  1. I had massive doubts at first with Kelvin but he certainly won me over big time. A top bloke and a huge boost after a terrible few months for us lot. Did the doubters on here not realise he was our player of the season last year by miles, as voted by the fans ???
  2. Definitely yes from me. I cannot get to all home games because of business commitments but am happy to have the extra insurance that membership may offer. If I dont benefit one season - who cares the money goes to the club anyway.
  3. Thank you for removing me from the spit that I have slowly been roasting on since we went into admin on the day after April fools day. We have had soooo many false dawns since then that I no longer know which way is up. May your investment prove fruitful to all concerned and COYR !!!
  4. The business world is full of people who talk the talk, but they tend not to be the ones with the real clout who dont need to. I suppose we were all so delighted that MLT was going to be chairman, we didnot ask ourselves the question _ "Why the hell would a wealthy businessman put someone with no financial background in charge of £14m +++ of his money"
  5. Yellow flare clearly thrown from the Burnley end as were numerous projectiles which were subsequently returned. Provocative behaviour all round and by the Police who should have kept a lower profile given recent events. Pitch invasions are forbidden by the league so presumably the club will be penalised and so will every team that has got promoted or avoided relegation today who have cause to celebrate in that way !! The support today was otherwise top notch and hardly suprising feelings were running high as we failed to win a game we deserved to yet again.
  6. I was totally relaxed at yesterdays game as we were effectively on only a "dogs chance" of avoiding relegation - that was until we scored ! Apart from the 3 corners in stoppage time Palace werenot much of a threat thankfully. The atmosphere in the Northam was great with no negativity considering the last tame surrender @ Wolves. I had forgotten what it felt like to win a game of such importance. Glad to see Norwich are at Ipswich next and Barnsley @ Reading - lets hope the last game @ Forest has something still riding on it !
  7. Cannot even imagine what a winter saturday would be like without SFC. Shopping with the missus anyone ?
  8. Many seem to be questioning the logic of the bucket collections. Surely the idea is to ensure the club keeps going long enough to find a buyer ? That has to make sense ?
  9. Rounds 1 & 2 of the FA Cup - might lose to Eastleigh , Totton or Bashley or have a grudge match with Havant & Waterlooville !!
  10. Scoring Forests late winner today that leaves us 4 points from safety !!
  11. Why not a Saints over 25's v under 25's to raise extra cash. The age to be adjusted if we didnot have enough over 25's !
  12. £500 minimum from me.
  13. Although I speak very much from an anti Rupert perspective, isn't it now critical for everyone to get behind the lads and go to the last 3 home games ? Now is our teams hour of need and a big vocal following could make the difference in the run in. I fully understand and support the various protests and marches and have boycotted games myself, that I would have watched in other seasons. The time for inquests etc will be after the last game, but for now the spirit of Southampton needs to emerge and carry us through. It would be good if the echo could whip up support like they did during the Cup run with a great escape type series of articles leading up to judgement day. We need 4 wins from 7 games and only some special effort now from all sides will achieve that end.
  14. Wouldn't it be good to go back there meaning we were still in the ccc seeing as they are most likely to stay up ?
  15. Well done on Saturday to McG for having the b*lls to take the vital penalty but did anyone see the picture in the echo during the week of Saints defending a free kick in training. David McG was pictured jumping with his arms above his head in exactly the same way as he gave a penalty away against Man Utd ( albeit the ball hit his head that day). Shouldnot training be to practise not making the same mistakes !!
  16. May be it has to get worse before it gets better.- eg we look absolutely doomed so Rupert is ousted & the club unites for a last gasp escape bid. We can dream cant we !!
  17. I lived in Guernsey (not Jersey who are arch rivals ! ) between 1990-1995 and Saints sent a strong team to play against them whilst I was there. Carl Le Tissier (one of Matts brothers ) chipped Tim Flowers for one of their goals ! It finished about 10-3 to Saints I think with Matt also scoring. We were in the Prem at the time and it was a good , well supported occasion - hope this one is as well.
  18. Quality Saints player who did what he said he hoped to do - score against the skates. Legends have been made of that in the past !
  19. Itchen Full member wrote :- "I hold no particular affection for Lowe but think he is simply doing what has to be done unless somebody with millions of pounds to throw away comes along. You could change the man at the top but they'd still have to live within a budget." I would point out that any half wit of a businessman is capable of cutting costs - the secret is to have a half decent football team as well ! That is where Rupert continues to be a total failure as a chairman/football visionary. Replacing Rupert with any other businessman with half a brain would immediately remove much of the angst the fan base is currently experiencing. Unfortunately no doubt the first thing he did when he came back was to ensure he would get ANOTHER sizeable pay off if asked to leave !!
  20. Nathan is a much better player than Ryan Smith to me. Unfortunately Smith is cheaper and that is the only criteria at SFC nowadays. Respect to little Nathan for remind us where his loyalties are.
  21. Blackpools average gate is only 8k and Plymouths 11k compared to our 17k. At £20 per head x 23 games. This equates to £4.14m and £2.76m respectively and must go a long way to offsetting the "large mortgage" arguement compared to those those two clubs. Barnsley average 13k and would have been bolstered by last years (?) cup exploits.
  22. Kadeem wrote;- "You f*cking bottlers. We are better off without you if you have to run when we go through troubled times. Don't bother returning." Ever been to support Saints @ Fratton Park my friend ?
  23. The idea of transfering support to eg Eastleigh would be more beneficial than just boycotting St Marys in many ways. It would be immediately obvious how many people were involved and also benefit Eastleighs finances at a time when they are sitting towards the top of their Division, and looking to making a push for the play offs. How many leagues would seperate Saints from Eastleigh if they moved in opposite directions in May ? It is extremely frustrating that we seem otherwise unable to influence decisions made by the power mad PLC chairman - no matter how pathetic our on field performances.
  24. See AFC Southampton anyone ? Posted 25th of October.
  25. 10 weeks on it hasnot got any better has it !!
