Sounds like personal greed figures bigger in this lad's mind and in that of his agent than any thought about who he might be playing for. My reaction is that we are better off without people like him. We don't need a rotten apple in our dressing room, the team sprit here has been forged over the last four years and is worth far more to us than any transient money grubbing club-hopper. The kids 18 for goodness sake what does he expect? I suppose he feels that because one 17 year old has made the first team so should all the others but it is unrealistic as the other kid is exceptional by any yardstick. The Academy has such a good reputation that we should think of it as one would a prestigious university. Everyone wants to come here because they think they'll get a superb football education and a decent real education at the same time. Does not mean they intend to be a Saint or indeed ever put on a Saints shirt. Once they've graduated many will be off to the highest bidder like that little mercenary who now plays for Wenger & Hodgson. I just don't buy in to a "Lancashire lad" wanting to play for Saints.
