I would really love to win the league this season for Cortese to decline the Premier League's invite and stay in the Championship. Sod the PL, 80% of the games are either 12.45 kick offs or played on Sundays and its boring. It really is. I genuinely think the Championship is a much more fun league to be in. 46 games in a season, the majority are Saturday 3pm kick offs and you know every game you have a chance of winning. Only thing I miss about the Prem is away days to places like Manchester, Newcastle and Liverpool but I'm quite happy to sacrifice that for away days in Leeds, Cardiff and Blackpool.

I think some of you are still thinking of him as a forward. He hasn't been a forward since mid-way through his Man Utd days. His legs have gone and he is now a very pedestrian, sideways ball merchant. Don't get me wrong, runs himself in to the ground whenever he gets a chance but he is more or less guaranteed a booking whenever he plays and would add absolutely nothing to our side as our game isn't really based around midfield "breakers".

My point exactly. Good team but no stars, if he can't break in to their team, I think it is likely he'd be in a similar situation here. Their first choice central midfield pairing seems to be Scharner and Mulumbu. I wouldn't take either of those over. I'd take Chris Brunt mind you.

West Brom, despite being a decent footballing side don't have many great players. If he can't break in to their team I'm not sure we'd want him.

He's got a touch of class and will only get better the older he gets and playing alongside better quality players and against better quality opposition. Apparently he is still on the radar of the French national side as "one for the future" so they obviously rate him.

Massive game. We will win however. 2-0. Boring first half, no goals and scrappy. Break the deadlock around 70 mins and then pick them off on the break to settle it. Connolly is due one so I'll say him and Rickie to score.
