Cheer up! The wedding will be a darned sight more interesting than anything that takes place up at St Mary's tomorrow afternoon. Two teams with no ambition, two mangers with no vision... perfect recipe. See, you've cheered up a bit already and don't forget you'll get bugger all for free at SMS least of all a couple of stiff drinks. Always look on the bright side!

The weather may be the winner tomorrow not only destructive winds are forecast but lots of rain as well. The BBC do love these dramas and one must take their worst predictions with a large pinch of salt but that's been their way since 1987. No way they'll risk being caught with their trousers down again. Having said that this one looks particularly nasty so if they do decide to abandon the match let's hope they have the guts to do it early enough to save many of us long journeys for nothing.

I'll have a go... Forster Cedric Yoshida Hoedt Bertrand Lemina Romeu Tadic Boufal McQueen Gabbiadini

Pellegrino was told in August by Mr Gao that there would be no new funds for buying players so why are people expecting the situation to have changed since then. Let's face it there has been only one siting of the new owner in St Mary's since the takeover so he can't be that bothered about the teams fortunes other than to protect his safe haven money investment.

What strengths would those be then? Cracking poor jokes?

That horse bolted long ago, there is no other way to success now in any sport. Money is King - or Queen for the PC's. In football it's been like that for ever for Real Madrid and Barcelona and you don't hear too many complaints about pyrrhic victories in Spain.

As a Saints supporter why are you so pleased about this that you want to give it even more air on here boy starting thread. Weird and Pathetic!
-
Really great that our first team can beat their reserves, progress at last! On a more serious note Hojberg looks fantastic in the AMF role so get him in on Saturday instead of relying on Davis again.

Um! If you were there as you say, the only inference from your comments is that you are an apologist for the Lying Dutchman. It was quite clear to most observers that he was only going through the motions with little effort to do more than the bare minimum. He was coasting throughout maybe because he is nowhere near fit or more likely just jogging through to the time he gets parole. If this remains his attitude than get him as far away from the team as possible and settle in Hoedt who was brought in to replace him presumably. I want players out there who will put everything they've got on the line for their team like Oriol Romeu and Cedric Soares.

Oh! and why wait until Christmas to sack Pellegrino?
-
An Attacking Midfielder We need and Attacking Midfielder! We don't need Redmond, now that Ward-Prowse has been sacked Redmond has become chief passer back and play-stopper! Not surprised Bertie is ****ed off with that berk in front of him. Big Shout-out for Boufal and Gabbi - play them every week for goodness sake Pellegrini, we've been telling you long enough. Austin - Not a Clue! van Dyke - Is he sulking or useless, can't make up my mind. Anyway get Hoedt in and chuck him out for good,

It needed saying. One doubts that the club pay much heed to what fan forums say but when a national broadsheet takes a swipe somebody will take notice. In his interviews Pellegrino looked distinctly uncomfortable and hesitant, a sign perhaps that his recent meetings with the board have not been quite as friendly as they used to be a few weeks ago?

Getting older - was it this bad for everyone?
Charlie Wayman replied to thesaint sfc's topic in The Lounge
That's a bloody good summary of Saints performances right now. -
Quite interesting that one of the citations against Strachan's regime was it operated 'a reign of terror'. He was very clearly of the old school of British coaches who placed physical attributes above skill. All I can remember of his time here now was that the players were fitter than they had ever been and with good stamina up to the end of games. There were no stories here of a reign of terror but maybe that's how he got us up to 4th for a while and into the FA Cup Final? He will never be a top coach and Scotland need better.
-
Absolutely agree with all who insist that Boufal and Gabbi start the next half dozen games just to see what they can do as Redmond has had his many chances and not taken them and Long is an impact player. Gabbi is good enough for Gli Azzurri so might just be good enough for us.....
-
Let's be sensible, they're not that much better now! The old scouser fans new a bit about these things and always took a rolled up newspaper and wore wellies to home matches in the Kop! I didn't make that up.

This could be one long boring Sunday afternoon

..... or Wupert for that matter!

The Black Box was, is and always be bull****

If Shearer rates him then that is pretty much all the confirmation you need to know he is crap.
-
That argument is completely fallacious as we are not in any way comparable to Arsenal this season. You are surmising that we should be challenging for the top 6 whereas in reality we are struggling to be even top 10 this season. Walcott is better than anybody who would want to come here and is remotely affordable for us.
-
What the heck is wrong with Bertrand he doesn't look fit at all, too slow getting forward, too slow to get back, hopeless positioning, passing backwards and slowing up play. No wonder he got booed late on. So it's not just when he plays for us, is he over the hill already?

Seems we have found our level, a good championship side.
