Post Match Reaction & MotM: SAINTS 2-0 Crystal Palace
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Let the good times roll, we'll have wrapped it up by Christmas -
Am I the only one who thinks we'll win the league?

Let's be honest, nobody is scoring from open play. Only our centre backs from set pieces have managed anything worth remembering with the odd pen making up our class leading goal tally. Probaly be another Bore draw on Saturday 0-0 most likely, with 1-1 just possible if we really kick on.

Second season syndrome. Having survived the drop everyone now knows that most of the league is dross and no better than us so who cares enough about Palace to splash nigh on £50 just to watch Holloway playing the fool to the cameras, we'd have as much fun watching Bury or Crewe. Even ManUre without that miserable old Scottish git in charge may not seem so attractive anymore.

Yeah but he was an arrogant sh!t WITH a Ferrari

Not there - couldn't be bothered - a rip-off too far - I can watch dross any Sunday at our local rec... take your pic -
Is football now sterile one sided and boring?
Charlie Wayman replied to Barry Sanchez's topic in The Saints
The flaw in your argument is that without the top six clubs the football league would be meaningless and nobody would want to watch it. We must hope that they do not leave the league because it is only the promise of the David and Goliath fight that keeps the fans coming. -
Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 0-0 West Ham

We are as one on this as they say! -
Excellent. Probably be gone to Arsenal / Chelsea next summer if we don't progress. Want to see him with Yoshida, too similar to Fonte.

Very disappointing. Lambert clearly has improved since he's been way with England which is a bit worrying. How good is he because the truth might be that we don't get the best out of him so he might be very goos indeed. The fact that he improves at every level he plays in suggests he might actually be world class in the right surroundings. Just possible he would do better at Barcelona with much better people around him. We failed because WHU close marked Morgan and Wanyama almost out of the game so they couldn't get anything going from the midfield. Football ought to be about more than neutralising your opponents so why not NO points for a 0-0 draw? Would stop the likes of Big Hoofs Allardyce in his tracks. -
It may be more entertaining than the stuff being served up at SMS tomorrow
-
My guess is that Yoshida, Chambers & Ward-Prowse will start; Rodrigues, Clyne and Ramirez will not. Saints will win 3-2 coming from 2-1 down in the first half. Clyne is out of favour for some reason we don't know.

So what, not many were brought in to be Premiership players particularly. They were good enough for us at the times when they were brought in, events overtook them and it is not fair to imply what you are implying at all, that these players didn't step up to the plate or that transfer judgement in Adkins' time was flawed.
-
Ricky is one player who will be very genuinely mourned once he hangs up his boots. Whenever that far off time might be I for one would love him to be part of the permanent staff here at SMS or Staplewood. Not obviously coaching material a la Davies but hosting or something on the PR side. For now 'though just give us another 100 goals to enjoy.

Osvaldo forced to move and happy with his choice!
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint86's topic in The Saints
You seem to be devoid of imagination old chum, we have the best sailing in the world bar none at Cowes and and the finest wilderness space in Europe in the New Forest that draws visitors from all over Europe just to enjoy the space, hiking, camping, fishing, riding, cycling.... and parking is free. If your existence and imagination are shaped solely by being entertained by others then I pity you but Liverpool over Southampton as a place to live? -
Polish keeper to deny England, 40 years on??
Charlie Wayman replied to fanimal's topic in The Saints
About the same as Boruc then? -
I suppose the conclusion must be that all of them will be knackered on Sunday and West Ham will roll us over.
-
Yeah, good enough for Roy but will he be good enough for Pochettino on Sunday? I mean for starters he won't be able to grow a pony tail in time... We'll love him even more after tonight, good job the transfer window's closed or we'd have Wenger & Moyes sniffing around. Good luck Ricky. Come on you Saint!

Idiots are always best ignored, like fractious small children. We've got Ricky Lambert they haven't and he doesn't bite other players.
-
So you were not best pleased either. Maybe that's the explanation. Which parts of the ground will be open? I know from the past that that the corporate guests used to get priority on parts of the Itchen. I can't imagine it will attract more than 7/8k.

Well F me! The website clearly states STs have a week or so to buy their tickets, so fresh back from holiday I ring in... only to be told MY seat is not available as it had already been sold! F me! I told them very angrily how I felt and what they could do with their options and unfortunately my choice of language was not of the best. I'm not asking fir sympathy only to let other STs know the situation. What The F is wrong with this club? What happened to loyalty to the many fans like me who stayed with them throughout the bad years watching all the useless tin pot friendlies and competitions they entered when grounds were nigh-on empty etc etc?

Mindless moron

Can we accommodate SRL & Osvaldo in the same team?
Charlie Wayman replied to doggface's topic in The Saints
Yes & No. Osvaldo is about "showboating" and "look at me", Lambo is about "Team" and "Pride". Provided Lambo does the graft and assisting, Odsvaldo might get the odd goal here and there but don't expect Osvaldo to do any team work or grafting to assist Lambo. -
The Times had Ricky as undisputed "Man of the Match" so did I. A goal, two world class assists and a sunny positive disposition that makes you proud of any team he is in. Two games for Hodgson, two great goals and MotM second time out on his first full start. Meanwhile The Pocket Rocket can't get the best out of the star strikers he's already got so buys a washed up Italian for £15m who doesn't even want to be here... You couldn't make it up.
