I think the point is more Liebherr is pumping a lot of money in to finance the club and isnt willing to associate the club with someone he doesnt believe "becomes" the Southampton FC brand. These people havent bought the club on a whim. They see the genuine potential this club has as a money making entity and the best way for that to start is be aligning ourselves with companies that befit such an image. Not some god-awful airline that sponsor half the clubs in the football league. I really cant see anyones problems with at least attempting the make the Southampton FC shirt a coveted advertising space. Sponsors like we've had previously are ten a penny and certainly not worth agreeing now when we've got over a year before another new sponsor is needed. We are in a position of stength and quite rightly the commercial department of the club are aware of this and aiming to make full use of it.

My nephew plays in the same academy side as the son of someone involved in the commercial side of things with the club. The guy was talking to my brother in law about next seasons lack of sponsor and basically said Cortese is intent on waiting for as long as it takes in order to secure a proper blue-chip sponsor such as a Samsung, Sony or Vodafone, something of that ilk. He genuinely sees Southampton FC as a desirable brand for someone like that to align themselves with. Good luck to him I say... WOuld be nice to have a sponsor everyone knows of rather than some mickey mouse outfit in comparison like Dimplex, Sanderson or Friends Provident.

No, its Eric's brother Eddie I was thinking of. He was on our books 2003-2005. Eddie Odhiambo-Anaclet.
-
Eric Odhiambo just scored for Inverness Caledonian Thistle... wasnt he on our books at some point?

Taken. HTH.

The HMRC could expect a Frostie relationship with them if so... We'd all be saying Cheerio though...

Have you seen Owen's penalty record? It's cack.
-
Another two words; Michael Ricketts. I'm sorry but he is not international class. Hard worker, in good form for his club and scored a cracking goal last week but would you trust him 1-on-1 with Buffon in a world cup semi-final?
-
There is nothing Owen can offer that Jermaine Defoe doesnt surpass him in now. Our 4 strikers have to be Rooney, Defoe, Crouch and Carlton Cole IMHO. They all offer totally different things and there are some decent potential partnerships among them.

I think he's been nullified. He appears to have had what natural flair he did have coached out of him in order to fit him in with Arsenal's style of play which appears to be playing 4 central midfielders across midfield in Song, Diaby, Fabregas and Denilson. I think Wenger needs to persevere with him up front. Get him playing on the shoulder of the last defender and he will create chances for himself all day long.

I thought Peter Kay was actually quite funny. The stuff he was doing away from the auto-cue was anyway. Stuff like calling Jay-Z "young Jason Zed" and telling Gaga not to forget her brew were distinctly British and certainly something most yanks wouldnt "get". Jonathan Ross was cringeworthy though, I totally agree. Attention seeker to the max and tried far too hard to get laughs. As for Tom from Kasabian falling over, I think he styled it out well. Liam is still the boy though. He treats the Brits with the utter contempt it deserves.

McLean is the younger brother of Peterborough's Aaron McLean.

Doesnt feel right but ******, anything to get up the skates noses a bit more. We could do something honourable like donate the gate receipt after expenses for police, security etc.. to charity. Would be funny to get re-instated, then go gung-ho as we've got nothing to lose and actually get through to a semi-final at Wembley!

Would you sign Papa Waigo N'Diaye on a permanent basis?

I could see the Pompey defenders "predicting" Antonio skinning their left back at the start of the 2nd half and whipping in a great cross for Lallana. That shows the lads got it, he's young and raw and needs more consistency but to say he is predictable is a little harsh. He might be predictable but with his pace there isnt a lot many defenders can do. He's like Aaron Lennon. Defenders know what he is going to do but not many can stop him. He wasnt a world beater either at Antonio's age but came on bundles in the last 2 or 3 seasons. As for Waigo, what exactly hasnt he got? He's got pace to burn and that alone causes problems. Not counting the amount of headed flick ons he wins and positions he gets into because of his pace. There is definitely enough there for AP to keep persevering. -

Papa was one of our best players on Saturday. It's no coincidence we started conceding goals when he came off as it gave their defence one less thing to worry about. He might not be the most clinical finisher in the world but he gets in to good positions and makes things happen, like he did against Pompey and he wont be coming up against keepers in such inspired/lucky form as he did with James on Saturday. Definitely sign him up. He's got all the raw tools to be an excellent player and is at the right sort of age still to learn. -
The spelling was correct but poor grammar meant it didnt warrant a 2. There was also a beginning, a middle and an end which a joke should have and a punchline. Albeit a sub-standard one but a punchline nonetheless. A good start but must try harder.

Anyone seen the highlights on the BBC website yet?! When Lallana smashes in the last goal Thomas appears to leap around in celebration whilst taking the time to bend down and shout something in to the ear of one of the MK Dons defenders. The MK Dons defender then looks as if he is trying to hurl the ball as hard as he can towards WT but misses! Very funny!

What an awful selection. Each to their own I suppose. 1. Eva Mendes 2. Shakira 3. Holly Valance 4. Scarlet Johanson 5. Christina Aguilera

Hi Daren. I've got tickets for both but just wanted to wish you, your partner and your new born daughter all the very best of luck. Good luck shifting your tickets. I'm sure you wont have any troubles!

Think this is a tad different to a play off semi-final though to be fair. The amount of old-school thugs who want to get to this game and are willing to pay whatever it takes to do so, far outweigh the amount of people who "think it might be nice" to go and watch a play off semi final. These tickets will sell out by today, tomorrow at the very latest. I've got mine! Wahey!!!!

He played much better than Rickie did at Brentford in the week.
