  1. So what happens if none of Pochettino's targets want to come here and he realises at last that we are not such a BIG team as he thought we were? Will he clear off as well? Just a thought; it would derail Cortese ambitious plans as well....
  2. Sounds like personal greed figures bigger in this lad's mind and in that of his agent than any thought about who he might be playing for. My reaction is that we are better off without people like him. We don't need a rotten apple in our dressing room, the team sprit here has been forged over the last four years and is worth far more to us than any transient money grubbing club-hopper. Sigh of relief. I hope it's all over.
  3. You mean Just give him £200k a week and get on with the football?
  4. Do you mean that None of them signed?
  5. Shooting instead of shouting aye, what's in a letter?
  6. No excuses this year with only two really tricky games in the first dozen. Surely we can do better than last time?
  7. Just pay up front and get it over with. I'd rather have one kick in the whatnots rather than one every month.
  8. Perhaps you don't pay your instalments on time?
  9. I can and they will go up!
  10. The kids 18 for goodness sake what does he expect? I suppose he feels that because one 17 year old has made the first team so should all the others but it is unrealistic as the other kid is exceptional by any yardstick. Learn your craft slowly and carefully lad, the rewards will surely follow. Patience is indeed a virtue
  11. Latest I've heard around town is that he will soon be 18 so no more of this 17 year old boy wonder stuff. He'll be a Man and probably too old for transfer speculation, after all who wants a washed up has been ;-)
  12. Just been to the ticket office.. amazing how speedily and painlessly they extracted £730 from my wallet. Took all of 3 minutes. What if they bugger off and don't leave a forwarding address?
  13. The Academy has such a good reputation that we should think of it as one would a prestigious university. Everyone wants to come here because they think they'll get a superb football education and a decent real education at the same time. Does not mean they intend to be a Saint or indeed ever put on a Saints shirt. Once they've graduated many will be off to the highest bidder like that little mercenary who now plays for Wenger & Hodgson. I just don't buy in to a "Lancashire lad" wanting to play for Saints. ManU, yes; ManC, yes; Liverpool, yes; Everton, maybe... Saints? Oh come off it, pull the other one!
  14. How dare you, sir! The rest of us have had the electrode treatment so there is no past... no present, no future. We just turn up get mugged and go home, turn up get mugged, go home... it's the Southampton way, always was always will be. Hands up anybody who's ever had a freebie out of this club, well OK but they'll find a way of charging us for that soon. Do you remember old er Ad.. dle? What happened to him?
  15. Bang on! Bet we're paying for it, too.
  16. Well, he's no Messi that's for sure or Suarez or Aguero. Maybe more of a Defoe. At least he has some pace and hopefully will find the knack of hitting the target one day soon. This will be his make-or-break season, no progress by Christmas and he'll be consigned to the nPC
  17. We already have Eterna so no room for Swatch
  18. He's French, his mum's French, his dad's French so he plays for France you dumbo! What's difficult about that?
  19. Why not? Plenty of folk from Southampton shop in Gunwharf Quay. My car resplendent with Saints badge has been OK down there these last 10 years, which rather suggests that few down there give a stuff about all this rivalry crap that seems to turn people like you on.
  20. No. Three lines is the Adidas brand signature.
  21. Thanks Ron for all those wonderful memories at The Dell. We will never forget you.
  22. Nestle are the obvious Swiss conglomerate so any of their subsidiary activities with the exception of confectionary would be OK legally but no F1 link that we know of.
  23. Alcohol companies cannot sponsor sports clubs that attract young people, it's the law!
  24. 'Twas me folks... but it was only a guess putting two and two together. Wasn't trying to start off an unofficial rumour. My track record for getting things right as afr as saints are concerned is Zilch!
