Is there anybody like me who think all the people on here who post to say that fans should sing only certain songs have little understanding of the game and the passion that is very much part of it. Without the mix of people and bad language etc it becomes a very sterile spectacle, and would lose a lot of its appeal to fans who travel large distances to follow their team. Wembley in the JPT final was a carnival, a great day out. But for real passion give me a derby game against the our Hampshire rivals and that is what really makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Singing from a selected "Hymn sheet" is not it I'm afraid. Spontaneity brings humour, good chants and bad and damn good days out like yesterday at Plymouth. Without the hard core at the Northam the other 3 corners of the ground sitting on their hands until we score, will not get you promoted or get people coming back for more.

Because Solent seemed obsessed with recalling Puncheon last night...

What is clear is that Dave M is looking for every opportunity to "stir the pot" with the current regime at Saints because of bad feeling with NC & several ex-players. -

The difference between Southampton and Brighton...
Raven on the wing replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Have our friends from Brighton forgiven us for "the conspiracy with Spurs" - us drawing 0-0 @ home v Spurs in the last game of the 1977/8 season and Spurs and us & not Brighton going up to the top div on goal diff ? PS Who have Brighton got in the last game this season ?? -
I thought Dany Ng was having such a bad game that NA couldnot sub him earlier as he could have been scarred mentally. He literally did not make a pass.He surely would have expected a bad reaction from the fans at whatever club he played. He is not a kid however and should be doubly determined to show us what he can do.

I think I would tolerate the errors in the echo more if they had were actually Saints supporters. How much more knowledgeable they would be, and then perhaps we would not have to read about the exploits of Exeter City FC every week.

So often we let someone go when it is to late to sign a replacement not this time Happy Days !!

To all those that thought the cup for us was an annoying distraction - interesting to think that we could have had to beat Crawley @ home for a place in the 6th Round !!

Just to correct an earlier poster - Benali did not choose to raise it on TV. He was asked by Helen C if Cortese was a good tennant !!

Saints vs Manchester Utd - 4th Round FA Cup Draw
Raven on the wing replied to saint_bert's topic in The Saints
For NA it will great for him to experience a full house @ St Marys. For those who moaned about the lack of atmosphere when we played them a few years ago in the cup - we didnot even have a corner that day !!! -
More importantly what flavour fool was it ? Raspberry perhaps ? Had it been poisoned, or did he skid on it and bang his head ? Did he get his "just desserts" ?

Emotions have been running high for some time but to look at things calmly I believe 1/ AP's departure was unfortunate, was not planned and was probably not based on the teams performances whilst he was in charge. 2/ We have not become a bad team overnight. Lack of cover in attacking/ wide mid field areas even before Barnards ban and Adams injury has meant we have struggled to score in the last 3 games. 3/ With NA as our new manager who importantly knows this league, and providing he immediately makes couple of astute loan signings, we will be back on course very quickly. 4/ A lot of people on here may owe NC an apology for assuming the worst about AP's sacking, but we may never find out the whole truth.

You appeared in our darkest hour to save our club. We mourn your passing like that of a favourite uncle. Our thoughts are with your family at this difficult time as they will know first hand, that you were the lovely man that you appeared to us to be at a distance. Thinking of the good times we shared at the JPT final. Good night and God bless you. -
Agreed that the OWTS gave the team a real boost just suprised someone on here hasnot moaned (yet !) that we need not to be so repetitive !! It seemed to start round about the time the ref made a couple of stupid decisions against us which got the crowd animated. Good on AP to recognise the fans part too.

One result in isolation means "nout" , but on top of a mediocre pre season and us being largely unimpressive in filling the known gaps in the squad - no wonder there wasnot the full house AP was after !
-
Yes he had good pace which we lacked @ full back & yes he got into advanced positions - but do you remember any telling crosses from him - I cant !

As a Royal Mail employee Saturday is a working day and with travel, I have no chance of getting to St Marys in time. Thanks Sky !!

Reserves Pulled Out of Combination League.
Raven on the wing replied to miserableoldgit's topic in The Saints
It would also give us the chance to play against & have a sneeky look at players we might be interested in from specific other clubs rather than a set league programme. -
Andrew Surman Has Been Told He Can Leave.
Raven on the wing replied to View From The Top's topic in The Saints
How many more goals would "Super Lambo" get with Surman's driving runs and measured crosses from the by line ? -
Goods result today - Surely nobody on here wants to see Mand*c gloating about getting to the Prem !

Correction :- If the *****s start next season on -17 points ( hopes !!) we may pass them going in opposite directions !!

Is anybody out there thinking like me that a massive weight will be lifted come 90 mins on Saturday. That 10 point penalty seems to have been dragged around like a big metal ball manacled to our ankles since about June of last year. We will have served our time and start next season on a wave of optimism on 0 points. The only way is Up !
