It may be that when playing at high speed with a high press and their engines at peak revs, their thinking process is so fast that their finishing is also too hurried. It cannot be easy to suddenly slow down the adrenalin flow and give yourself a second or so to think through your options before shooting. Such composure is not available at the switch of a tap.

Great game for Sofiane last night. Catch his interview on the OS, what a guy total commitment to the club and not at all arrogant as he is often portrayed to be by his critics. He looks like he could be a star player for us this season. If Redmond is out for a few weeks this will be his big chance, he will know it and we should hope that he grasps it.

Our finishing is woeful, we just cannot afford to be so wasteful. Ings is supposed to be a striker otherwise why is he in the team?
-
That works very well for me but it won't be how Ralph sees it sadly. He daren't leave out our local poster boy and of course he brought in Adams to the club. Boufal won't get a start under Hasenhütl.

The best team one easily and outclassed us. Big question surely over Jaidi's tactical nouse. Too many unimaginative performances like this under his tutelage. Time for a change? Ross Wiison was there tonight as well as Ralph so writing on wall? -

Klarer and Ramsey having mares, defence is as leaky as a colander. 'Pool useless at the back but lots of long balls catching us square and they have pacy front runners. No real protection from Slattery or Smallbone, both want to get forward too much leaving gaping holes in the middle. Attack also toothless and frustratingly slow at getting to some good through-balls. No one playing particularly well on our side which must be a worry as "Pool are a poor side currently bottom of the league. Hoping we respond to a well deserved wake-up call at HT but can see this going only one way otherwise -

They did last week as well Last week they let locals in for free, not sure how you qualified but worth going down there if living nearby -
Yes

So you are not a fan of 8-1-1 then?
-
Are you suggesting that Brighton fans have better judgement than us?
-
So do we.
-
I suspect all of what you say is right. Redmond is very spasmodic and spends large parts of many games in anonymity.
-
Atta Boy!

Were the Saints really as bad as Black ckmore made them sound? Comments on BBC HYS suggest Brighton fans thought we deserved to win because of we were a well organised team. Didn't sound the way on Solent
-
Boufal!

Really is a shambles this afternoon. I agree with earlier comments, too many of our players are in their wrong positions and the 4-2-2-2 just isn't working. Nobody coming out of this with much credit not even Ralph. Whole team needs a damn good bollocking at HT
-
Perhaps most fans were fairly happy with our performance and did not see the need to come on here and join the usual nay-sayers in a melt down?
-
Rubbish! "You don't know what you're talking about"
-
What a load of drivel

I guess you were looking for something smart and original to say but your comment is utter tosh. If it proves to be one of the Scousers worst performance it will because Saints limited and frustrated them for most of the afternoon and stopped them playing they way they like to play. In the first half particularly the visitors were second best and had to play the way we wanted to play. Shame they've got Mane and we're stuck with Ings, a two-way swap that is quite unequal. It's always worth going to matches to find out what really happened.

Thought Boufal would have been on the bench today, he's been really good in training.
-
We can be pretty happy about that. Considering we missed three easy goal scoring chances it could so easily have been a decent victory. Most of the lads did well but too catastrophic errors by Bednarek and we were two down. His ball distribution was frankly awful and seems always to be caught in two minds when on the ball under pressure We are told that our visitors are possibly the best team in the world but for sure they didn't look like it today.

Have you checked copyright of the pictures? Be careful...

This is really good news for everyone involved and I wish him well if this happens. He was great keeper for us in the early days and maybe a fresh start will restore his confidence and prolong his career. Fingers crossed for the big man!
