What! You cannot be serious. Obviously you have never watched Obafemi over the years.
-
Poor show from you. No need for this sarcasm directed towards one of our ex-players who gave us some good service during his time here.
-
Mac that is not Crouch just to clarify as I was replying to the previous message.
-
Only ever saw him as 'hanger on' on the make.
-
The best guy we ever had at the top was Leon Crouch who was a real fan and put his own money in when we were skint. Nobody talks about him much anymore but boy could we do with somebody with his leadership now. "Ask not what Saints can do for me but what can I do for the Saints" should be the first question asked of any new owner.

A goalkeeper is only as good as the 10 players in front of him (old Finnish proverb).
-
Saw him in action a few times, certainly a very instinctive and effective goalkeeper in the days when athleticism was not part of a player's portfolio, footballs weighed about a half tonne when wet and moved proportionately slower so hard to judge how he fits in the pantheon of the all time greats. The Pele save did not help us win the world cup sadly but glad that he achieved that goal in 1966. Sad end to his career. RIP

I hope he sits the young kids in a barber's chair and one by one personally shaves off all that stupid facial fungus even if he infringes their human rights. Sims especially looks a right cock and somebody should tell him. What are they hiding from or are they just too idle to get out of bed in the mornings to wash & shave?

Parking for the football and parking charge notices

Just remember chaps it's only about £4.50 to park for the match in the City Centre car parks. -
Saints 1 Cardiff City 2 post match dissection
Charlie Wayman replied to Crab Lungs's topic in The Saints
Of course you are right, it is the elephant in the room when discussing Saints prospects under this manager for next season. Our performance in the transfer market has been woeful for a number of years, not least because we are not an attractive prospect for any incoming players of real merit. We end up with so much dross because these are the only players who will come here. The very idea that we will succeed in bringing in several high quality players who can make a difference to our future prospects in this summer's transfer window is so laughable that it amazes me how many on here blithely promote the idea that such an outcome is at all realistic. -

Didn't Hassenhuttl say that if he couldn't keep Saints up then he would have failed in his job and wouldn't expect to stay. Meaning of course that he'd badger off. Let's face it if he can't keep us up then I doubt many on here would want him here anyway? -
Yoshi didn't figure until we on here screamed the place down, wonder if we're having the same impact with Bertie? Just saying.
-
There isn't a single explanation of Ryan Bertrand's absence that cannot be contradicted by other situations other than that Hassenhuttl has a personality clash with the lad. The coach comes across to me as a rules driven bully boy; if you don't conform you're out. My guess Ryan he is being deliberately ****ed off so that he will ask for a transfer in the summer. (check training pics) Gao no doubt sees him as an asset worth £20/24m, not as player with feelings.

Surely we can just say NO, it's a very powerful word when we still have the cash!

Keeping Track of the Contracts 2024-25
Charlie Wayman replied to Over land and sea's topic in The Saints
Too bloody true and what's more they all add to the bloody wage bill. Perhaps we make more money being a rent-a-mob business? -
Good to see him in today's pics. Looks a bit shell shocked, jet-lagged probably but hope he will feature on Saturday. Ryan looks a bit disillusioned, hope he is not losing heart. Please play him at the weekend Alpine Klopp. Another great new signing announced on the O/S today.............. Who he?

For sure if it goes on like this we would be mad to make Ing's loan deal permanent in the summer. This really will be a tough decision for the club as the lad is clearly talented as we saw with his worldie against Arsenal but we just don't have enough money to indulge in sentimentality. Presumably they'll give Carillo & Boufal every chance of rehabilitation before pressing any buttons on Ings. Right now I'd be doing whatever it takes to get Augustin in the summer and let Danny go.
-
We have to play Bertrand, Yoshida & Hojberg fit or not, injured or not, knackered or not. This is a 12 pointer - win we stay up, lose we go down, draw and we'll all die of boredom. Odds are we'll draw for the 10th time this season. It seems we are finding it nigh on impossible to beat the teams around us home or away which as somebody observed the other day which makes us no better than them in a nutshell. Surely Long has played for the last time? So we're likely stuck with Austin up top, so lots of long aimless balls into the 18 yard area in the hope that he is standing close enough to one to reach it with his head.

Callum Slattery - Official: Signs for Motherwell
Charlie Wayman replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
...but he shouldn't be, not yet, nowhere near ready. -
One good point from yesterday was seeing Gao at the match. Obviously there to see his new players in action. Good news also that he could afford the train fare so rumours of us being broke are just a little wide of the mark. Our football has sunk to an all time low when fans have seen very little to interest them other than a couple of fouls in the penalty area. We were promised high press, swift recovery and lots of fast forward play excitement as per the miles of video footage of RB Leipzig in action. Sigh! Those were the days eh?
-
What's your own view or can you only criticise other people's? At least he offers something for others to think about.
-
We joke about Lovely old Les but since he got that job at the FA it is noticeable that Southgate has rocked up at a Saints match or two. Co-incidence or what? Maybe he's still pushing 'his' super Academy at Staplewood line even know. Friends in high places are always worth having. Maybe he'll be more use to us there than here?
-
We'll need a 200% improvement in our play over the lamentable display of Wednesday evening to come away from there with anything. They are in a fine vein of form and seem to have found their self belief again. They were always a good side and their league position is surprising after last year's heroics. Dyke is still a good manager and we are easy to read so like Palace they will probably neutralise our high press with balls over the midfield to the wingers who will likely run Valery & Targett ragged all afternoon. The omens are not good as you say. I think it will be the odd goal either way that settles it.
-
Told you so! Nobody is surprised are they. Asset strippers are always asset strippers. Time to rid ourselves of these grasping, profiteering owners and their sycophantic servants but how?
-
Goal machine? LOL he has been called many things including a "useless waste of space" and a "t*sser" but "goal machine". I'll have some of what you're on please.
