  1. After yesterday's results the top four is settled. Now as one wag observed yesterday it's a battle between three to see who can avoid the Europa's! It is well known that Pochettino hates the bloody tournament and deliberately ensured Saints avoided it last season, now after a lack lustre performance by Spurs on Sunday perhaps he is already working things around to make sure Spurs avoid it this time. Of course all three cannot be seventh so a good thumping by Hull would certainly help us but that bloody goal difference may be more of a hindrance than a help come the end of the season. All three are at home this weekend so it'll be very interesting to see if any of them try to win. I'll bet we lose 1-0
  2. How is he worse than Elia, Mane or Tadic? Certainly better than Pellè. Perhaps you are suggesting we should sell them all and I wouldn't disagree with you on that!
  3. I saw Bill play many times over the years often alongside Alf Ramsey; he was an elegant full back full of style and very reliable. Hope the club will mark his passing next Saturday with one minute's applause. A true Saint. RIP
  4. Bloody awful, we didn't look like we could fashion a goal even if the other lot hadn't turned up. Our attack... what attack you may well ask? Even our defending was all over the place at times. Nobody deserves credit for this inept performance. For goodness sake they all knew we had to win every game to have any chance of European football and they were handed a golden opportunity on a plate when the Scousers got stuffed by the Arse beforehand? Frankly our attack was useless today and not for the first time this year. Let's hope some of them move on but of course it will be the players we c an ill afford to lose who will move on and we'll still be stuck with the clueless ones next year. There was one hell of a meltdown in this house.
  5. So, what you're saying is now we are only a feeder club for Atletico rather than Scousepool? Lots of Horses being traded!
  6. Neither side look good enough to stay up. Burnley are miles better than either and struggling. Whatever, the top three of the Championship will for sure be bottom three all season and ensure that Saints stay up next year come what may.
  7. What if he wants to stay with Koeman and Saints? Don't rule it out.
  8. Welcome to "The Pleasure Dome" Frankie goes to Staplewood?
  9. It's an effing wind up mate right or don't you understand football at all?
  10. Probably, you are right. Cynicism apart, obviously it is not part of their planning just the outcome of unplanned consequences. My guess is that they know that fans will always judge them in the worst light possible and that early calls for ST renewal will not be appreciated by cash strapped fans. It is certainly a cash flow need in the fallow summer months of zero match day income.
  11. So we get mugged off again, pay up front before this season ends with no chance of finding out how many of our best players will bugger off in the close season. Just what they did to us last year and yeah, so it all worked out nicely in the end last time but miracles like lightning strikes rarely happen twice in the same place.
  12. Not before time either. Seems the FA's proposed English player quota idea has finally got the PL's attention.
  13. Anybody who still doubts Katherina's commitment should take note. That's an awful lot of money to put at risk however wealthy they make be.
  14. I am really pleased for him. Well deserved and not before time. Give it your best shot Ryan and the job is yours for keeps. Baines? Who he?
  15. He's gone old chap the bit about Saints and top four was just bit of political face saving as he wants to leave with a good feeling amongst hi fans. He knows as you know that even top six is BIG ask now and top four is impossible to the level of confidence that one could bet one's house on it. My only worry is what to do with my Schneiderlin shirt? Should have gone to specsavers?
  16. Don't be too harsh on the old codger, he did after all call it quits because he couldn't keep up anymore and maybe it's what we don't know that tells more of his story.
  17. What is certain 'though is that team coaches will be telling their players to put Kelvin under pressure from the get-go, long balls into the box, long range shooting hoping to cash in on any rustiness in his game at age 38. He'll need to be focused for 90 mins even if he has relatively little to do for most of the afternoon.
  18. Keep up, it's already mathematically impossible, Manure have lost 5 all season, now you're asking them to lose 3 out of 8. No chance!
  19. Gutted this morning. Fourth certainly gone so a three way battle for Europa League. Spurs maybe won't want to get involved in that again for fixture congestion reasons and remember Pochettino was anti-Europa when he was here. OK we get a bit more money for 6th than 7th so maybe that's what we are really playing for now?
  20. Unfair to take the **** on his birthday Yuki.
  21. He did, his running off the ball and the positions he took up were fantastic and several telling final balls through should have brought us at least two more goals if our strikers could actually strike! Man of the Match for me for his tireless commitment especially when we were under the cosh in the first half. What an engine the man has, still sprinting until the very end. Great job from 'Super Kev' and Morgan was his usual commanding self. Big shout up for Shane Long as well, looks like a fixture in the starting line up to me but Tadic, what has happened to the guy nothing seems to work for him anymore?
  22. I want a Ferrari and a Sunseeker and a private island retreate in the Pacific, no harm in baying for the moon as long as your feet are standing firmly on the ground.
  23. Come off it, you've been around here long enough not to posit such a daft question. Don't worry, be happy, it's only football and they'll all be gone in 7 years but you'll still be here no doubt worrying about the same thing then. Trust in Ronald!
  24. Djuricic's heart is not in it, especially it seems when he is on the bench and used as an impact player. He said recently his heart is still in Portugal so must be hoping to be recalled from his loan spell here. The only way to succeed in "the Southampton way" is 100% full commitment which clearly is not there if his brief appearance at The Bridge was anything to go by. If he wasn't prepared to give his 100% to Saints one wonders why he came here in the first place. It must be much warmer on the bench over there than here. Chances are he doesn't fancy it here at all and will move on to a different club probably in Italy next year.
