  1. Saints won't go down, that privilege is reserved for Bournemouth, Burnley & Watford. Saints may be flawed but they are not a poor side. Those other three teams are poor sides playing one dimensional hoofball most of the time. We are a big team they are not. It's not meant to be.
  2. Wishful thinking. Can you honestly see anything changing this season, no money means no extra quality anywhere on or off the pitch.
  3. A dubious claim as you are one of the knockers who always single him out for abuse however well or badly he plays. What's your agenda against him when many of us disagree entirely with you?
  4. This is exactly why we have to take our chances when they come then there would be no need to moan about individual players letting us down defensively. When a defender makes a mistake it may lead to a goal against, an attacker misses an easy chance (aka makes a mistake) that should have been a goal for yet somehow it is just written off on here as one of those things. If we scored more goals we wouldn't need to hang on and panic under pressure Why don't the boo boys have a go at the strikers for a change?
  5. Thank you. Good to have a well balanced point of view on here for once.
  6. Have you seen test films viewed under controlled conditions in which 4K, HD and old fashioned TV have been inter-spliced without sign-posting; audiences were unable to tell which definition they were watching or when? Streaming 4K on our internet system is very difficult so are you sure you were watching 4K? Just asking.
  7. What about supporting the team 'though, the players can't see or hear you on TV!
  8. I can't go to SMS at the moment for health reasons so am constrained to watch wherever I can. I signed up for Prime Video and the picture on our 55" Sony screen last night was amazing. Commentary not bad either. On the downside, the stadium looked half empty. Live cheap streaming of every game especially at peak KO times might mean the end of football in packed stadia as we know it especially when the weather is as bad as it has been this winter. The PL will have noted this and might be slightly alarmed. It is mostly about money but packed grounds is part of the sales package image surely. Will they be content just to airbrush out empty seats despite their apparent disdain of fans in general?
  9. No. Why change a winning team, it is more than the sum of its parts? Barring fitness issues we should send out the same side with a high-press attacking intent. Sofiane on at HT and Oriol Romeu ready to shore up the defence in the last quarter. 3-1 to Saints if we start as we did last. night.
  10. A point a game will keep us up. Scoring twice against a packed defence augurs well for the future. Obviously we need to pace ourselves for 90 minutes rather than 70 but otherwise we looked far the better team, more creative and purposeful. Another good performance from Ward Prowse suggests he has turned some sort of personal corner, long may it last. Good to see him passing forwards creatively at last.
  11. Agree. No point reading comments by idiots like Ottawa and DT who have been season long Cedric haters and can't wait to stick the knife in irrespective of what actually happens on the pitch. As they never set foot inside SMS their views at best are worthless based on film clips so best ignored.
  12. Sadly, Obafemi was not great even in the U23's , very one dimensional and un imaginative so difficult to understand where Ralph is coming from persisting with the guy. who Really needs to go out on loan to a League 1 outfit.
  13. We've all been there, stubbed toes on doors that sort of thing. They never heal that quickly. Ralph has probably compounded the problem by using him on Saturday but some may say it was worth it as he helped secure our win. Defo Ralph will not want to make matters any worse for the lad os no bench even for Boufal tomorrow. Anybody doing the game on Amazon Prime?
  14. To be fair the lad gets about 10mins on the pitch about every fifth week or so, so not sure how he is supposed to get match fit and sharp from those few limited opportunities.
  15. Looks like our year then. Best get those Wembley hotel rooms booked
  16. Sofiane Boufal is a huge talent as he demonstrated yet again on Saturday. Even Hasenhuttl begrudgingly praised him post match. With him and Djenepo as the support 2 behind Ings & Redmond on top in a 4-2-2-2 we should be able to tear most PL defences apart and score for fun...... ..... if only we knew how to defend.
  17. Jimmy Greaves Mk 2
  18. It's just that Hasenhuttl has his favourites and then some. If only he would play his best players very time and set favouritism / prejudice aside we might indeed have a good team. In my view it is difficult to understand how Cedric, Bertrand and Boufal only seem to be picked begrudgingly and are dropped like hot potato as soon as the opportunity occurs. As for Top Ten that is likely to be wishful thinking although a win on Wednesday and then again at the weekend would certainly restore a bit of pride and confidence and maybe banish the mass panic attacks that set in all too easily these days. 18 points come Sunday night would have us in a respectable position for once
  19. A very similar remark to yours got an MP sacked for sexism!
  20. I suppose you saw what you wanted to see. Best 'though not to write the script before the match and to be a bit more open minded.
  21. Of course Ward Prowse has had many poor games and has deserved criticism not least from me but yesterday he played very well and won us the match. He took up good positions in midfield always offering the out-ball to colleagues under pressure and he was using the ball well in possession with many penetrating passes into dangerous central areas of their third. Give credit where it is due he was our MotM yesterday. Let's hope it was not a flash in the pan.
  22. I didn't see this match, I was watching Saints v Watford on TV. Lots of good stuff played by us, we jus meed to take a pause, settle down and get composed. All a little frantic at times Ward Prowse was MotM by a country mile this evening. Good for him. Boufal and Djenepo on the wings must start. Redmond needs some time out, far too much aimless running around with no end product in sight.
  23. Maybe but you wouldn't exclude Targett or Ward Prowse, sims or Stephens from that charge surely. Just seems to have been a rather uninspired crop of youngsters from the Academy. On that basis alone isn't it worth giving Slattery a run of games to show us what he can do.
  24. None of this is going to happen very quickly, the new people will need time and space to work their magic and it may be far too late to save our PL status and valuation. Hopefully there are some realists on the board who are looking more to our long term recovery in the lower leagues rather than short term fixes for the current mess.
  25. Well, you know what they say taj two may be a co-incidence but three or more is a pattern. Of course there can be more than one pattern. If Gao suddenly gets the China Franchise for Red Bull then we'll close the circle.
