Calling All Employment Law or HR "Experts"
thefunkygibbons replied to Saint In Exile's topic in The Lounge
The law on rights is now 2 years when companies can dismiss without cause, however notice has to be paid Dismissal without notice is usually only in the case of gross misconduct, and that would require the full implementation of the disciplinary procedure (i.e - investigation, disciplinary meeting with due notice and the right of accompaniment, and an appeal procedure). It sounds like this was not followed in this case Failure to follow this would usually mean that one could sue for wrongful dismissal at least, but the basic award would only be notice, but there is a cost of issuing proceedings. At best, unfair dismissal might be claimed, but harder to make stick. Therefore, the best course of action is the internal procedure -

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 0-1 Swansea
thefunkygibbons replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I was amazing in the first half that Swansea did not want the ball We were pulling 20 passes together and they did not get beyond 4 However, no excuse for not scoring Thought Harrison Reed was the real deal - my MOTM -

GKP Just being played by the market due to uncertainty over the timing of the bond issue Personally, I am in for the long haul, but then again it is a roller coaster ride Currently £200k underwater, so no way I would sell
-
Took a bath on GKP last week, not sitting on a £180k paper loss But, does not mean anything unless I sell, and I won't be doing that as I believe it will come good in the end
-
Not with standing my long term play on GKP, I continue to invest although the bargains that were around 2-3 years ago have mostly gone At the moment, I am watching Centrica and BG Group both of which look over sold

I was mortgage free by 38 The easiest way for me was to pay a fixed amount each month regardless of what the bank thought the monthly amount should be If you want to see the benefit of over payments, use this calculator http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/mortgages/mortgage-overpayment-calculator

Think with your heart rather than your head Would you like a trip to Wembley to see the Saints win the FA Cup? Hell yes!!!

I am still going strong I have added to various shares and tidied the portfolio up between the ISAs, SIPPs and the dealing account However, my big play remains Gulf Keystone, and now I have 150,000 shares (reducing my average to 214p in the process) At the moment, I am on a £70k paper loss, but it was as high as £120k, and yet at the beginning of September I was in profit I am still looking at a 3 to 5 year time horizon so am fairly relaxed, although I do not think I will be buying any more My big wins at present include Vodafone, Persimmon and GKN
