  1. The boys played really well last night, seemed to outclass the opposition with some very slick touch and run football with which Colchester could not cope. On that showing they would have beaten our first team. Our second goal was sheer brilliance, one of the goals of the season if anybody was watching.
  2. Any streams?
  3. If Ings reaches double figures, I'll eat my hat!
  4. He was our first choice goal keeper when he got his new contract, was playing well and the Club were trying to respond to criticism of us always loosing our best players to the Big Boys by trying to tie him to the club more firmly. Still, don't let the facts spoil your rant.
  5. The nasty boo boys have been on Cedric's back for ages and you'll never change their blinkered way of judging him. This season he was very late back from holiday after the WC and it is no surprise that he wasn't fully up to speed immediately but of course the nasty boys were sticking the knife in straight away. On Saturday Hughes was impressed with him and more or less said that those late back from WC duties were now catching up and we saw an outstanding performance from him with that notable defence splitting pass setting up the sitter for Ings being one of the highlights of the match. Cedric may not be perfect but who is in this imperfect team. We are very lucky to have him and when Elyounoussi settles we will have a very strong attacking right flank.
  6. Don't be daft, Hoedt helped keep a clean sheet and Benteke was neutralised and didn't score. Best you don't let your prejudices blind you when watching.
  7. What would be the point of bringing in players who are medically fit, would only add to Hughes already considerable team selection problems in knowing who his best XI was each Saturday. Having loads of players in the treatment room limits his options which helps him look more decisive in pressers. Long gets the call once again. "When I was playing, which mind you was a long time ago, we'd not let an excuse like having a broken leg stop us being out there on the pitch giving our all on a Saturday afternoon..."
  8. To you maybe sunshine but not to anybody else. Weird comment.
  9. Didn't we sell Walcott & Bale to stave off bankruptcy? Force majeur rather than through choice, same with Andrew Surman who always gets over-looked in discussions on this topic.
  10. You have a very good basis there for a long and happy marriage, I'll give it two years!
  11. You wasted a post telling us that. I know bloody well he's not in this squad, what the hell has that got to do with anything?
  12. Not sure Southgate is all he is cracked up to be on the evidence of his squad selection today. Ryan Bertrand is by far the best modern LB in the PL right now and it is a travesty that he hasn't been invited along. Young is just a static lump and Rose is a liability. Luke Shaw has had one good match and that's enough... ? If it's about the future, my guess is that Ryan will still be wowing fans in the PL when Gareth Who? has long departed the Wembley dug-out. Alex good luck to you mate you are at least better looking than that bloke up north.
  13. Exactly this. Very few have a bad word to say about Gabbi but there may be no point in persisting with talents that are alien to Dinosaur mangers
  14. You've summarised my thoughts entirely. It might even get worse however infeasible that sounds. We seem to be going through the motions with no plan at all.
  15. That is a cheap and silly reply, you know exactly what I mean.
  16. Hindsight is wonderful, 20/20 vision indeed! Nobody could have possibly foreseen that Bielsa might succeed at Leeds so why would anybody else have taken a punt on him? In any case it's very early days yet, half a dozen matches in and you're flagging him up as a world beating manager. Unbelievable! Let's see how things are at Christmas and next May before we hail the arrival of the new Guardiola.
  17. Do you think it might have something to do with the total imbalance of the premier league in finances and player quality and the fact that 14 clubs have no hope of winning anything anymore or even attracting even half-decent players? The romantic ideal of any competition is that you are in it to win it but quite evidently at least 14 clubs including us are just making up the numbers in the PL. In the Championship for example you can win it and there's the goal and incentive that players and fans need. In the PL there is nothing, it is hard for anybody to get excited about finishing 7th, squabbling over that 'honour' with the likes of Leicester, Everton & Burnley! We are not in it to win it as we cannot possibly win it (or even get close) so what exactly are we in it for so what exactly are fans supposed to get excited about. The surprise to me is that so many turn up week after week but surely the situation is unsustainable and gradually the habit of watching what is now on offer as entertainment will lose its appeal.
  18. Plenty of speculation around now, my guess is they've asked to leave and negotiations are taking place for loans or transfers to clubs abroad. Only a few days left now to sort this out before the window is finally closed in Europe. We'll know by the end of this week.
  19. I think that's right 'though what you might prefer to call crosses - which implies purposeful - are to me little more than speculative lobs into the box. Real crosses should be high, low, fast, slow all with purpose. We never seem able for example to drive crosses across the 6 yard box form the bye-line with speed for players to run onto, if we did Gabbiadini & Ings would excel.
  20. It was a clear dive and laughably amateurish. The bloke needs a lobotomy. He'd recover from the earlier tackle on him and as soon as he crossed the 18yd line he had given up on trying to reach the ball again and went for the coward's option. He's a wild bugger that lad and will be on a string of yellows and reds unless he gets his head sorted out. I thought Romeu was wild but this guy is raw meat!
  21. Why blame the defenders, the attack couldn't score goals even when we were well on top, even the much lauded Ings was hopeless today never having got into the match. At Saints for two weeks and already his goal scoring instincts have been coached out of him. Familiar pattern?
  22. Utter Bilge! Definitely going down unless we rid ourselves of this dinosaur of a manager. All huff and puff but no plan and no end product. Typical of Hughes in fact.
  23. You really are a naive and gullible old fool.
  24. Top marks to the King of Trolls. Either that or you are a blithering idiot!
  25. He contradicted himself today when asked if he knew what was his best XI "I have a pretty good idea". Last week he said he didn't have a best XI as such just a solid 25 man squad from which to pick a side each week depending upon the oppo. Er, players back late from WC still having an impact whilst others have disappointed by not realising the full potential he had hoped for from them... Starting to blame the players then for our poor start, not his training methods, playing style or tactical nous. OK, Mark we'll take that with a wee pinch of salt then.
