Saints Sign Filip Djuricic on loan from Benfica
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Ain't it wonderful that nowadays we are being linked to an endless players wanting to come here, compare that with six months ago when every press rumour was about everyone including the tea lady wanting to move to a bigger club where she could urn more. -
This too... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2929174/Southampton-inquire-Feyernoord-midfielder-Tonny-Vilhena.html

Sad to hear but would explain his woeful performance on Saturday when it was clear his mind was elsewhere. Clasie could be on his way in as most likely replacement, remember this? http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-eye-transfer-jordy-clasie-5048184

Are you just making it up? Are there really that many fans who can't go for 45 mins without a drink? If so, they must be borderline alkys. In all my many years watching Saints at the Dell & SMS I have never yet seen anybody drinking alcohol during a match. Let's not make mountains out of molehills.

The Long Overdue Pointless 2015/16 (Adidas) Kit Thread
Charlie Wayman replied to The9's topic in The Saints
As this is a pointless thread, here's my pointless six penny worth... Similar home kit to this year but the white stripes replaced by the darker colour currently used as rings on our socks. That would look classy! -
Where did that come from? Incomprehensible non sequitur.
-
Exactly how I feel. We're probably dreaming and it never happened at all.

In a word Ronald Koeman, in two words in fact!

I'm hoping the Palace fiasco does not signal an unravelling of our style of play and a decline in performance. The ease with which we were sliced open by fast running forwards was scary to watch as we've been so rock solid up until now. There may be a tendency for the coaches to over-react to that defeat and change things around unnecessarily this week to plug the perceived short-comings of last Saturday but it's a different situation and different team. For sure Swansea will come at us out of the blocks knowing that we will be in a pensive frame of mind until we settle into our routine. If we go 1-0 down in the first 10 minutes, it is not easy to see how we will score and get back into it especially if they then park the bus.

So was I and he was holding his rib-cage with the medic helping to keep his upper body weight off it when they walked down the tunnel in front of me.

Refs are easy targets for blokes like you. Funny isn't it that we don't hear a squeak from you or your ilk about refs when we win. I don't know if you were at the match or not but it was obvious to everyone that we didn't lose because of the ref. They have a very difficult job to do under extremely difficult circumstance, how would you feel at being called a wonker every week by a bunch of clueless morons who probably have never read the rules of football in their life.
-
Of course we wanted to win this game, we want to win every game.... ah well, we'll believe everything we're told. Bye!, bye! Corkie and Gardos? Can anybody explain to me what the three guys up top are supposed to be doing all afternoon? Beats me.
-
You're right. All the alleged hesitancy over contracts like Nat & Jack must hinge on recollections of what happened here last summer and probably the future of Ronald himself. For me the key would be Toby, if he signs it would be a certain signal that he believes Ronald will still be here next year, after him the rest should fall neatly into place with Nat signing and Ryan signing on permanently. I'd even stick my neck out and predict that if Toby stays, Morgan will stay as well especially if we make the CL.
-
Have any of you considered it possible that Steve de Ridder might have been firkin brilliant under Ron? Maybe we could learn from Elia's unhappy tale of woe.
-
Can't imagine Jack will get a better deal anywhere and if he sees his future here as a bench-warmer that says more about Jack than anybody else. Sign the deal, get your head down and work your ars,e off lad, the rest is easy and we all love ya so what's not to like. Ryan is a great example about what a Chelsea outcast can achieve so follow his lead. Morgan, smorgan... victor, svictor... who's worried about them.

At last we have players who seem to believe it to be a privilege to play for Saints. Pochettino's legacy was a squad of mercenaries who couldn't wait to jump ship thus devaluing the club in the eyes of the world, now we have a guy in charge whom players are queuing up to die for. What a contrast and what a change.

Build a bigger stadium, the plastics brigade are moving in.
-
Seems unlikely seeing as 'though we play them up there in our last game. Love to be proved wrong but also unlikely
-
You cannot be serious or are you just a WUM? Try watching him in action without prejudice and maybe then you'll see why most of us rate him very highly indeed.
-
So will my effing telephone bill, the bastard,s have got to find that £1bn from somewhere and it's going to be from me and you.

Hasn't you boss told you... We want answers not questions? Anybody can ask dumbfool questions?

Newcastle 1 - 2 Southampton Post Match euphoria
Charlie Wayman replied to SNSUN's topic in The Saints
Never seemed to be under any sort of real threat today even when shutting up shop in the last ten minutes. Great battling defensive displays from Davis & Reed but the lack of a creative spark meant we could not threaten their back four consistently enough to take the pressure off our back four. In the circumstances a dour and rugged performance, certainly not pretty but a valuable win that we just about merited. Elia MotM for two finely taken goals, cool hand luke indeed. -
Would you want to be playing Championship football next year? Exactly! For him the best options here are ManUre or Us with Dutch managers and playing philosophy but where would he fit in? If Toby leaves then "maybe" but if Toby signs a new deal and with Yoshi and Gardos up to speed, where's the space?

Newcastle United vs Saints - Build up
Charlie Wayman replied to Ulrich van Gobbel's topic in The Saints
Odds on we'll ship at least one goal up there because of the absence of Victor, Morgan & Toby. It's nonsense to think nothing will change, these are world class players and with the best will in the world, Cork, Davis & Gardos are not at their level. If our attack clicks and we score, 1-1 will be a good result but if we lose the midfield and the forwards become isolated 0-1 is likely and even 0-2. We are in a perfect storm of injuries right now and so we can't afford for Jose, Ryan and Nat to over-play and get an injury, the last thing we need is another key defender out for weeks. -
Rough night or manic depressive?
