  1. If he had not turned up, it doesnt bear thinking about what sort of club we would have now. Thank you RIP
  2. So it is relevant then ? ;-)
  3. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/tottenham-hotspur/10827311/Tim-Sherwood-sacked-by-Spurs-after-showdown-talks-with-Daniel-Levy-with-club-set-to-move-for-Mauricio-Pochettino.html interesting times ahead...
  4. True, but there cant be too many games where there are more players than away fans !! Even at that level.
  5. Loving the comments :-) Appparently AS have sold 8 tickets !!! Not quite being treated as their Cup Final then :-)
  6. In fact they have two sides that play Hampshire league on Saturdays. There are also 4 colts teams. Under 9, 11, 13 & 15. http://vtcc.play-cricket.com/home/home.asp for more details follow the link above :-)
  7. Sad news One of the best players to have pulled on a football shirt. Wonderful player with an incredible eye for goal. Rest In Peace Big Ron
  8. Have a look around on here. These guys know their stuff. http://www.barmyarmy.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=36&sid=df0513e8e496c074baeb8561d3511414
  9. I take it that is an anagram
  10. One of the posts from the snooze. Well worth an airing here I feel... He (KH) accepted a flattering invitation to chair the Football League in 2000 only to find himself embroiled in "perhaps the biggest crisis the sport has faced", says Frank Kane in The Observer. Shortly after Harris's appointment, ITV Digital pulled the plug on a £315m broadcasting deal with the league. ITV Digital's co-owners Carlton and Granada tried to settle for £50m, but Harris flatly refused. His subsequent failure to recover £130m via the courts prompted his resignation in 2002. Many football clubs were pushed to the brink of bankruptcy and Harris was slated in the press as being "incapable of running a kebab shop". Onwards toward the cliff.
  11. Its been taken down now. Either that or my network is playing up :-( Anyone have a copy or would that be too risky also ?
  12. Absolutely crazy. I despair of the game, I really do.
  13. Hatch, Try here maybe http://www.gumtree.com/tickets/london/rolling+stones
  14. When it thunders now it will be f***ing loud !!! RIP Jon. Absolute legend of hard rock :-(
  15. Interesting line about one of our former managers. Maybe the press are turning against rent-a-quote now the England job isn't his. "since their relegation under Harry Redknapp in 2005" Good article though.
  16. It must be me then. I just cannot drink the GK IPA. I was last in the J on a New years Day walkabout. The beer was OK but mostly linked to GK. To be fair though, I have heard that Martin has had a few barrels of non GK owned or related beers through the pumps. I hope it gets back on its feet soon though as there are too many pubs closing as it is.
  17. Chrissie ?? I think you mean Sandie, aka Madbat. Very sad about the J though, spent many hours in there when it was a Marstons pub. Sadly Greene King came along with their undrinkable juice. Before the smoking ban was invoked, there were so many people smoking in there, you could barely see the other side of the bar some evenings. A bit like Saturday night I should imagine :-)
  18. Been flats for 15 years at least. The Masons was always better than the Fleming Arms though. Shame about any pub shutting in all honesty.
  19. V Man City. Pouring with rain, Steve Williams and Bally bossing the game from the middle. Slide tackles coming in from 20 yards, mud n snot everywhere. There was one incident right in the centre circle when it seemed like 15 players were in there scrambling for the ball covered in mud. you could hardly tell which side they were on ! I think that was televised as well.
  20. Has the second half started ? :-)
  21. Going past him, usually with the opposition winger as well !! Cant jump, no pace and limited attacking options. A cross form 20 yards outside the box is about it !!
  22. Keegan as manager. It cannot get worse than that.
  23. It would seem the Colombians spell his name as John, rather than the Jhon that was used in the UK. Is it correct ?? winky thing
  24. Just for clarification, I would suggest you read the words in the link. To raise money for the Geoff Smith Foundation. This charity helps people with MS. Simple enough for you ? It was intended as a bit of fun before the days golf (fundraising) earlier this year.
