  1. We don't need anybody at the moment until Charles decides where his future lies Chez: Not sure JWP can be described as a journeyman. Chat GTP: Competent, reliable and experienced but not considered exceptional or at the top of their field.
  2. Why are we even talking about yesterday's journeyman, why would the club saddle themselves with a huge salary bill for a bit part player who has failed in the PL at WHU and could never challenge Downes and Jander for a starting place. Bragg is the future, our Academy lad made good if we really need "one of our own" for PR
  3. In some ways the quieter the better, it may mean that few if any of our players are agitating to get away in which case the Club will be in a great position to bat away speculative enquiries for our better players. If we lose none then the impertaive to buy replacements is reduced and we can face the rest of the window in a far more relaxed frame of mind. Cool heads make much better decisions. Yes, we have to replace Stewart and quite possibly Charles although there doesn't seem to be much disquiet from the player about wanting out. Fingers crossed that a pin dropping will be the only ditressing noise that we have to face in the run up to our first match.
  4. No. We need to move away from soft centred sentimentality. Move on.
  5. He's not naughty, he's just misunderstood.
  6. AI bots do not think, they review all the available information about a topic and summarises it in the form requested. It does only what any one of us could do if we had access to the same information but a billion times faster.
  7. I know it's a joke and I will lead the chorus of "He's not wanted here!" On the other hand, there's a broader issue for older players on high salaries as we have seen with Sterling. These people may hold out for what they see as their worth in the marketplace but like all goods they are only worth what people will be prepared to pay for them. These days money for most is tight and so when the time comes to spend, it will be spent wisely. In terms of players likely considerations will be "Is the player a game changer?"; "Can we get 2/3 seasons out of him?"; "Can we sell him on in the market for a profit?" "What's his injury record, how reliable will he be?"; " How flexible is the player, or Is he too set in his ways to be coached into a different style of play?" In JWP's case, very few of those boxes can be ticked and his future will be bleak if WHU discard him. One suspects his future offers might come from lower Championship sides or abroad in tha US, Middle East or a lesser European league. I'm not sure that would suit him at all, he seems like a home boy to me. As far as we are concerned, the days of "one of our own" sentimentality are surely behind us after the debacles of Theo, Adam and Oriol. We don't need and won't make that mistake again
  8. Much too gloomy. He's a good player and will get a better club than you fear. Bournemouth might take him back and even Villa as a back-up
  9. Most of our games will be on Sky so ST waste of money
  10. Hopefully Dragan has told them to do the proverbial
  11. Glad you're not taking it seriously
  12. or 'Start" even?
  13. Not only crap but way past their best whenever that was. Sounds like a transfer policy for League 1
  14. We need to keep him.
  15. I'd hoped for Bayern Munich when I saw the OS headline, more our level really...
  16. Sad that he only made a few brief appearances after his return But I suspect that or sentimentalty were not the main reasons he was brought in. Since he arrived all of our midfield players, Downes, Bragg, Jander and Charles have been improved out of all recognition from their former selves under Still. Co-incidence? I don't think so, more likely he has been encouraging and coaching those guys in the dark arts of midfield play in the background, quietly, efficiently and without distracting publicity. Like many others I absolutely loved the guy and sad to say farewell ¡Gracias, buena suerte y que tu futuro esté bendecido con felicidad!
  17. Bit unneccsary silly comment
  18. You need to drill down deeper than this
  19. What options did he have anyway? Who else would want him as first choice RB? He's nowhere near PL level so we are probably his best and only chance of playing there again.
  20. Google search. Championship clubs must notify the EFL of their retained players by the third Saturday in May. Clubs competing in the play-offs are granted an automatic extension, while exact dates for publication to the public vary by club. [1, 2, 3, 4] The deadlines and submission rules include: Initial Notification Deadline: Clubs must formally notify players of their contract decisions and submit their lists to the English Football League by mid-May (for example, May 16th). [1, 2] Play-Off Exception: Clubs that are involved in the end-of-season play-offs receive an extended deadline to submit their lists to accommodate their prolonged season. [1, 2] Public Release: While lists are submitted to the league on the EFL's primary deadline, individual clubs have some flexibility on exactly when they make the news public. You can check BBC for rolling, league-wide announcements or your club's official site for hyper-specific local dates. [1, 2] Southampton FC has not yet published its full official men's retained and released list, though reports indicate it is expected to be released shortly. The delayed publication stems from the club's extended season, as they were knocked out of the Championship play-off picture. [1] Current expectations for the squad updates include: Women's Team List: The Southampton FC Women's Retained List was officially confirmed, showing seven out-of-contract player departures, including club captain Atlanta Primus. [1] Key Retained Elements: Reports from fan sites like St Mary's Saints indicate plans to keep essential figures such as James Bree, Ross Stewart, Daniel Peretz, and Cyle Larin. [1] Potential Expiring Contracts: Per tracking from the Daily Echo, first-team players whose deals expire this month include Alex McCarthy, Joe Aribo, Will Smallbone, Charlie Taylor, and Oriol Romeu. Striker Ross Stewart has been offered an extension but is still deciding whether to sign
  21. I would, he always was and always will be a journeyman who can take a good free kick. Otherwise he is just average crap
  22. This. We beat them fair and square over two legs.
  23. Whose side are you on?
