Watch out for Middlesborough when they come up, they've been 'getting ready'for the last three or four seasons.

That would look better with navy blue shorts.

What a decent season looks like for a poor PL team

Yep, fourth place over winning a cup every time. -

Home W 5 D 5. L 9 Away W 2. D 5 L 12 31 Points Go through the first two rounds of both the cups. I would say that’s where we are at the moment. If we can sign an AM and a decent ST and a better GK (Ramsdale?) Then that could be revised up a bit, either way gonna be a massive ask to stay up. -

Sorry, just catching up with the thread. A few years ago we were home to Ipswich mid week, time plays tricks, it must have been last time we were in the championship. I was sat with my older nipper down the front of the Kingsland, an ST friend (from Tiverton, Devon had got us the tickets). We got chatting before the match, within a dozen seats of us were Saints fans from Sandwich, York, Derby, Swansea and Kettering. The game didn't go well, Ipswich scored first. Some random local (yokel?) launched himself to his feet and declared in pure strawberry grower, 'Zis club don't know how lucky they be, we got fans here farkin midweek from x y and z. If they give a f+ck why can't these players give one too? Zis club don't know how lucky they are.' -

Points deduction incoming, bringing the game into disrepute. -

Halo stickman and 'est.1885', job done. -
They will probably sign-off with a Seamus Coleman wonder-goal, or bring on Adrian Heath to take a 94th minute penalty badly awarded by VAR.

Three out of three ain't bad. No Twitter cheating, just the way it is.

Going to be massively hard to stay up, so much depending on the recruitment. Leic likely to go down if they get a decent number of points docked(10?). Ipswich a bit unknown, manager has stayed for big money, they have that crazy-gang/momentum thing, they will be able to comfortably afford to spend up to their limits. Little old us, has the leopard RM really changed his spots since Baz's injury? Or will we revert to walking football, possession for possession's sake, with the added bonus of the new recruits needing lots of games to learn the playbook. Given that we could get above Leic and Ipswich (we didn't last year) we would have to then over haul one of the established sides; presumably Forest or Everton would be likeliest, beyond that I would look at Brighton, Wolves, maybe Fulham. Massive task, if you consider that getting promoted was a par score for RM, I would say that keeping us up next year is a much bigger ask. Interesting times, let's see what the recruitment brings.

Google translate: 'Last few tickets available in Northam Wall - be in that number'

If we were four up and it was in the last five minutes I'd love to see that. It looked like he would breeze past Beckham's record but a bit like Tiger Woods and his masters wins it hasn't quite happened.

You had me nodding along with all of that, until I came to those last six words. If we go up then spending 6m-8m on a proven PL-standard keeper will be a much too-obvious thing to do. I'm sure we will be able to find a much 'cleverer' solution.
-
100/ with you, I never wanted VAR but that wasn’t my point. Major mistake by the Lino to raise his flag, not sure why such an experienced official would make such an obvious mistake.
-
Amazing that some of the best officials there are could get something so straightfd so wrong. Absolute shocker. (not saying he was conclusively onside, it was tight either way but that's what VAR is for)

Practicing at the Northam end for next season's wall-of-noise where the fans will be 'literally' sucking the ball into the net. A slightly different trajectory needed for corner kicks, a little bit less on attacking free kicks, long shots need to be slightly higher so the noise can deflect the ball downwards. #marginalgains

Piroe sending RM a reminder? Next season's Adams replacement?

Stephens front sweeper? Some sort of 4-1-3-2?
