It has to be a major failing on the Liverpool managements part, that they did not address their shortcomings at CB in the last transfer window. They were told they would not be signing VVD, so should have looked elsewhere.......

At least he is on a five year contract, so if he has a good season now, we won't be forced to sell him to Liverpool come next summer.......

When you see that his last game for Arsenal was 61 minutes in their 4-0 defeat at Liverpool, after playing for 90 mins in Arsenal's two opening matches. The next outing being 45 minutes in Liverpools 5-0 defeat at ManCity, it does make you wonder if he might have got more playing time if he had stayed at the Emirates.

Why do we always sign players carrying a serious injury - Delgado, David Hirst, Charlie George, Perry Groves and thats just off the top of my head. I rather think Keegan was carrying an injury when we signed him and we had to wait a year to get the best out of him before he upped an went.
