  1. Exactly the sort of player we need to be signing and making a success of. This needs to be our blueprint for success. Attracting the youth players at the top clubs who are disillusioned with not progressing at their club and have the desire to improve. The fact this guy is apparently a Southampton lad too is a bonus of course but I'm glad we seem to be cottoning on.
  2. There is surely no way he is actually on £65k a week? That sort of money for a 3rd choice full-back is outrageous even by Man Utd's standards.
  3. "Deadly rivals". Thats a laugh. Barely a rivalry to speak of between Liverpool and Everton. You have countless examples of families up there where one son supports Liverpool and the other supports Everton and they all sit in amongst each other on "derby" days. Name any other rivalry in the country where this is the case.
  4. Jimmy, if you keep stabbing me you're going to kill me.
  5. If he's available at £10m or below, I would take him. There is a player there. Lost his way as a bit part player at Liverpool but as a regular starter I'm confident you would see improvements over time and I'd have him in the team over Redmond any day.
  6. Fantastic servant to the club. Thanks for the memories, Ryan. Best of luck.
  7. Just because you can sign a random kid from Gremio who turns out to be perfectly cut out for the Premier League at age 18 and is valued at £80m within 2 years on Football Manager, doesn't mean you can do it in real life.
  8. A number 10 type/Redmond replacement who is able to play on the left would be my choice. Another goal scoring striker as back up to Ings would also be nice. Good luck in finding one happy to come in as back-up though.
  9. Anyone know how best to go about getting a dodgy stream these days?
  10. Agreed I don't think much money will be thrown around this summer. What an opportunity Newcastle might have if this takeover goes through with little competition for signings if their prospective new owners decide to throw some of their cash around.
  11. I have a signed ball that I’m sure what have Bleidelis or Chala’s autograph on it, possibly both.
  12. This whole myth about the skates seems to be perpuated by the fact they once clapped Henry off the pitch as Fratton Park on a day when Arsenal gave them a pasting years ago. I've heard it used as the example of how they are such great fans by numerous people so many times its ridiculous.
  13. Bloody great though isn’t it?
  14. Or Karius.
  15. Jackenbauer.
  16. You mean we aren't already?
  17. Sorry but he does deserve some of the blame. He has been here a year and is none the wiser as to what his best XI is or what system to play. That said, there isn’t much out there who would do better but he needs to start showing some progress or the owner will get an itchy finger.
  18. Over the years I have been involved in a few London gatherings held at the Famous 3 Kings pub next door to West Kensington station. The 2nd leg playoff defeat to Derby (was it really 12 years ago?!) we must have got around 50 Saints fans there. The atmosphere was unbelievable.
  19. Paul Pogba is shocking. Shame we aren’t a better side we’d have punished him at least twice by now if we were.
  20. I believe they are staying at Choristers.
  21. No we don’t.
  22. Great result but Redmond’s finishing is a disgrace.
  23. I can't buy in to it ruining a club like ours. We must be in rude financial health what with all the player sales and seeming refusal to spend anywhere near a commensurate amount on re-strengthening. What we do have though is a squad full of dead wood who would see playing in the Championship as below them who would agitate for moves. The same players who whilst we are a Premier League club are quite happy collecting their wages and applying minimum effort. A bit like the owner. Keen to reap the rewards of owning a Premier League side but unwilling to do what it takes to progress us. I must admit the hiring of Hassenhuttl makes me think there may be hope for him yet. I don't see why he would have come here unless significant funds were promised to him should he keep us up but until that happens I'll remain sceptical.
  24. Relegation could possibly be the best 5hing to happen to us in terms of ownership. I’m sure having a Championship club doesn’t fit in to whatever vision Gao had for us as his plaything and might convince him to sell. The only concern then is who he decides to sell us to. That said, I’ve done a results predictor for the remainder of the season with extremely conservative results for a Saints and have us finishing 16th above Burnley and with Cardiff taking the final relegation spot.
  25. Wonder how much Cabaye would ask for until the end of season? Desperately need some creativity in the middle of the park .
