Written off by some in the same laughable way Fonte was until a season or teo ago. Because he didn't cost £15m+, he automatically isn't rated. Bit like Yoshida. I can't think of many international defenders with his experience and relatively young age who would be happy being third choice centre back for us.

Les Reed talks Foreign Player Quota & Scouting Street Football
sambosa75 replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
Played in a work 6 a side at Westway a couple of years ago and was amazed at the technique and skill of some of the lads we were playing against. Came away thinking some of them must have had a shot at getting in to academies. Good that we are tapping in to it. Obviously they are rough diamonds and need to learn the difference between cage football and a full size pitch but the one thing they seem to have is technique which is sometimes the most difficult aspect to teach. -
Howdy NewYorkSaint! Me and my brother in law are visiting New York next month for a jolly. We are over on the weekend of the Man City game and then later that day going to watch the Jets against Baltimore Ravens. Can you recommend a bar that will have a good atmosphere we can watch the Saints game in, bearing in mind the early kick-off time? Thanks!

Cheers but it appears to be barred by Sky Broadband. Any other links or suggestions anyone?

It's been ages since I've been at home when Saints are playing... Are the days of getting a stream on the iPad over or can anyone provide a link or instructions on how to get one?

As always, most recent page is full of people just bickering. Can anyone sum things up for me with a simple yes or no: do we appear to be in the market for a player in the next few hours or not?

Wasn't going to bother but seeing as my nephew is in the squad, think I'll make the effort now! -

Clive Tyldsley: "Rooneyyyyyyyy...." in anticipation of him doing something brilliant, even if it is a 5 year sideways pass.

Anyone got hold of the match day squad for this as yet?

Sod it, I'll post again. A couple of you have got 1 but nobody has mentioned the other yet!

0/2. Only 1 post left for today. Will comment again when someone gets it right.

As a bit of light relief, I am ITK that a couple of players were issued club fines on our recent tour of Holland, caught by Puel breaking curfew out catching Pokemon. 10 points to anyone able to correctly guess the players in question...

Would you?

I think as with Gape it is just giving them game time so scouts can have a look at them.

Four goals in one game against a rubbish Norwich team and 2 against a Tottenham side who had all but given up takes the gloss off those 11 goals. Coupled with the fact he registered no goals away from home suggests he is prone to go missing. Would probably do better in a better side admittedly but don't think he justifies £25m.

He has been coaching Arsenal's under 18s for the past 2 seasons...

And Tahar El Khalej.

Players do not move "for Champions League football". It is a myth. They go to wherever is willing to pay them the most. If Lincoln City put a bit in and offered him £300k a week, make no mistake, he would go there over Spurs all day long. Good luck to him. A great player on his day but very inconsistent and became a bit of a liability at times last season with his discipline. Should fit in well at Spurs.

Really thought Koeman had earned the right to go to a bigger club when leaving us. Disappointed in him. Yes Everton are going to throw some money around after their takeover but so are Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd and Liverpool this summer. All 4 clubs have bigger drawing power than Everton so he will still be shopping in the same market he is at Southampton yet dealing with a squad full of dead wood, questionable team spirit and massively over rated young talents such as Barkley and Stones. I guess he will be earning more money but he risks spoiling his legacy by going to Everton and doing an average job. It just doesn't make sense. See out your contract here and earn yourself a bigger job at a much more prestigious club than Everton.

Can't imagine the club will be too happy about his old man speaking to the press. His card will be marked from day 1 at the club...

Oh yes, I didn't think about that. Yes, I would take the results suggested by angelman then!

If Palace win we have to go through the qualifiers again. Much rather Utd win and we get group stage qualification straight away.
