  1. Do you really think that making a great deal of noise actually affects outcomes? Of course not, the players are either in form or not and the team is either clicking or it is not. If you go into work feeling like death warmed up no way are you going to do a good day's work whether the boss gives you encouragement or not, right!your just waiting to get through it and hope you feel better the next day. We've all been there, done that....
  2. How can a post be 'sensible' as you see it when the writer says we must get in 3, 4 or 5 top quality players in the window? It is difficult enough to find and sign 2 top quality players in the whole of the summer window in between seasons when contracts are up and players are looking for new challenges. In January, no player worth his salt and embedded in a top side in any European League will want or be allowed to leave his club so you are left either to make unrealistically massive offers for stars - which we cannot afford - to prise them away or draft in people who spend most of their time on benches at other top clubs - implying that they are not really good enough anyway. So the sensible poster should sensibly explain where we will find these somehow over-looked superstars or the cash to buy them? Ron has already stated that nobody will be leaving in January so no money coming in from that direction. The best we can hope for is a loan or two of bench-warmers who might change the mix a bit but won't transform our fortunes.
  3. No bad luck involved here, we just weren't good enough and team confidence is taking a real hammering. The good thing is they seem to be taking it on the chin as a team rather than blaming each other. Right now it is hard to see a way out of the hole we are digging for ourselves and it could get a whole lot worse after Saturday with half our spine missing. 1-0 defeats are hard to take but allow claims of being unlucky, anything bigger (v Everton) like 3-0 might have a really damaging effect on team morale and cohesiveness.
  4. With half the team in self destruct mode, there is more than a chance that we are now consigned to losing the next four in a row. Does anybody see any way of halting the slide? Everton looks very difficult after tonight's rash of yellow and red cards. This could be a horror show, predicting the score almost irrelevant.

    JWP

With Schneiderlin fit again on Saturday JWP will be on the bench but at least we have the option of subbing one of the midfielders at the 2/3rd's point with a guy of some quality. Obviously Hesketh won't be fit so no competition from him yet awhile but if I was JWP I'd be looking over my shoulder at this even younger pretender who looks suspiciously like a future goal machine
  6. Come off it wiggles that is massively out of order as well you know. Sound like you've got a problem or two of your own to sort out.
  7. Anybody loosing faith yet? Sad to say we look more and more like a one man team with that man sitting in the stand huddled up in a padded parka tweeting his mates. Invidious to blame individuals for today's let down, nobody played well enough. We need players on the bench who can genuinely lift a side and inject sparkle and decisiveness when the starting XI get bogged down as they did today.
  8. Bought my tickets yesterday so at least 2 attending. Worth the money just to see Mick MaCarthy again. Great guy who says it as he sees it and always seems able to be too good for the championship but not quite good enough for the PL. If indeed Ipswich get promoted this time let's all hope that their top management will be a bit more patient and understanding than those impatient dolts at Wolves & Sunderland in the past. You don't get promoted time after time without a reason, like being a bloody good football man manager.
  9. No, no, no we just cannot afford to have Jose and Maya playing together, one or t'other always produces at least one coc.kup of a howler per match whereas Toby is steady as a rock and brings more out of Jose. Try Yosh up front as a sub.
  10. I'd be very surprised if we didn't score at least 4 tomorrow 4-0 sounds about right to me... it has good ring to it
  11. He didn't say that at all. Why don't people actually concentrate and listen to what he says.
  12. But it sends out the wrong messages, TV invariably picks up the crowd movements and can't resist the chance to mutter on about "It's clear what Saints fans think of this... etc" Also the players can sense this as well and at a time when they're giving their all and knackered of course they are bound to think "Well if those bar stewards don't give a tos.s why should we!" I drive, I stay to the end. I'll still be there when the last ember dies and the final shot has echoed off the roofs. If you're Red & White then say for the night!
  13. Which had precisely coc.k-all to do with defenders going to sleep because of the lull and for once not ball watching. Fraser can only ever be as good as the back four in front of him and wasn't to blame for this act of schoolboy defending.
  14. The info has been around since 2000 at least, all this was talked about at the time of construction. Stadium of Light is the one to look at, much the same as SMS with three sides raised above the level of the main stand. Fair point to bring forward and I for one would like to see them get on with it before this particular Koeman bubble bursts.
  15. Actually they were just behind me but TV was misleading. Toby, JWP, Morg an , Luke & Jaidi were all sitting together in a row behind the man U board in the Itchen. I expect Jaidi was keeping an eye on Shaw and could hear every word. Morgan is better than United. Don't blame Ron for the parsity of our squad!
  16. The were indeed but Ryan Bertrand was my MotM
  17. Effing daylight robbery. To lose in that way to such a c.rap bunch of clueless t.ossers is gut wrenching. Fonte is a right tit and deserves to be dropped. Hesketh, who he? Mayuka? Send him home on a free.
  18. Long seemed to be carrying an injury since mid first half. Probably had to stay on longer than was good for him. Hope as a result he is not out for Monday as well.
  19. Exactly what happened last year. With Toby, Morgan & Cork out we are stuffed. Obviously Reed isn't quite tup here yet to get a game against Manure so what can we do? Yoshisan doesn't look good enough at this level and Fonte is looking increasingly shaky. Not quite meltdown but top four seems remote with this sort of luck. Sh.t!
  20. The OS mentions live streaming tonight... surely not live video from the BT feed? ...for free? ...or just radio?
  21. PS. The only one of the BIG FOUR worth watching these days is Gooners and only because half of them are Saints kids.
  22. It's on telly at lunchtime so why would anybody cough up £40 on a ticket when they can spend it on beer, pies and fries at the local pub? Might be bloody freezing' up at SMS too. No Brainer. I don't have Sky or a local pub!
  23. Just a daft rumour. Poor old Ricky now a bit of a misfit except for England?
  24. Another of those occasions where we kept the ball easily but in a far too slow paced unhurried passing game that lacked any sort of penetration threat in the box. More like this and we'll soon be slipping down the league. Should have played Cork from start and used Long as a sub for Mane later on. Nat Clyne was our saviour but many more performances like this and we'll be fending off Bayern and Real Madrid. Let's just hope he loves living down here enough to stay for a couple more years. Best since Bale? Quite possibly.
  25. How the heck are we going to stop Aguero, it just isn't possible. I fear we're in for a thrashing after tonight's City morale booster. Prepare for a drubbing chaps. Most pessimistic I've been all season. 0-4 if we're lucky, sorry Ron but can't see how we'll ever get the ball off them.
