Easily pleased. I suppose your idea of a good time is lying on your back with your feet and arms in the air having your tummy tickled!

I think he is really poor at this level. In one game a couple of years ago Tadic provided nearly as many goals and assists in the 8 goal drubbing of Sunderland that Redmond has contributed in all the games he has played for us so far? That's how he must be judged. Did you not see the reactions of some of his team mates yesterday? He was getting a right ear bashing from Cedric and one or two others for wasting chances when given through balls on a plate. If his team mates are not happy with how he has performed why should fans be?

What purpose is served by your constant negativity, we are not going down so why harp on about it. -

Just get rid of Redmond, Austin and Ward Prowse. Simple really. Total Shambles. Only Cedric played with any credit and Bertie who started before being knackered. -
Absolutely the best centre back we have ever had and I have seen them all. He'll stay for a while especially if we can pay him what he's worth and forget about expensive signings to cover it. Let's use our money wisely.

Isn't that what we did on Wednesday night up at the Emirates?

I feel sorry for Maya because there are plenty on here who have done nothing but slag him off from Day 1. It seems a section of the so-called fan base needs a whipping boy to blame for all our failures. Most players make howlers during a match but these fans let it pass by especially if it's one of their favourite players but not so for poor old Maya who gets abuse on here almost weekly. It is naive to think he doesn't get to read what fans are saying and constant negativity towards him must have an impact on the player on the pitch and emotionally. Time now for all these people to get off his back and recognise that the is one hell of a good player and we are lucky indeed to have a guy of his talent prepared to take a back seat most of the time and then play a blinder when called upon to do so. Many PL teams would love to have him in their starting formations but he has stayed loyal to us and even to those brain challenged morons who are forever on his case.

Arsenal 0-2 Saints - Reaction & Semi Final Draw
Charlie Wayman replied to Lighthouse's topic in The Saints
Isn't it great that JWP & MT rarely get mentioned as young academy lads these days, such fixtures have they become and yet that's what they are. They were missing last night but suppose they had played a part as well...... Mind you with Bertie in the form of his life Matt & Sam are going to have to go some to feature on merit rather than through rotation. The big Q is will any of these boys get the nod for Wembley or are they just doing the leg work for the big beasts to seize the glory. There'll be no take it or leave it attitude on that stage believe me. -
23:05 train from Waterloo after the Arsenal gane
Charlie Wayman replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
The London Underground is like that every day now with line closures, strike action and just the sheer numbers of people using the network - you get used to it but there is no solution. Late night trains from Waterloo to our part of the world have been a nightmare for several years, there are always cancellations of the later trains due to "technical issues" on the line like drivers not reporting in for duty or signal failures. It is not unusual to be diverted through Guildford & Cosham to get home two hours later than expected. What can we do about it? FA that's what, nobody's listening and we are stuck with a Victorian railway system that just does not work properly. We nearly always drive up to town these days for evening's out because as stressful and costly as it is at least we know we can get home eventually even with the inevitable road closures and diversions through places you've never heard of (like yesterday!!!!). On public transport the only thing that can be guaranteed is that you will suffer massive inconvenience and life-threatening frustration at some point of your journey. Mind you expecting it doesn't make it any less unbearable. -
Arsenal 0-2 Saints - Reaction & Semi Final Draw

Totally agree, there must be huge belief in the manager amongst the players, every man played their hearts out for the team tonight. Clasie was excellent and that goal will surely do wonders for him and Bertie just keeps getting better. Utterly bewildering play from us at times. -
Had it every occurred to anybody that he might actually want to stay here for a few years and help build the champions of tomorrow. In my experience Dutch people are very honest and very loyal and amongst the most honest in the world. I'll wager he is nowhere near as mercenary as some on here and in the media seem to think. Even Les & Kat will not dare to put money first as VVD is the very heart of Puel's new team and without him we really would be a candidate for relegation.

We shouldn't forget Sam McQueen's debut either, after all it was only a few matches ago and now we think of him as a full-on first team player despite only having started 3 or 4 times. Why not play Sam on the left wing and Josh on the right perhaps.
-
...but we could finish 6th.

Josh Sims, just another water carrier? Come on man give a little bit of credit where it is due. For a debut appearance the lad was simply outstanding showing a level of maturity that escaped many of the other senior players out there. I don't know if you have ever seen him before but many on here have watched his progress through the junior sides with excitement, he can carry the ball, pick out a cross, bet his man and shoes goals. He and Seagar are the bees knees make no mistake about it and water carrier he is not. He reminds me very much of the young Lallana all those years ago but this my friend is not League 1, this is the Premier League and what we saw and you saw yesterday was something rather special. MotM? Not really but youngsters on here get excited or depressed at the drop of a hat.
-
I hear that Arsenal are in for him in the window, three tubes of Smarties and an original 1980's Millennium Falcon. Les is delighted with the offer. Only snag Josh, the beard... Loose that bloody beard!

They owed us this one and they knew it. Well played Josh Sims!

Excruciating crap from beginning to end. Truly F*ing awful. We are fast making ourselves a laughing stock. We deserved nothing, we got nothing. -

Indeed Mr Fry and we have read plenty of it from you over the years, whoever you are. My advice to people like you is don't be so sure you know everything and the rest of us know nothing.
-
Today VVD has become a Man U target (allegedly) so we may get to keep Jose after all. Always a silver lining.
-
Can't you? Are you really a fan then? Just to spell it out to you... "because it happens all the bloody time and they are getting sick to the back teeth of being ripped off and treated as effing idiots"
-
Raw data has only superficial interest, there are so many variables at play that serious interpretation is meaningless. That's before you factor in political dishonesty like counting ST sales as attendance irrespective of whether a ST holder is present or not which has probably always happened. I remember several sold-out matches at the Dell in bygone years when locked gates were forced open and people dived in for free by the hundreds... say no more. In fact on any one day at a match, it is doubtful anybody has a clue how many people are inside a ground.

Which is what we do by and large but occasionally we strike lucky and find a rough diamond in amongst the clinker. I doubt there's much conscious design about our recruitment efforts but because we concentrate on a market sector that most are not looking at we get lucky once in a while. Most PL clubs want players proven at this level, we can't afford to compete with them. People seem to forget that we recruit quite a few players who attract no interest from other clubs. Watch carefully the Matchday Uncovered footage keeping a special eye open on Mr Sturridge in the corridor after the game cosying up to a few of our players, yes, of course England pals but more to it than that? Not saying we could actually afford him but perhaps he is signalling that he might fancy life a bit further south. Before you scoff, remember the big cuddles between Lallana & Gerrard in similar footage from the season prior to Lallana jumped ship.

I hope the club and many of the 20/20 vision "experts" on here will be as sanguine about the club seeng players only as tradable assets when many of their spectators decide to move on as well.
