Sadio Mané says he will be back in just two weeks
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Wouldn't be the first time and certainly won't be the last. Lets face it, Koeman & Lee are pretty canny buggers and play their high cards very close to their chests. Dave Watson will know where the bodies are buried as well. -
RK signed a three year contract and he seems to be enjoying his time here. He's operated in La Liga before so is well known over there as a manger when he had mixed success, as well as for his time as a player at Barcelona I would need to be convinced that they would take a risk on him yet, after all they have the pick of the crop from any country so there are quite a few ahead of Ronald. If we do get the s***** end of the stick yet again at least can screw Barca for a few million quid compensation.... We are used to our players being cherry picked so it's gutting that we might now suffer the same way over our managers. Bug.ger me we'd be the best team in the world if all those other avaricious sods would just leave us alone!

FA Cup Fourth Round Draw - Saints/Ipswich v Crystal Palace
Charlie Wayman replied to nta786's topic in The Saints
I imagine that Palace regard this tie with even less enthusiasm than Saints, they don't need the distraction of the Cup anymore than we. Maybe Ipswich will put us out of our misery, if not lets put out the kids for this one. For sure Palace will. -
It IS a serious issue but of course nobody will pay for a new bridge. All will stay as it is until somebody gets injured or killed in a crush. Then the HSE will step in and insist on change. These actions always become reactive rather than proactive. It is evident from what you observe and report that there is a real hazard and a real and present danger. It is negligence to ignore such warnings and concerns.

250 games of Schneiderlin: Your favourite Morgan moments?
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
So Ronald Koeman is not an OK source? What's difficult to understand in Ron's press conference comment " Nobody will be leaving in the window"? -
250 games of Schneiderlin: Your favourite Morgan moments?
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
By far the most creative mid-fielder we have ever had. I loved the kid from the first time he walked out in a Saints shirt. Every single touch has been a lasting memory. Can't see any reason why he would want to leave us right now except that a change of scene can be as good as a tonic in any situation. Fair enough if he decides 250 games is it. He should be on our Legends banner -
Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 1-1 Ipswich Town
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Poor performance against a mediocre team of little skill who parked the bus. Football doesn't get much duller than this. Thank goodness they don't do extra time as my will to live was right on the edge. MotM you're kidding yeah? -
It is maybe unpalatable to those who think a good player should be one who steams up and down the pitch non-stop for 90 minutes but the match-winning genius players often contribute only a couple of flashes of inspiring play per match but boy when those moments come along they can change games and create lasting memories as Mane showed us yesterday. I doubt we will ever see a better individual goal at St Mary's.

Far from it with Morgan and Victor always just a lunging leg away from a Red Card, we need Jack Cork's more disciplined approach to steady a rocking ship. Harrison Reed is a fantastic prospect but the ferocious way he goes about his business scares the willies out of me; refs will have a field day sorting him out over the years. That's what comes of having Morgan & Victor as role models.

Maya Yoshida signs new three-year deal
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Like you mean a squad player that plays every game... LOL. I like the lad, he has adapted well to what to a very disciplined Japanese must be an unsettling informal joshy culture and has worked his socks off to improve his all-round game to the level needed at the top of the PL. Absolutely delighted that Maya will be here for a few more years, a natural leader who brings much needed dedication to the dressing room. Players who want to be here are the players we should want to keep. -
One of those days when you can only watch and marvel at the excellence of this Southampton team. A match to savour, a day to remember. Thanks Mr Koeman for a very merry Christmas.

Who was that Chelsea player chatting up Morgan at HT?
-
No penalty was given because there was no direct threat on goal. It was bit of a ball-possession tussle on the edge of the box, both players slipped and there was a tangle of legs. It was all completely accidental. Harsh to book the Chelsea bloke but then again two officials were watching the incident. Take no notice of Mourinho's usual inane ravings, if the only way to win is to cry wolf 'cos your team can't score in open play then that team will never deserve to be worthy champions. I am fed up with effing big club whingers. The sooner Mourinho and his ilk b.ugger off to some foreign league the better for the PL. Give me 1 Ronald Koeman's any day for 100 of these sulky miserable bastartds.

One minute's loss of concentration through over-confidence and we draw a match we could have won. Despite all their gifted players, Chelsea didn't create much at all, with no shots on target except the pass into the net from an unchallenged runner. Chelsea 'though in all honesty were a much better organised and gifted team and we didn't get a sniff in the second half. Very lucky boys but what the hell, we get a point they lose two and we're still 4th.

Red card is a three game suspension surely? He was a yard off the pace today hence the desperate tackling that earned him yellows. Morgan is always a car crash waiting to happen with his silly habit of jabbing out a foot when exasperated. He is certainly an accomplished player but on today's evidence not disciplined enough to match Fabregas & Co. He'd struggle to get into the Chelsea team and most likely Man City as well. His absence from the Arsenal games is a co-incidence not conspiratorial as the more nervous on here postulate. Maybe there is a Saints conspiracy to keep him away from Wenger?

This looks like a win for Saints, about 3-1 probably.

Eljero Elia - Confirmed 6 Month Loan
Charlie Wayman replied to Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd's topic in The Saints
The real issue is that this player may be too full of his own self importance to fit into a team ethos like ours. Osvaldo was clearly a misfit whereas as Graziano Pelle is very clearly fully integrated into being part of Saints them and vision. I get the feeling that Mane can't change enough from being me-Mane to be successful in the team by becoming not only a skilled winger but also aa anonymous team grafter when the circumstances require it. Belle as an example gives very impression that he owns the team, just like Jose & Maya an these are the players we should buy not prima donna misfits who dazzle only when the mood takes them. -
Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 3-0 Everton
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
11 points from safety! Only joking, what a match, what a performance and top marks to Steve & James for ploughing on for 90 minutes (well almost) when carrying injuries and not being anywhere near match fit. -
Matt Targett signs 5 year contract to 2019
Charlie Wayman replied to Ulrich van Gobbel's topic in The Saints
Gateshead v Eastleigh is going to be one hell of a game for the neutral. -
Very insightful. With "supporters" like you the team can only go from strength to strength. Are you suggesting perhaps that the dressing room corridor should have beds rather than bikes for the pre-match nonsense?
-
Love the way Ron dealt with this question, no evasiveness or double talk just head-up straight-on dry humour. Best quote of our year by miles. There's only one Ronald Koeman. Don't let him slip away through frustration Les.
-
Rupert Lowe. In fact he was Right honourable... oh well better not go there!

So why the delay with Clyne? Where there's a will... as they say. Two sides of the same coin.
