Strong Portvilet vibes about chucking all these young guys in at the deep end and hoping it just works and we can flog them on for multi millions.

Worrying that our major CB signing so far this year is behind Yan Valery for a starting slot. Salisu has been pretty poor since Xmas time and seems to have regressed massively. Must be a decent semi experienced in an ok league CB somewhere that hasn’t played for Man Cities youth sides that we could sign?! Shame Coady seems to be heading to Everton. Would love a mobile Pelle style striker as well but not heard anything in a while linking us with Sasa K at Stuttgart. Feel a bit like we are trying to be too clever with our signings hoping to make a wedge to reinvest at a later date. Sometimes a round peg in a round hole will be just fine!

Think Kalajdzic Dembele Mara front three ❤️ obviously no chance but would be a great window and if nothing else could out score teams like an ardieles Spurs side !

Has there been anymore said about kalajdzic? Seemed like he would be a decent fit here. Presumably dependent on what happens with Broja?

Personally don’t see the benefits to us of a team portfolio for SR. Can’t imagine too many high quality players will be arriving to our shores from the Turkish second division. Would prefer them to establish us first rather than messing about trying to be some sort of mega investor in football. Disappointed so far but not entirely unexpected as the owners don’t appear to have the sort of cash needed to make a splash in the Premier league.

For 4.5 billion he could have pocketed Southampton and had 4 billion left over to make us title winners😂

Agree on the scale of rebuild required but not a chance are we bringing in 30 million on Ely and Redmond! Feel like we definitely need a new number 1 GK pity we renewed Macca rather than Fraser. Ideally we need a decent attacking midfielder in the Tadic mold. Need someone who continually creates chances as our strikers need about 3:1 goals.

Shame about the kid from Fulham, doubt we ever really had a chance but not sure these big moves are good for early career development. would have liked a new Lallana type but we should be ok until the summer.

😂 didn’t the football hipsters trot out some stat about how he had the best goals to minutes ratio in the league or some such? Sadly he had few goals in not many minutes ! Biggest face palm signing ever!

When you think about it that’s actually an awful lot he needs to learn after being here nearly 3 years! His substitutions are poor and he rarely seems to change the style of play when we get under the cosh. If he weren’t such a nice guy he’d probably have been sacked already. The 4 year deal he signed will end up costing us 100 million if we go down on top of his pay off (still can’t get my head around paying a managers contract up when they fail to do the job well!)

Same old same old under Ralph. Good first half without really creating a lot. Second half bit clueless, other side get on top and very little changes seem to be made. I do worry that he is a bit of a 1 trick pony.

Do you honestly think that’s a premier league standard CB partnership that won’t leave us scrabbling around at the bottom end? This squad and preparation aren’t looking great and probably are down on quality on an already low quality squad from last year.

Concerning that our striker search is limited by age rather than by ability. If Ings goes we will be up the creek next season. Sounds like Bertrand is off as well, think I’d rather keep him than give Theo a 2/3 year deal.

Slightly miffed by how Vesty seems to just stop once he’s had an attempt at a tackle. Never seems to be busting a gut to get back in position. overall not the worst result and hopefully paves the way for better ones in the next few weeks.
