Don't give up the day job. Also, suggest you lie down in a quiet dark room for a while.

That's a pretty pessimistic view of things. Surely the club would only sanction players to break contracts if it suits ten and the money is deemed essential for improving the squad, one maybe two might want out strongly enough for the club to realise there is no point in holding them against their will but Suarez was forced to stay at Liverpool and subsequently played well for them. Unlike you I have yet to renew. If a mass exodus was really to occur then of course I would not renew and there will be many of similar ilk.

MP has stated consistently that he has one year left on his contract and is not concerned that a new deal has not being hastened. Two years probably suited everyone at the time of his arrival as both sides were unknown quantities to the other. If he honours that contract and we have no reason to suppose that he won't then he'll be here for one more year and it may still suit both sides to leave it that way. MP's stock is growing but not yet assured after only one season in the PL, if the success continues he will be in much greater demand from genuinely BIG international clubs but if everything stalls - as at Swansea - then we might want to move on. So doing nothing now actually may not be a bad option all round. If greater success does follow current success the chances are he may actually want to commit his future to us anyway without prompting.

Cortese speaking to BBC for first time since leaving Saints
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
I doubt Southampton is important enough for that. His connection with the club was probably limited to his involvement with Marcus Liebherr. If so, why would he want to be here now as an alternative to the Liebherr's? Did you ever hear a single comment from him about the area being a nice place to live in? The world sadly is a much bigger place than Southampton and people such as Cortese like all high rollers are attracted by money, bright lights and glamour. After all everyone is trying to impress or suck up to somebody. More likely his interview was intended as an Epitaph on his time here to draw a final line under his tenure and connections. Ultimately the lure for something better will always be there for those able to make that step through talent or determination. Living in a backwater is for small fish. -
It's all part of the game! No club has been given permission to talk to our players so it is illegal for them to approach individuals so obviously there have been no official discussions involving Luke Shaw or anybody else. Thus the Big clubs must resort to unsettling players by using their pals in the press to write speculative rubbish and always note that every article has a cop out clause which the press can cling to should they be challenged legally. What a pity we don't seem to have many friends in the press after Cortese's toys throwing tantrums. Even The Southern Echo is not entirely back in the fold so hardly a suitable ally to take the fight back to Fleet Street and the BBC just plain don't like us and as their sport set up is now based in Manchester thee isn't much prospect of that changing anytime soon. All I can say is that I hope and trust that our kids have developed some maturity of mind along with their excellent football and physical condition and are able to keep a cool head and see out this media storm. We should also hope and pray that they are getting some good advice from within the club and from Roy and his Rovers. We will be fine as long as they can still tell the difference between all this self-seeking ballsh.it and honest sincerity. Mind you there isn't much of the latter on offer in professional football especially of the money-soaked Premier league is concerned. The lads should bear this ion mind - as good as they are now, they will become squad players elsewhere, rarely getting a start or 90 mins and a surefire way of slipping into mediocrity and anonymity in very short order. If then they cannot deliver as well, Sh.it Creek will soon be an unwanted destination for their future careers.

Pretty tough opposition, would have though Suarez would win at a canter although Aaron Ramsey has also excelled. Still, heart over head so Adam it will be.

Or perhaps, bearing in mind the number of Academy boys that have been released this year without being offered professional terms, they were not all that good and more suited to the old English long ball game? Blackmore suggested this action is not linked to Pochettino but surely they would have reported indirectly to him as head coach & manager. If he decided a change at grass roots level was needed to ensure the flow of youthful talents like Shaw then he would have had a say. Right now the Academy's reputation is on an all time high so what better time to attract the best kids in the country and therefore the best coaches to develop them. Clearing the decks in this way may indicate MP getting things going his way and so a good chance of staying, the lack of urgency in any announcement about his whereabouts next year on the other hand suggests the opposite although there will come a time when he will be forced to decide either by us to ensure our pre-season integrity or by another club for their pre-season integrity. MP arriving at Spurs for example with only a couple of weeks left before the season starts at beginning of August would not really work for them any more that having to find and imbed a new manager in July will not work for us. There's just a chance that MP is awaiting my decision on whether to renew my ST before he decides o stay on. This is a bit of a cat and mouse game as I am waiting for him!

1. Yes 2. Not applicable 3. 1 Guly do Prado 4. 0

Amazing really, the Scousers finish 2nd but still want to buy half the team finishing only 8th. Sounds like looney land up there to me.
-
Sad to see him go but no sentiment in modern football especially in the Premiercrap League
-
Anything with more than four letter words or a verb will be taxing for the Northam, refs being an exception!
-
It rather assumes that we know why the Academy has been successful whereas it could all be just good fortune and luck. Cat in a bag? Or, Cat in a box? Open enough oysters and you'll likely find a pearl. I'm all for marketing bulls.h.it for the highest price you can get. BBB has been a successful maxim for more years than I care to remember

Morgan Called Up for France WC Squad (Official)
Charlie Wayman replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Absolutely fantastique! This gives me as much pleasure as the inclusion of our golden trio in the England squad. -
Brilliant.

Horse droppings, nothing more nothing less. Total Ballacks in fact!

Who are you then, the font of all knowledge or just a village idiot? Your views are irrelevant.

Saints 1 Manchester Utd 1 - Post Match Reaction
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Clear handball by Vidic denied us the win we deserved. Ref as usual in awe of ManCrap and gave them far to much from the start. Fed up with useless bloody refs and their biased attitude towards the BIG teams. -
Saints 1 Manchester Utd 1 - Post Match Reaction
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Waste of bloody money. Couldn't they wait until Monday to go on holiday? -
We should keep him for the nation not allow him to leave the country. Somebody must come up with the money to keep him here. Does anybody really want to live in Liverpool? I thought the Ferry across the Mersey was a refugee escape route.

Talk about evasive tactics. Can't imagine Big Sam would fart about like this, he 'd say either " I'm buggering off cos all the fans are Mongs" or "Of course I'm staying what kind of daft bloody question is that?" Precious or what? They talk about player celebrations being narcissistic!

“I’ll always love the Club and I just want to keep progressing with the Club. I just hope we can make strides forward in the summer and just keep going from step-to-step and doing well.” Read more at http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/07052014-adam-lallana-fpots-award-1540882.aspx#7c31PrrZOY3ToTR1.99

Just suppose we fielded 11 English players all good enough to play for England, would Hodgson have the bottle to pick a whole England team from just one club? Just asking. If that is RK's vision I'll have £7.50 worth.

For the first time in years there will be nothing special about a visit of Man U, now a team of fading sometime stars and relatively unknown journeymen. With van Persie on his way to St Mary's the only high spot might be how he compares with Lambert who may have to make way for him. 4-1 to Saints seems a good bet if our A team shows up. Historians will appreciate seeing Giggs in a manure shirt for the last time but he will be best advised not to give up his day job too soon as predictions of his rise to Manager are premature and wide of the mark. A season or two at Wrexham beckons.

Have we ever had a really great player that we signed on from elsewhere and didn't develop in-house? Keegan maybe, Wayman from far back... not many other than that.

In the old days nobody gave a stuff about who turned out for Saints so long as they wore red and white stripes and there was one hero to idolise, Charley Wayman, Eric Day, Terry Paine, Ron Davies, Mike Channon.....
