  1. Adam off. Rickie on. Can't help but feel Rickie for Rooney would have been better
  2. Rooney off. AND STILL NO LAMBERT? Explain please Roy?!
  3. Henderson on shortly
  4. Gibbs? Give Shaw the call Roy! And Clyne while your on the blower.
  5. @SouthamptonFC: #SaintsFC will face @officialpompey in the third round of this season’s #FAYouthCup. Date and venue to be confirmed.
  6. @FA: #England 0-0 Germany. Wayne Rooney has a headed attempt at the German goal, from Baines' cross, but the ball loops over. 20 mins #EngvGer Says it all really. The FA twitter hasn't got a clue either
  7. What does Cleverley actually bring to the team?
  8. It's Vauxhall's new model. I can only assume the marketing Man who thought up that name has been sacked
  9. It could be argued the biggest problem for someone such as Michael Le Vell is the way they are treated until they are aquitted. The printed press, on the whole, will treat them as though they are guilty. He has had his name and reputation dragged through the mud. As you say we have all thought "no smoke without fire", but is this partly down to the way the press cover trials? Possibly. Whilst, up to a point, there is a case for the defendant being anoymous until guilty, it would be hard to enforce with social media etc. The press will report that "Mr X" is on trial but it will eventually get out. If they are appearing on TV (such as a soap) and dissapear at the time of a trial it wouldn't be hard to put two and two together. Whilst rape is obviously a serious crime and victims should not be deterred from reporting it, something needs to be done about those who report false allegations. It does happen from time to time and ruins lives. How to prevent it, I don't know. What were the views of Saints fans at the time Dave Jones was on trial? I can't really re-call.
  10. A lot of people will say climb the Harbour Bridge. I've never bothered as it is quite expensive and you can't take your own camera - they want you to buy their expensive souvenir photos. Instead climb the pylon closest to Circular Quay (Of the 4 bridge support towers it's the one closest to the Opera house) which is no-where near as expensive and you can use your own camera. I quite like the area around Circular Quay and Darling Harbour - Plenty of places to eat and drink down there. In terms of night life I've always relied on asking the taxi drivers who are noramlly pretty good. (Can also advise of a good strip club if required)

    Rush

On Monday evening I was fortunate enough to attend a secret preview screening of the new Ron Howard film "Rush" which is in cinemas on Friday 13th September. As some of you may know I am a massive F1 fan and so have been looking forward to this film for some time. My guest for the screening has never seen an F1 race in their life and so I can give you the view of an F1 fan and a non-F1 fan. We both loved it. So much so that the non-F1 fan wants to go and see it again when it is released. As you may know it tells the story of the 1976 F1 championship and the battle between Niki Lauda and James Hunt for the driver's crown. The casting is superb with the actors nailing the roles of James and Niki as well as looking like them. It was fantastic to see some classic F1 cars on the big screen, including the 6 wheeled Tyrell. The sound when they fire up the engines in a cinema is superb. For someone who knows the story of 1976, I have thought previously that it sounds like something Hollywood would come up with. It suits the big screen so well. I was slightly dubious that it would be "Americanised" or "Too Holloywoody" but it isn't. Lauda's crash at the Nurburgring is spectacular but accurate. On the whole it is a fantastic film. I only have one critiscism. Whilst the film covers Hunt's disqualification and subsequent re-instatement in the results of the Spanish Grand Prix it does not mention Hunt being barred from the re-start of the British Grand Prix at Brands Hatch following the first lap incident. This was quite a significant event as had it not been for the reaction of the Britisih crowd and them throwing beer bottles onto the track, the stewards fearing a riot would not have re-instated him in the race. I can only assume that had they included this incident it would have made Ferrari and Lauda appear to much of the villians of the piece Overall though the film is superb and I urge you to see it. I fully intend to see it again. OOO
  12. Bloody foreigners! Coming over here! Taking our jobs! Where will this madness end? Foreign footballers will be giving us cancer next! We can't allow it to continue! Disengage Daily Mail mode.
  13. Well that answers that. Who was that from off here? Stoke's Zombies still topping the mong fan table though
  14. Daniel Riccardo has signed for Red Bull. Has anyone checked to see if we have any Stoke City style Zombies of our own down at SMS? Who would be the most likely off here to be monging it up in the background of a SSN feed?
  15. As seems to frequently happen at the moment, I've been out all day on the motorways of the UK. Anyway, to save going though 13 pages can anyone give a quick summary?
  16. Best of luck to him. Was always going to go onto big things but I never thought this big! Does seen weird the most expensive player in the world is Welsh though!
  17. Didn't we establish Holly Valance was a Saints fan last time we had one of these threads. And the Queen as she hasn't presented the FA cup since 1976
  18. Hugely talented broadcaster. I met him once and he was a genuinely nice man. Very intelligent and knowledgable. RIP
  19. @StellingJeff: Howard Webb ! Cliff Richard would have made better decisions !
  20. If we didn't use them there would be some questioning why we didn't use all 3. It's not necessarily the use of 3 subs that is an issue, it's the actual change that need looking at? Did MP take off the correct players today? From what I've read Lallana shouldn't have come off.
  21. MOTD poll had 86% of the votes saying we should of had a pen. Know it doesn't effect the outcome, just repeating the story.
  22. Best of luck to him. Sure he'll do we'll for them.
  23. And our favourite journo had done his research @alex_crook: One of the forgotten five Lee, Hammond, Barnard, Hammond and Sharp has left #saintsfc today
  24. @SimonPeach: #SaintsFC outgoing about to be announced. Still more to go...
