  1. “I’ll always love the Club and I just want to keep progressing with the Club. I just hope we can make strides forward in the summer and just keep going from step-to-step and doing well.” Read more at http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/07052014-adam-lallana-fpots-award-1540882.aspx#7c31PrrZOY3ToTR1.99
  2. Just suppose we fielded 11 English players all good enough to play for England, would Hodgson have the bottle to pick a whole England team from just one club? Just asking. If that is RK's vision I'll have £7.50 worth.
  3. For the first time in years there will be nothing special about a visit of Man U, now a team of fading sometime stars and relatively unknown journeymen. With van Persie on his way to St Mary's the only high spot might be how he compares with Lambert who may have to make way for him. 4-1 to Saints seems a good bet if our A team shows up. Historians will appreciate seeing Giggs in a manure shirt for the last time but he will be best advised not to give up his day job too soon as predictions of his rise to Manager are premature and wide of the mark. A season or two at Wrexham beckons.
  4. Have we ever had a really great player that we signed on from elsewhere and didn't develop in-house? Keegan maybe, Wayman from far back... not many other than that.
  5. In the old days nobody gave a stuff about who turned out for Saints so long as they wore red and white stripes and there was one hero to idolise, Charley Wayman, Eric Day, Terry Paine, Ron Davies, Mike Channon.....
  6. I doubt it but if Roy Hodgson buys next season's ST then Lallana will definitely stay.
  7. It's all made up by the UKIP party to wind us up.
  8. Looks like England have a new captain...
  9. You know you can't say that and the mods know so why aren't they doing their job and censuring you for racism?
  10. Always one party pooper! You must be miserable when things go well.
  11. Wonderful stuff, everyone on form, a joy to watch. Best game of the season by miles.
  12. **** Me, there's always one moron who cannot understand or will knot understand the spoken word. It's what he DIOD say that matters you dope!
  13. Read why the man said. Can't you just accept that and shut up about Shaw?
  14. Great to have such a thoughtful input. Maybe you should take a hike as you obviously have nothing useful or remotely intelligent to contribute.
  15. Be fair chaps, many 'available' players will hold out until after the FIFA WC Final in the hope that they will star and catch the eye of the really BIG teams of the world so no way they will sign early for minnows Saints just to suit our local agenda for hanging on to players and manager. We're shafted on this as well. I remain optimistic that all will end well but heaven knows why?
  16. ...but you had the other view yesterday that we are hobbled on spending by the Financial Fair Play rules and will not be allowed to sign Big Money players. It seems we are shafted one way or tother.
  17. This will no doubt be another Snore draw but the money's been paid so we must endure. Roll on next season although if there is a serious exodus in the summer, it may well be time for me to call time on ST purchase. It's all on the internet in HD nowadays anyway so who needs to fork out over £700 to watch?
  18. +1 The OP is an idiot.
  19. and the music goes on... and on... and on!
  20. Just frustrated by our predictability at the moment. Expectations always too high I suppose.

    Clyne

Clyne did a brilliant defensive job. Better than chambers who was poor last week.
  22. Lambert past it, Lallana knackered, Shaw grandstanding for an England place, no cohesion going forward, aimless crosses into the box, we're all over the place at the moment.
  23. They will push it until the pips squeak that's how capitalism football works. If you, I or Johnny falls by the wayside there'll be plenty of others willing to take our seats... or at least that's the mentality amongst our modern economic strategists. £30 doesn't sound a lot but its a night out with the wee lass at the local Curry house down the tubes and you can't measure the fall out from that in league position or points total!
  24. Are you sure you read that correctly?
  25. The OP's stats highlights what many must be feeling at the end of a season that seemed to promise much more than has been delivered. Something clearly is missing from our system of play and whilst it is extremely attractive and exciting in execution more often than not there is no end product delivered to justify it all. Domination on the scale we saw on Saturday is of scant consequence if a silly defensive error consigns us to yet another avoidable defeat. It is difficult for supporters not to react to such outcomes with failing confidence as time wears on and already - as on Saturday - there were murmurings along the terraces of the almost inevitability that we would give away a silly goal and lose the match 1-0 as by half-time most had realised that we would never score against a packed 10 man defence using our intricate but sadly imperfect lock picking skills rather than head for the by-line and turn their defence. Maybe we are just not good enough mentally or tactically to change our play to suit the circumstances which does seem rather odd after all these years together and the coaches have to pick that one up when it comes to responsibility. Certainly we have progressed this year as our league position and points tally will attest but there is also an increasing sense that this team as it stands may have peaked and without the infusion of new match reading skills from some special talents this may be as good as it gets. Otherwise even with the hope that we retain all of our players over the summer, this team may struggle next season as our pattern of play is better understood and countered effectively by the other 19 clubs. If Cardiff can do it they all can do it, that's what worries.
