  1. He was being ironic, sandwich!
  2. Pedantic but necessary. Keep up!
  3. It's a wind up, best not to bite.
  4. Complete tosh! Admit it, you just made this up cos you don't like him.
  5. Really weird Premier League now, seven clubs from London, only five Northen clubs and three on the south coast. Hardly representative of the country as a whole.
  6. Surprised that Man City aren't in the top five. How many points will they be deducted?
  7. Excuse me? I am one of your 'older fans' who has had a mobile phone for over 30 years, enjoys social media and can perform 21st century miracles on my MacBook Pro. I also have a very good personal relationship with ChatGTP. If people younger than I haven't kept up wiith the digital revolution they have only themselves to blame. As time goes by those lacking essential IT skills will be left far behind; the world will move on and nobody will care two hoots about them. All this whinging about offering easier alternatives for the hard of learning only excerbates the situation. All I ask of the Club is that their IT systems are robust and fit for purpose when all this is rolled out. That was not the case for Wembley tickets.
  8. Doubt we will need options. The player will have a say in his own future and if he loives it here and loves working with Martin then it will be only a matter of setting the price. WHU saying they want "another look at him" is tantamount to saying we will have to pay top price to get him. I have no doubt whatsoever that he will be a Southampton player next season.
  9. Don't Labour the point.
  10. There are lots of folk on here whose posts are worth reading and quite a few that aren't. Some deserve long service medals, others sway with the wind, vocal when we win; invisible when we lose! You know who you are. The Ignore option filters out the bad and the ugly leaving only the good! Great to live in a sanatised world isn't it? My vote goes to @Wade Garrett, it shouldn't I know but his match previews are strangely compulsive. Let's hope that this honour does not mean that he over reaches himself in the future and disppoints through a lack of spontaniety. A shout out for @Whitey Grandad and @Lighthouse for their invaluable common sense in keeping things simple and brief. Thank you too to all on my good list for the entertainment that helps keep us sane when all else is falling apart.
  11. Should we be in for Kalvin Phillips on loan from Man City? Our future can't be built upon 36 yo pension seeking ex-players...
  12. Why not, he has certainly mastered the art of unlocking difficult opposition defences.
  13. You really should have gone to Specsavers 😂
  14. Spot on! That is the harsh reality of life and there are some tough and uncomfortable decisions to be made ahead. We must hope that the board and Russell Martin have the bottle to do it. There will need to be a root and branch clear out of deadwood as well as the pursuit of a few quality players and the deadwood at that level will be extensive. All of us will have opinions on that and collectively we would probably want to see the back of most of them! What we might agree on is that the old timers are probably too old to be incorporated into a new team fit for purpose in the PL and some of the kids who have not made much of an impact in the Championship need to be moved on to allow headroom for the next crop. There will always be enigmas like Kameldeen Sulemana and Carlos Alacaraz, probably they should be given a chance in the PL simply because they are young players with as yet unrealised potential. What we cannot afford to see on August 17th is the same team that started yesterday and I mean that with all due respect and admiration for what they have achieved this season.
  15. The players and the manager have done ther talking on the pitch and congratulations to them. Thye have surprised us and possibly themselves. Well done the Saints! Now the hard work begins. I'm not Martin's biggest fan but he deserves his shot at management in the Premier League. It's up to the owners now to bak him by making sure we keep KWP, THB and FD and buy at the vey least a PL quality fullback, midfielder and striker. We don't want to be back in the Championship anytime soon if ever. Today is a day for celebration and a well earned rest at least for the players and coaches. Lets hope our first match is not against City for their sake!
  16. Don't be so ridiculous, we've been promoted three times since then!
  17. For goodness sake cheer up man, its only a bloody football match. If we lose, we lose, there's always next year.
  18. Lets see how he gets on without KWP, THB and FD to bale him out of trouble. Gone by Christmas is my bet.
  19. Far better on the day to be seen as the underdogs, now the whole country will be rooting for us. Only downside is the asociation with Sunak which might cost us a few votes.
  20. I imagine Sunak will join the SFC board after the election, that will ensure five more years of chaos at SMS. This will be a rugged match and not that attractive to watch, too much at stake and too few of our players will be able to rise to the occasion. These are not circumstances that suit our style at all and if we go one down early on the chances are we will not be able to respond. Sadly, I think we will lose out by the odd goal. 1-0 to Leeds.
  21. There will be plenty on offer from touts outside the stadium, always are. Several problems to consider; "are they genuine", "price" and (unless you have a map of the seating area wth you to check) "where is the seat" being offered. I advise anybody who is that desperate to get inside to be very cautious indeed before parting with their money. Stay home, mow the lawn, grab a beer and watch the box. The result will be the same, you'll be £500 better off on Monday and glad you weren't there to see the humiliation of defeat if we lose..
  22. How does that work then except in your dreams 😂
  23. It's logic Jim but not as we know it!
  24. Why not, we scored three against the Baggies without them.
  25. I'll be with you in the trenches for sure.
