  1. A golden future outside then with great trade deals with friends like India who are about to pull the plug on their investment in out steel industry 'cos the going has got tough? At least out European partners are there for the long haul through thick and thin.
  2. You couldn't make it up, both Remain and Brexit will clearly seize any opportunity to make political capital. In or out, nothing will change not least because we will still be in the EU - yes even if Out win - as it will take many years to resign our membership and unravel all the ties. Footballers would be somewhere way down the list of the 100 top issue to resolve like 101th! Still the Beeb love it in their usual *** stirring g modus operandi.
  3. This story is at least one year too soon, RK will see out his contract, he ha always said that and there will be no changing of the guard whilst he's around. Let's face it the club has got its work cut out to hang on to Wanyama and Mane, so the last thing they'll be worrying about right now is the futures of our older players. They're all going to the Euros anyway so nothing to sweat about now and they'll probably all miss out on the World Cup through age in 2018. We are their last big club and they know it. Daft story really David.
  4. I wasn't expecting any favours from the club and true to form they delivered none. Still what can you buy for £759 these days! The process of 'ethnic' cleansing of the Itchen Premium continues, i.e. no discounts for seniors. Pity we don't have a system of pay what you think each game was worth.
  5. You are right more or less.
  6. A better way of looking at these statistics is to regard them as indicators of demand. Clubs at the top end of the list are clearly under-catering for demand whereas those at the bottom will never ever fill their grounds. At 93% even in one of our best seasons ever, there is evidently a pretty good match between the present capacity of St Mary's and the likely turn out and will fuel comments by Kreugar and others that there are no foreseeable plans to increase the capacity of St Mary's; simply because their is no reason to increase it's capacity. It caters adequately for the present fan-base, diehards and arrivistes alike.
  7. Not your favourite player then? Actually many think he is rather good!
  8. Probably not. Koeman repeatedly stresses 'the team', 'the system', 'good organisation', 'discipline' as reasons for success rather than individual skill or contribution. Morgan is still a very good player but does not fit into the system of play used by van Gaal. Wrong place at the wrong time but he'll come good again be sure of that.
  9. ... and you think Nigel Adkins had nothing to do with THEIR success?
  10. Burnley could grab him if they go up.
  11. Bit unfair on Nigel to suggest he has failed. Managers are on a hiding to nothing these days, brought in to prop up a collection of players who are under-performing and has never worked with or had a say in recruiting, given precious little money to improve the squad and not time to get back to basics and build a squad of his own. He succeeded spectacularly at Saints under Cortese an there is no reason why he will not do so again as long as he is patient and elects his next job wisely. Sadly, his family need food on the table and chances are he has never been paid in his whole career as much as Wenger might earn in one season so being patient might also be a luxury for him. Nigel got us to the Premier League and was beginning to do a half decent job at that level until his quite unfair dismissal by the megalomaniac running the tent in those days. It was good to see him invited back by Katherina for the last game of last season; perhaps he'll be given the honour of managing the ex-Saints on Kelvin's big night.
  12. When you've got to go you've GOT TO GO, we've all been there.
  13. Fascinating to see all the amateur trick cyclists at work. What's he supposed to do to please everyone, he'd already ripped off his shirt in triumph? If he hugs somebody in the crowd, it's another yellow and a Red and what would Mr K say about that! Players like him are on hiding to nothing. Probably English is not his first language and he really has to think hard and draw deep when being interviewed by the Club' official You Tube channel. I can tell you it is hard to be relaxed and show humour in a foreign language and an alien culture.
  14. Were you one of this guys who walked out at that stage?
  15. I think he did it just to take the p*** out of that prat Klopp who is a glory hunter always trying to draw attention to himself on the pitch. bet his players get p***ed off with his antics and histrionics.
  16. Not next week it's the "international break" (cue fanfare of trumpets).
  17. Come off it, both have failed spectacularly after being hyped to the point of ridiculousness. They are has-been journeymen and Championship players at best.
  18. Les will already know as his black box is great at succession planning. Could be Mourinho of course but more likely some unknown guy plying his trade in Portugal. Its worked before.
  19. The fact that he stayed with us for so long suggests he is quite a sensitive and loyal young man and must be going through his own mini misery hell right now. No doubt he will have reviewed in his mind whether he should have stayed here after all rather than be lured away by the fading glamour of a once big club. He will come good again 'though once he is working with people who make him feel valued and settled, that isn't what van Gaal is offering right now. Like other contributors I do sense that he will end up with Spurs under Poch or under Koeman wherever Koeman ends up next - Arsenal?
  20. Very mean spirited Blakey, of course it will be fantastic for English football and the Premier League in particular if Leicester and Tottenham finish 1,2 in either order. Great for fans everywhere and a real spur to all those also rans who habitually haunt the relegation region of the PL or the upper echelons of the Championship.
  21. Yep! Probably the only way to look at it. Any points from that lot in the current circumstances will be a real bonus.
  22. Very much in the shop window now, accident or planned?
  23. He has that rare quality of causing a buzz of excitement every time he gets on the ball. Who else can light the place up the way he does? The only downside is his own recklessness in never shirking a 50/50 ball which on day might be his physical undoing - but without that commitment he wouldn't be Shane Long. We must just accept he will miss a few games here and there though injury. He was the same at his former clubs and used to terrify me just by being in the opposition's starting line up.
  24. Hope that is irony otherwise just a daft comment to make.
