  1. ... For Sweden perhaps.
  2. Newcastle home or away on a Saturday please.
  3. The sentiment you are making, if true, would be correct but it isnt. If it was how could Southampton pick up kids for their academy in places like Bath and Bristol? Also my nephew plays for Southampton academy having turned down the likes of Pompey, Reading, Fulham and Chelsea. He actually went to Cobham and played a few games for Chelsea kids before opting for his beloved Saints. One of the major drawbacks of playing for an academy like Chelsea is they collect kids like they are going out of fashion. The squad for Chelsea's under 11's team has about 25 kids in it, meaning kids get 1 quarter a game playing time which is 20 minutes and much less time spent of coaching them individually.
  4. Eh? Jermain Colin Defoe (£15m, Portsmouth) Wilson Roberto Palacios Suazo (£12m, Wigan) Pascal Chimbonda (£2.5m, Sunderland) Robert David Keane (£12m, Liverpool) Peter James Crouch (undisclosed, Portsmouth) - wasnt it about £11m? Kyle Walker (undisclosed, Sheffield United) - thought to be around £3m Kyle Naughton (undisclosed, Sheffield United) - thought to be around £3.5m Sébastien Aymar Bassong Nguena (undisclosed, Newcastle United) - thought to be around £8m Younes Kaboul (undisclosed, Portsmouth) - thought to be around £7m Rafael Van Der Vaart (£9m, Real Madrid) Around £83m He's made around £19m by way of sales by my records. If that's not spending, I'd like to see what is. He's a cheque book record with a great record in the transfer market, but it doesnt stop him being a chequebook manager.
  5. Gerrar's main problem is his ill-discipline speaking from a positional point of view. Fact is he chases everything all game long which see's him pulled out of position time and time again. Because of this, occasionally he does influence a game and we all talk about this and remember this but I've watched a lot more games recently where it's actually been a hinderance to Liverpool rather than helping them. He is also a serial diver and I am amazed this doesnt get picked up on more by the media. Every time Liverpool are losing at Anfield he'll collapse in the box over and over until he wins a penalty which inevitably he does. Speaking from England's point of view, if we persist in passing between the centre backs and then blindly lumping a long ball forward we will never win anything. The most exciting thing about Andy Carroll is the lad can play. Yes, he's a big boy and England should make the most of his aerial prowess from set pieces but this shouldnt be out only tactic during a game. If it is, at least get the ball wide and whip some dangerous crosses in. We did this once for him against France and even that was a poor cross which he did well to get an effort on target from. I hate him too but you do feel if Redknapp was manager he would get the best out of whats available. We might not play like Arsenal, Spain, Brazil or Barcelona but he would play quick wingers, solid defence and actually take the game to sides. The sooner Capello jogs on the better. He's obviously a good manager at club level but that doesnt always make a great international manager.
  6. I'm surprised no-one has come up with a song about Lallana to the tune of La Bamba.
  7. yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!
  8. That Nuno Gomes who played for Portugal would get ruined too... She was lush.
  9. The young filly who took on van barneveld in the grand slam of darts yesterday was quite something also.
  10. Now THAT I agree with. So wrong but so, so right at the same time.

    Ronaldo

The funny thing is he's probably one of the most dangerous players around in the air. Funny how he doesnt fall to the floor in agony when he's thumped in a header from a set piece isnt it?
  15. They play Fulham much??
  16. I think people are making a mountain out of a molar hill over this... Only thing I care about is Adkins having the wisdom to brace us for promotion.
  17. You arent per chance going with a lad called Boycie are you?! Leazes end (Sir John Hall Stand) is where the away fans sit, but they are so high up that unless you are up there with them there isnt much atmosphere. I've just come back from the Sunderland game on Sunday and the place was rocking wherever you sat. I'd personally advise on sitting behind either goal so other Gallowgate or Sir John Hall stand but if they get an early goal it wont matter where you sit! Enjoy your weekend!

    Ronaldo

Messi is a better player and better to watch, I'd still argue Ronaldo throughout the season is more effective.
  19. No question Walcott has improved but he is still massively reliant on that blistering pace. In my opinion once he starts picking up the muscle strains that inevitably come with players and his quickness decreases I think he will be finished. Not seen enough of ox-Cham but for god sake get him on as long term a contract as possible.
  20. Gutierrez at Newcastle has Jonas on his back as well.
  21. Just got back from Newcastle earlier today having gone up for a stag do this weekend. Went to the game and the atmosphere was electric. It was like when Rickie Lambert equalised last season against Pompey and the subsequent 5 or so minutes after until they scored again but for 90 whole minutes. Most people know I have a soft spot for Newcastle due to family ties but I also went with about 5 Saints season ticket holders as well who were amazed with the atmosphere and the buzz in the city after the game was brilliant. Not one Newcastle fan wants Hughton out. If the reports are true that Hughton's job is in jeopardy it is only coming from that idiot Mike Ashley and/or the press. Oh for the day we do Pompey 5-1.
  22. The Novatones are the boys. Rated by Liam Gallagher as well. No doubt some of you will see that as a bad thing. My mate Martin is their manager and is promoting the whole event.
  23. Total fallacy about Newcastle fans wanting Hughton out. Not one of them does, they love him up there. You will find the rumours circulating about Hughton under pressure have come from the press in an attempt to stir up trouble. Hughton has turned Newcastle in to a tough side to beat with a decent spine. Players like Coloccini, Williamson, Enrique, Barton, Nolan, Guthrie, Carroll etc have all improved under him and I know for a fact he is really popular amongst the fans up there.
  24. I think this thread has been well and truly over-egged now.
  25. Well spotted! That was my deal. For Bodeans in Fulham. The manager there is called Teagan and she's a bit of a minx. Insisted I tried the food for free, it was ridiculously good!
