from here. Was at Uni at the time. Etched in my memory.
  15. Isn't Lionel Messi 36 or 37, doesn't seem to be past it just yet.
  16. Frankly this is a load of conspiratorial tosh.
  17. Not at all romantic. Why would he be here if the powers that be hadn't thought it through and concluded that he might be able to help us. If he's fit enough and fast enough he'll be good enough for this Division. Premier League it is not.
  18. Having Maya back around the place has cheered me up no end. I absolutely love the guy, no if's no but's for me he is a Saints legend. Would be amazing if he was fit enough and fast enough to play again. Always thought he might come back one day as a coach. He seems to get on well with Saint Russ which can't be a bad thing. A bit of Japanese Kando is needed here.
  19. The quicker we invent time travel the better then all these people obsessed with predictive stats can nip into the future for five minutes and find out what really happened. For me the excitement and expectation of not knowing is the whole point of watching.
  20. Nothing wrong with Huddersfield, huge amount of money being invested there in new infrastructure and commercial buildings. A transformation of the town is underway similar to what we have seen in Southampton these past twenty years. Huddersfield becoming unrecognisable from the days of dark satanic mills. Not so grim up North as Southerners are led to believe. Not sure about the 'University' though. York it ain't!
  21. I was glad to see the back of him. He wasn't particularly creative in midfield yet for some reason recent managers seem to insist on a style of play that constantly fed the ball to him in every move forward. We ended up being relegated unsurprisingly. He's a million miles away from being good enough for the current England team.
  22. Leicester slipping but Ipswich look unstoppable. We'll probably have to beat WBA in the playoffs and on today's showing that's not a guaranteed win.
  23. Another Ricky Lambert or another Che Adams?
  24. With Preston winning last night this must be an essential win.
