Morgan's head gone- Update: It has been re-attached
Charlie Wayman replied to Chez's topic in The Saints
We don't know that for fact do we? For all we know he could be a wimp talking tough to the press but soft as candy in one-on-one relationships. Why wasn't he out there on Saturday otherwise? -
Morgan's head gone- Update: It has been re-attached
Charlie Wayman replied to Chez's topic in The Saints
Wouldn't have thought so, far too fanciful. Fan pressure, what the heck is that when it's at home? Which world are you living in? Reality is he's done one hell of a long stint for Saints in all divisions through thick and thin and probably felt that there was no more he could give or gain by hanging around here for much longer. He is after all a French ex-pat in a foreign country and probably fancies a change of view as much as anything else. Of course money is important but if that were the only issue, as it was for that greedy pair of recently departed badge kissing barstewards then surely we could find the few bob extra to keep him here, after all he's never struck me as somebody in for the main chance. The timing is unfortunate indeed both for Morgan and the Club, especially as he is so much loved at SMS and nobody wants him to go. -
Good sensible post and very realistic considering all that has happened here over the last few weeks. My only point to add is that it seems highly improbable we'll ever see Schneiderlin in a Saints shirt again and Les's problem will be securing the £27m from the Yobo's and far more importantly sneaking it past us transfer weary fans without sparking a riot. Mind you the way that lad is behaving "get rid" may be the call from the fans soon enough.

Beats me, what in mercy's name are you talking about?

Bloody hell Simo, the season hasn't even started and you're moaning about nothing. Was the beer cold so what's your problem, you don't need to stuff your face every time you go to a football match surely? It's only 90 mins FFS.
-
Wanted to refresh this thread into today so we can heap the pressure on Les. A signing a day keeps the moaners away!

Steven Davis, captain of Northern Ireland, is not a penguin. Good news! A pity to use up one of my three a day but have you ever seen Steven Davis get in a flap? That is why a penguin he cannot be.

Morgan's head gone- Update: It has been re-attached
Charlie Wayman replied to Chez's topic in The Saints
What a load of krap, even one of his greatest fans from Day 1 finds it difficult to accept your stomach churning whinging "not ready in the head to play for Southampton". FFS Morgan, you're a bloody footballer not an brain surgeon, get your effing boots on and get out there and start kicking the ball instead of your toys out of the pram! Stick him in the development squad Ron and if he still refuses to play put him on lawn mowing duties. -
You just made that up didn't you?

What to the board need to do to gain back the trust of the fans?
Charlie Wayman replied to maysie's topic in The Saints
Totally agree. What can we do about it anyway? We didn't like Lowe, we didn't really like that misery Cortese. Back in the day we didn't like the board behind Ted Bates. -
er... Who the deck is he?

Media Predictions for the 2014/15 season
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
For starters Burnley won't go down, they are preparing very well and signed a bucket load of good players with more to come and are led by a board that actually seem fully committed to them being in the PL long term. They will probably be one of the surprise packages. Sunderland, WBA & QPR for the drop for me. Saints 16/17th -

Superb post, fully agree with you. -

Give it a rest you whinging cynical misery, we are The Saints and Ralph is doing his best to be one of us. If you don't like it sod off and support some other team. -
Amazing that he has so much free time to spend on speculation about in reality very little in life. It's the sort of stuff that optimists love to read although there is nothing tangible to support any of it.

Oh, Surprise! Surprise!

You are not alone Sevvy, on the basis that you cannot fool all the people all the time even those most susceptible to being duped into believing that there is a crock of gold at the end of a rainbow must be having private doubts by now. One thing on which the club have been repeatedly consistent is that whenever they suggest something is about to happen, invariably nothing does. The ONLY explanation is the one that people have talked about on here throughout this whole messy affair but really didn't want to believe. KL has never had any intention of using any of the fees received from player sales to buy new players simply because it WAS after all simply an asset strip and she will be gone far far away by Christmas. I can see easily that Reed & Kreuger could be part of a grand deception but the RonKo situation makes no sense except that he was duped through his apparent keenness to manage in the PL and the fact that he is a really decent bloke to boot who probably would hate the idea of walking out on the innocent players and fans that he has now connected with. It seems very unlikely indeed there will be any signings or announcements now but boy if this is indeed the case, I'd hate to be either KL, RK or LR at the WBA match. It could get very ugly indeed.

Well, the weekend has come and gone and Ron's two / three signings seem to have been the 'Will o' the Wisps' that many of us expected. Another week ahead full of hope but no surprises at all if come Friday bugger-all has happened. Still Kate's stash of dosh has earned some interest even at okay's absurdly low rates and glory be the pound sterling is rising steadily against most other currencies so hanging onto it makes good finical sense. Les is beginning to look like a liability is he not?
-
What we don't want right now is for Dave Merrington to put in a transfer request. If Dave stays we'll be OK.
-
If he can charm Morgan into staying a while longer, RK will achieve hero status amongst fans, not quite a legend but well on the way. Then, if we win the league that will be something else but don't rule it out.
-
Do we have anybody posted up at St Mary's, back doors as well as front. If RK's three signings this weekend are real happening then there should be some activity up there today
-
So Ronald says we'll have a very busy weekend bringing in three players so that they can be fully involved for the last two weeks of training. He seems like a straightforward honest sort of guy..... Kreuger - no timetable Koeman - over this weekend I want to believe this, please let it happen.

Which is an odd thing to say really as most of the goals against came from that side of the pitch with Shaw caught well forward and miles out of position. Making an all-time judgement based on one season of Shaw-hype and Bertrand not really being given a chance is very unwise. The truth is such simplistic A/B comparisons are no more than you opinion and stamping your feet and shouting about it doesn't change anything.

Any rumours of substance will be official leaks of that you can be assured. Nobody on here appear to act in such an official capacity even as a mole so the best thing to do is to regard it all as BS. With 17 days to go to ko the likelihood of SFC spending any of the money that has been raked in from transfers out is diminishing rapidly. None will be spent in my view all the clap-trap about imminent signings is simply PR spin to stop us gullible peasants revolting.
