By freezing prices BUT NOT offering an early bird discount, the Club have effectively upped prices by last seasons % of the EBD. Very sly move and guaranteed to upset fans like me who do not even get a senior discount for where we sit in the Itchen. FMBTASMBOTB

"Southampton are keen to keep hold of the Euro 2016 winner, but they are bracing themselves for interest in Soares this summer with City and several other big clubs keeping tabs on his progress". Cedric is happy here, he has a long contract, Ralph says we don't want to keep selling our best players, negotiations on a selling price to the Chinese are on-going, a new owner will want the assets that already exist before deciding on future needs and we are the patsies who just give in when City can't prise their preferred targets away from bigger clubs... you couldn't make it up but of course they just did! City can have all the interest they like in their third choice option to replace ageing players but no way is this going any further than paper-talk. Do the press not understand that we might actually have spotted the potential of a - Soares, Carceras, van Dyke, Bertrand - back line ?

Come on people, the very last thing we need is for one of our most creative players to leave because he feels the fan base are beginning to desert him. He is a firm favourite at SMS and let's be clear about this, who is not thrilled by expectation every time Dusan Tadic receives the ball at his feet in space. For me he is worth the price of admission on his own. There absolutely is room in the team for both Dusan and Boufal if Puel would change his mindset for a few matches. All the time he or more likely Les insists on starting with Redmond & Ward Prowse then two of our most gifted talents will suffer humiliation and frustration and there can only be one outcome of that. We have an identical situation with Jorde Classie and Pierre Hojberg both exciting young talents who are being ignored at our peril. Puel was asked the other day about how difficult it is for a manager to keep everyone happy when not in the first team, now we are seeing the fall-out and one is bound to ask if he is up to that particular task with all this open talk of dissatisfaction. Once the seed is sown....

Bloody freeloader, sponging off the state. Get on yer bloody bike! -
Just wishful thinking really, KL wants out otherwise none of these rumours would arise in the first place let alone persist. What's the point of an owner who doesn't want to be here? Obviously to the Liebherr's Trust SFC is just another investment ("she wishes to diversify her investments") and explains in a jot all the comings and goings and upheaval of recent years since Marcus died. Looking back you could easily take the view that emotionally we backed the wrong horse when Cortese walked, he may well have been the one to take us to another level rather than KL but of course without the expressed backing of the owner he was not in a position to do that financially. You do not need to be an expert of family politics to work out how Marcus's love of Cortese as a proxy-son played out with KL and other family members. Gnashing of teeth and sharpening of blades no doubt! Of course the lady got what she wanted ibut that game may have played itself out now and the prize no longer is of importance.

I have the same uneasy feeling as you about this despite the reassuring noises about minority interests and KL hanging in there as a minority shareholder with the intent of keeping a watchful eye on Corporate Governance and Fulfilment. Nor would I expect Ralph Kreuger to be here after KL has gone, he is after all her man. Nor can I see what is in this for the Chinese. Their usual motivation is investment of hot cash as cash is not king these days and UK property is seen globally as a nailed on cast iron certainty to retain its value, grow your capital and provide income - a nice little earner if ever there was one! Paying £190m for SFC would be a very bad move especially with a £50m debt. We are where we are with no immediate prospect of improving to a top six level club so where will any growth of capital come from. It is even likely that the club's value would decline unless huge investment is made by a new owner to push the club on with better players and staff and better facilities. So that's more money on top of the buy-in cost as well. To me that makes little sense and for that reason I just cannot see this deal happening at all. The Chinese are not known for making highly risky decisions with their cash investments as we have seen already with the new nuclear reactor deal that they are involved in. If it happens the Club ethos will change, no doubt about that. SFC may well cease to be the family friendly outfit that so many of us have loved over the years, the price that fans could pay to become a 'bigger' club.

Playing with two holding midfielders is probably a temporary measure until we get back to full strength at CB. At the moment one suspects the second DMF is there primarily to cover Stephens' Rrse

You're missing the point, why always Dusan when Puel favourite Redmond rarely gets subbed early even when he was as bad as he was on Sunday. Complaining about Dusan's lack of goals is rather ironic considering Redmond is no more prolific. In fact Boufal is the natural left wing sub not right wing.

... or you could just have humoured him and acknowledged that Spurs are a better and more complete team than Saints. Monday morning and you want to "smash' somebody already. It was football match old lad, one that we didn't win like the other 11 we did not win in the league this season so lighten up and see if you can find a change of mood before Friday. It was not the outbreak of World War 3 after all.

Not at the game then?
-
Davis wasn't the only one, Ward-Prowse was all but bloody invisible in comparison, how he contrived to score is anybody's guess, Davis, Redmond & W-P should have been off at HT. Agree Hojberg should have been given some time. We've lost Boufal, his head is not here anymore. Can't see him staying in the summer.

Not even at the races for the first half and without Gabbiadini we're back to square one all hustle and bustle and no end products. Looked like a typical end of season performance, apart from Romeu and Cedric nobody else looked arsed about the result.

My email to the club concerningpre-game music and atmosphere

Probably best if you quit now then as most fans go there to watch a football match not to take part in an adolescent "talent" contest. I like the fact that the PA system drowns out the moronic "we hate Pompey" routine. -
Because you moron he is a bloody good goalkeeper

I make it 9 ex-Saints

Let's face it the match day experience at St Mary's is lousy and anything to spice it up would be welcome and long overdue. Don't hold your breath 'though as the club's fan surveys (one in action now) where people's opinions on this topic are canvassed are binned the second they are returned. Personally I turn up 10 minutes before ko watch the game, have a pee in the break and go home immediately after the final whistle. No time or no interest to spend money up there on junk food or a "programme" that never tells you anything you don't already know and never lists the starting XI.

Yep! That just about nails it for me as well.

Any room in your team for Forster, mate? -
Doubtful, how tall is Joe Hart then? Isn't there a rule that a goalkeeper cannot be taller than the crossbar of a goal, thought I'd read that somewhere?
