  1. Who's the lad that broke the leg of the Pompey academy player last year? Apparently he's the muts nuts. Sprays the ball around like Paul Scholes in his pomp.
  2. Some of the stuff is very similar to the Kris Akabusi stories. It's either him or someone who has been heavily influenced.
  3. Macheda?
  4. Prem clubs can't take advantage of the load window.
  5. I love how people are conveniently forgetting his record at Sheff Utd which was just over 1 goal every 2 games. This was only 2 years ago. Let him train with us, it will become clear very quickly if he is still motivated. If he's motivated, he'll be more than good enough to provide backup/competition for Rickie as our target man. If he is not, no harm done. Nige will tell him he's not in our plans and we move on.
  6. I'd imagine BT will be getting himself back down to Southampton whilst he finds himself a new club. As far as I know he has still got some good connections within the club. If I was him I'd be getting on the phone and asking if he could train with Saints. This would be win-win. Beattie gets to benefit from our facilities and getting himself fit and Adkins gets a chance to assess him first hand. Could be a useful player to have around if he proves himself to be hungry enough for it.

    Tipping

First of all, yes you are a tight git for not tipping. Most waiters take the job on a incredibly low wage, sometimes not even enough to cover living expenses such as bills and rent and rely on tips more than they do their wages. If you are not going to tip though, my recommendation is to not eat in the same place twice.
  8. I'd call the pest controllers in and stop eating cheese before you go to bed. You have mice/rats and an over-active imagination. HTH.
  9. So he should have. We were untouchable in the 2nd half.
  10. Absolute top bloke. There is not one aspect of his approach or style that I would change. Humble in victory and gracious in defeat, it really is nice to have someone with so much class managing our club.
  11. Just got on the train for the game. Anyone know hoelw much the tickets are? Also, anyone know the best away friendly boozer? Cheers.
  12. Htfu.
  13. Apart from the fact coconuts have the statistical advantage of being where we are (land) almost all the time, whereas sharks don't. Call me old fasioned but I'd rather get in to a fight with a coconut than a bloody great big shark.
  14. SO basically if you want to go somewhere nice for holiday, don't bother as you'll get eaten by a shark.
  15. Got 'imself in a roite 2 and fackin' 8, dinnee?
  16. Ruel Fox? Thought he retired...
  17. Not really but please come back in 2-3 years time and rule 1 the first one... Major selling points - about an hours train ride from London. Good shopping at West Quay. Leisure World is pretty good. By and large, probably a safer place to live. To be fair, I doubt Southampton has anything that Liverpool doesn't that would overly excite teenage girls. They might shake off that horrible accent in time however...
  18. The ex-Newcastle player Rob Lee wrote a good one. Plenty of funny anecdotes and holds nothing back about his spat with Ruud Gullit.
  19. If rumours are to be believed, he was anything but an innocent party in all that. Wasn't he rumoured to have been smacking his sister and mother around or something?
  20. Probably due to our indifference to them. The fact is that whilst they finished above us last season, they know the only reason for this was due to our poor start. It must surely ruin the feeling of going up as champions when you know in reality you were 2nd best for the vast majority of the season. Must have felt like an empty win.
  21. If our opposition managers want to put it down to a collective bad day at the office, let them. The more managers that come out and say "we were totally outplayed, Southampton are favourites for promotion" the more other sides will sit up, take notice of us and begin parking the team bus a la League 1. I'm happy for other sides to fancy their chances against us because I know we have players capable of picking them off.
  22. I know what you are getting at but that was a time when anyone could have competed for those signings. I've just had a look at their transfer dealings and by and large their signings were offset by outgoing deals.
  23. Don't know what game you were watching against Leeds but I can't remember one moment of the match apart from KD's save just before Hammond's goal where Leeds were even remotely in it. It sounds as if we have improved further still but to say there wasn't much in it against Leeds, I don't know what game you were watching.
  24. Morning Alps, enjoying the start to the season? I'm sensing fresh positivity in your posts recently and like what I'm reading!
  25. Totally agree with what you are saying but on this form, if I was the manager of Tottenham, Chelsea or Man Utd looking at the way Lallana has the ability to dictate games and score so regularly, as well as the fact that he is young and English I would be scouting him with a view to a cheeky last minute bid. Lallana is the sort of player who will just get better and better when the standard of players around him improves too.
