I am still confident about GKP, although the share movements have been really painful I have added shares on the dips and now own 67,918 shares At the moment, I am sitting on a £70k paper loss, which smarts, but not enough to make me make silly decisions At present, I don't have any other money to throw at it, so I will only be slowly adding more from each monthly pay packet

Reality is that our tax code is so complex that it is a cat and mouse game of the tax man trying to close schemes whilst firms are always designing new ones. The only solutions are 1. Flat tax on all income with no exceptions or allowances or reliefs etc etc 2. Every individual has to publish their tax affairs publicly (I believe some Nordic countries do this) And there is no way I can see those steps happening

We are in agreement in part, but then again, I have always been one for self reliance. I want to be able to look after myself and my own It would be nice to imagine that we could construct a world that works in a fairer way, but sadly if we don't work hard and be productive, then there are 1 billion chinese and another 1 billion Indians all willing to do the work, and if you go to China, you will find the individual savings rate is 50-60%

Well done If still struggling then sadly one needs to find a second or third job, I am sure any Americans on the board would suggest the same advice (By the way, I am not trying to be a selfish heartless person, as my own circumstances are better than most people, but even as a student 20+ years ago, I saved money and lived within my income)

Then do something about it!!! On Martin Lewis' site, there is a forum devoted to helping people become debt free. One part of the process is people volunteering to have their monthly expenditure reviewed to see where savings can be made. It never ceases to amaze me what people consider to be essential expenditure All it takes is a few months of belt tightening, and then a rainy day fund can be built up to cope with unexpected events Far better that, than having no fund and falling into the arms of the payday lenders

No way we can answer that question for you without knowing, your age, income, attitude to risk, other investments, dependants etc etc For me, as a 44 year old reasonably well paid professional, I am still buying equities but I expect to still investing for 20-25 years yet

The reason why it is 10 employees or fewer is because really small firms struggle with HR law, and don't have a full time HR manager However, it is wrong The proposed change should apply to all employees in all companies. If employees could be asked to leave (with paid notice) but with no fault needed, the time and cost saved would be huge. And getting a new job would be easier. Just compare how easily the US creates jobs compared to France

Nicola Nicola She changed it when she married, no surprise there

I spend three years abroad (UAE) so I would always advise people to do it In my last job, had a Californian HQ, so my 2 observations would be 1. Work life balance can sometimes be off: staff spend longer in the office just to be seen, and if the boss decides that he needs a report at 9pm, then saddle up and get it done 2. The much shorter holidays might suck In addition, there seem to be a lot more Police and they intervene in things (such as load music) that UK police are not interested in

Looking forward to this. First game in some time for my Brother as he has been away a lot (Army) I expect a nervous match

NA - unlike some on this board, knows that you get promotion from a whole season of play, not just one match
-
I cannot see WH winning 4 and drawing 2 Not sure whether we will get top spot but we will need to hit reverse gear not to get promoted
