  1. He needs a goal, simple as that. Bet he reaches double figures this season. He's on fire except for the finishing. We must send out love signals not get on his back. It matters not who scores in the end as long as somebody does.
  2. All four Academy graduates received great praise from the Wail this morning for last night's performances. Of course we don't believe a word this rag says but we'll let them off this time, even they can get it right once in a while. They were 'though polishing up the Manure link as 'though Hesketh was already one of their's but with Sims, Johnson and Olumula coming through fast let's actually hang onto these kids and create a new golden generation of our own on the south coast. Who knows we might even win this league in three or four years time.
  3. No way is Puel is going to blow this one away on kids, he is not running a charity. He knows perfectly well that we cannot win the PL so he will go all out to deliver one of the other three competitions we are in and who says we can't win them all. It's also another vital opportunity to sharpen up our forwards with some much needed shooting practice. If he introduces any of the kids it will be late on and certainly none of the bunch who played against the Leicester Cubs on Monday night - so don't expect Sims or Olumola to appear. A surprise late sub might be Johnson who is rising rapidly through the ranks and taking the place by storm. This boy could well be our next best thing. If twere me and not Puel, I'd keep our defence intact to let them gel more and gain extra confidence from another clean sheet. All great teams are built on a rock solid defence - remember same old Arsenal, winning 1-0?
  4. I missed this game as on holiday somewhere in the Med. Reading comments on here we had a god match but people are still nervous. Two things fans need to bear in mind - according to many Swansea were a very poor side so do we only win against very poor sides? Of course not, they looked a poor side only because we made them look like a poor side. Remember how we"only" scraped a draw against useless Watford? Look at them now, not that poor at all flying high and thrashing Jose's all- conquering heroes. Get used to the idea that we are not at all a bad side. Finishing is an issue but we can't expect Austin to do it on his own, he just isn't fit enough to last 90 mins let alone start every game especially when we play three in a week. He may well feel frustrated but believe me the trainers will know more about his conditioning than we or he and we certainly do not want any passengers on the pitch who may cost us a sub after only 30 or 40 mins. Let's enjoy the win and wait for the bigger picture to emerge, give Puel a chance and maybe after all we are in for one very big surprise this season?
  5. We all heard it in the Itchen and it was bloody embarrassing. Koeman has moved on, clearly some morons in the Northam cannot.
  6. Will nothing please you? As the man said we work as a collective not individual players and the squad will be rotated as we have many games in a short period. We should get beyond thinking of a best eleven and the others as reserves in the poorest sense of that word. Much will depend on stamina and fitness levels when measured on Saturday. We have good players in every position and it doesn't bother me who he picks as long as we win. Right now you cannot make a case for any one player to be consistently better than the other option for that position with maybe two exceptions, for example everyone's bets noir has played no worse that Fonte.
  7. Hopefully a one way system will be in place - towards the Swansea goal.
  8. Well it's their loss, I bookedd mine on Day 1 and am getting quite excited about it. A real test against opponents that we know nothing about. All more playing time for the team to get used to Puel's system. Wouldn't miss it for the world, this is what we all wanted so let's get behind the lads - we are stronger together! Even without the beer it'll still be fun.
  9. Looks like they used the design for West Qual watermark.
  10. Now that the dust has settled and we are back to business as usual, to me at least it does seem very mean spirited of the club not to have shown some sort of recognition of the achievements of Jose Fonte and Cedric Soares for their part in helping to win the Euro 2016 title for Portugal. I am sure many fans would have loved it ha there been a ceremony of some kind at the first of our home games. What do you think about this, what they might have done and so on? The OS is always banging on about how many of our players go away to represent their countries during international breaks and how this honours the club, so at least you would have thought that they might show some gratitude for the kudos that attaches to our club for supplyng two of the eleven trophy winners. It's not the first time there has been cause to doubt the sincerity of people in the boardroom. It's the detail that matters not slogans, rhetoric or eye-catching tag lines and in this case the club have in my eyes performed very badly.
  11. A realistic statue of Shearer a top, top, top, top, top player if ever there was one would have his left elbow up at head height smacking into some poor sod's jawbone. What's that Alan? You need to get your elbows up to gain height... right! Surely we didn't teach hime these tricks. Credit where due he does his best to put a positive word in for us against the BBC wholly negative narrative about Saints.
  12. It's very hard at the moment to see past a 0-0 unless we get a pen. Maybe the ref will try to recompense us for the howler at the Emirates. Redmond is a pretty good diver so should brush up his act in training this week.
  13. No it isn't, they were very happy to come here in the first place so what went wrong in the meantime? That's the question we should address, why do players or managers not want to stay here? Other clubs don't have to put up with this s**t every year.
  14. Fun for everyone here, you can check where we were after each game last season http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/premier-league/2015-2016/table/2015-09-20
  15. My bet is that we will take this game very seriously indeed and for one reason only, we won't get into Europe next season by any other route than winning this competition. No way we are going to make top six in the PL after the start we've had; with the all-seeing, all knowing Les talking up Champions League this is about the only chance we have of ever reaching such lofty heights. I expect our strongest team to be put out to go all out for a win, no other result will please them that have to be obeyed!
  16. There's always hope for the future but in the here and now we have all these strikers in action and they've mustered 2 goals between them and one of those from a direct free kick. It is good to be optimistic about the potential of all these players but the league has started and none of them are performing.
  17. Look we're all loons on here including you so set that bit aside and explain wee the positive were today and I'll await you looney response with interest. That's my three so can't reply today.
  18. Except that Man City have 12 points from 12 which must mean something in this league.
  19. Useless effing referee cost us a point. With Long, Rodrigues & Austin in their current form we are stuffed. What is the point of Redmond, why can't Puel see what is obvious to the rest of us - if the bloke couldn't hold down a place in a relegation side what the hell is he doing here? Nothing that's what and that's the polite version. Let's face it we just aren't good enough any more, with a non-existent forward line and no supply line stop feed them. no wonder we defended for most of the game. What's happened to Fonte, he just isn't at the races any more and clearly doesn't want to be here. JWP, who he? Mr Anonymous once again.
  20. Nobody mentioned Bale yet, seems an odd omission. Is it 'cos he's Welsh?
  21. That seems a little cruel on a young guy who is probably living through hell with injury after injury. He can't help being built the way he is and there must be times when he gets really depressed about his own prospects of having a half decent career in football. He is not responsible for all the hype that seems to surround his very move publicly or privately, maybe the ciggies are a relatively innocuous way of releasing some of that stress and his move to Bournemouth gives him a chance to recover without the glare of the unrelenting criticism of the London Journos.
  22. There is a real enigma in JWP, he captains the E U21's to success yet rarely starts for his club and is high profile enough for other clubs to come sniffing around yet nobody has offered or been linked? I can't get my head around this, what's missing from all this logic that makes him less desirable as a commodity.
  23. Typically not a single mention of anybody not playing for a top 4 team in today's media reports, was Rashford the only player on the pitch? Chambers as well surely we are worth an honourable mention?
  24. Has anybody noticed that there has been no sign of Les on the OS since the window closed? Maybe he couldn't get those much rumoured deals over the line and is in bad odour upstairs.
  25. Probably be 0-0, we can't score and assuming our defence hold firm.
