Saints V Man United - Post Match Reactions
doubleonothing replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Waiting for the train at Victoria, plenty of Saints fans still around. Great day out and a great game overall. Loved being back there in a similar seat to the one I had for the JPT. VERY unlucky to not be celebrating a cup win just hope we get there again sooner than every 7 years now! Proud of the team and the fans. And now another pint OOO -
Managed to find out what Guly is up to nowadays!

Can only assume that's made by the Brazilian Saints Web Bearsy. Or perhaps that's what his agent is sending out to clubs in order to find him a new one. Better than your average YouTube compilation! -
@GaryLineker: “@m_christenson: An absolutely extraordinary video of the violence at Serbia v Albania: https://t.co/02nmtigCn0 (via @AndiKasmi). Properly kicking off! Tadic can been seen a number of times in this video.

On the train back to Liverpool street. Dissapointing. Felt RK needed to make changes earlier than he disc we lacked urgency, Pelle got no service, ref was cr@p. Poor overall and re spurs fans were $hit. Onwards -
Reports are Bianchi hit a recovery vehicle sideways. The area would have been covered by double waved yellows so he should have been going slower through the are than normal. Conflicting reports coming in about the helicopter. Apparently it could take off by weather conditions mean it might not have been able to land. Hope he's OK. Very talented driver and part of the Ferrari acadamy.

Things could be worse - your memories of 2007-2009

3-0 defeat away at Swansea. Lloyd James spent the entire afternoon out of position (was supposed to be playing right back). Game was awful and we just didn't look like a team, let alone like getting anything from the game. Went back to sea shortly after that game so fortunately I wasn't subjected to much more of that dross in person. -
Great news! And you beat Trousers to a tweet!

Not sure if it's as bad as it's being made out to be! If you look at their website they having being going on a bit of a publicity drive of late. Tie ins with the Senna Foundation, official tech partner of the British GT championship etc. Some of their products don't look bad either. I'm viewing it as a local company that is expanding globally and is looking to use Premiership exposure to help themselves grow. And besides we don't know how much they are paying us! It might turn out to be a fair bit!

Must be Veho. Says so on Twitter. Never heard of them. But after a quick google quite interested in their Senna collection. Away shirt to be Yellow, Green and Blue as a result.

All sorts of speculation one. As always with the maritime world, it will take time to come out. I see the latest "outrage" is that a Junior (Third Officer) had the conn of the ship at the time of the incident. Nothing unusal in that at all. People seem to think that the Captain will be "driving" the ship at all times. Not the case. The watchkeeping officers will be "driving" the ship apart from typically arrivals and departures. The Captain can't be on the bridge at all times! In the event of a major incident such as this one, I would expect him to arrive on the bridge just before it was about to happen, during the incident or straight away after (depending on when the Officer of the Watch calls him). Immediatly aftwerwards it would not be unsual for the OOW to have the conn whilst the Captain was involved in the emergency procedures. In terms of the actual sinking, it can be assumed that she has hit something causing her to take on water. The cargo shift theory has some credibility but the ferry should (and being in South Korea, I would expect it to) be capable of staying upright depsite the fact that the cargo has shifted. Watertight integrity may have had some part to play and until the experts can inspect the hull we won't know. It could be as simple as Watertight Doors failing to close or actual bulkhead openings not being properly secured. By taking a hard turn to port or starboard you should not be able to get water in through the ship's lowest opening to the outside. Even at full speed and going hard over this would prove very difficult. A severe list will not instantly come on - it will take time. However on a large ship a list of only 5 degrees seems extreme, when in theory they should be able to list to around 60 degrees before going over. The actualy abandonment is an interesting one. The requirement is to be able to abandon the ship fully within 30 minutes of the order to do so being given. Many news agencies are claiming pax were told remain where they were. This is typical until all survival craft are ready to launch. The main reason is that it will enable to keep people in an environment that is away from the elements and they enables you to evactuate them in a controlled manner whilst accounting for everyone. The point here is that the ship has gone down much quicker than expected. Looking at pictures of the vessel, I'm struggling to work out where her LSA was located and definatly not her muster stations. Again without seeing the plans of the vessel it is hard to tell. Much like aircraft, ships are fitted with Voyage Data Recorders or VDR's. Until this is recovered an analysed we won't know what happened.

I know it is very very very unlikely, but it can't harm to ask. Especially if it anyone can't make it at the last minute or late on! I'm due to disembark my current ship on the morning of the Swansea game and will be able to head straight down that way in time for the match, so if anyone happens to have a spare ticket please consider selling it to me?! I am more than happy to pay over the club subsidised rate (e.g normal match ticket rates) and make a donation to the Saints Foundation/Charity of your choice. I know it is an outside chance, but I shall remain hopefull! Cheers OOO

Only just spotted this. I honestly wouldn't worry about it a huge amount on the basis that for large ship's Liverpool is severly restricted by the tide. QM2 as pictured in the article can only arrive and depart Liverpool at certain times due to tidal restrictions. And Carnival are based in Southampton and geared up to operate in Southampton. It is much easier and financially viable to operate in southampton for them. Some of the smaller shipsmay go to Liverpool, the same as they use Falmouth, Dover and Harwich as turnaround ports.

Never been on match day but on non match days it's ok. Will be heading there myself.
