Interesting to hear Radio Solent commentators had not done the maths before the game either. As professionals who are paid to keep us informed they were waffling and moaning about having no inet access !, I had posted exactly this scenario on here before Villa lost to Chelski !
-
3 points v Stoke could see see us leap frog a lot of teams who have tough last games let's raise the roof next Sunday
-
Fulham could lose by up to 10 goals if we lost by twelve by the way and they would stay up !,
-
Villa lose to Chelski on sat would mean we need a draw @ sunderland on Sunday to stay up barring massive defeat to stoke etc etc !

Whoops spelt ticketing wrong in title but couldnot edit it !! -
I bought two tickets on the telephone from the club for manure game and was refused admission 40 mins before kick off being told they had already been used. After 40 mins hassle was given two more tickets without extra charge but was not impressed - could do without the aggravation and did not sit in my chosen seats. There seemed to be a big queue of others with similar problems has it been covered on here already ?

Please don't embarrass us with any more clown costumes

Presumably the gentlemen with the dress suits on met with your approval, or in fact should we all go as if dressed for an evening at the Opera. No doubt you also have your list of acceptable chants and general behaviour on match days. I think what you are missing is that it is a very British trait to be able, to not take yourself too seriously. eg act the fool and not give a damn about what others think of you. -
Like a phoenix out of the ashes of administration, near extinction, then relegation to League One, the club has retaken its place at the top table with the elite. On this day of celebration, we pause to give thanks to one man who had a dream to achieve this eventuality. As long as a ball is kicked in anger by the red and whites of Southampton FC we will owe you a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid. Raise your glasses to "One Markus Liebherr" theres only "one Markus Liebherr"

One word of warning to our Coventry friend is not to approach League 1 like a team of "big time charlies". Its a tough league and every point is hard earned,
-
Good point excellent chest control by Billy !

I thought Lamberts pass for Sharps goal Saturday was a first sign of a partnership that will surely blossom. DC was the telling factor at the end of last season, and is far better than Barnard who doesnot look up to Championship standard ( please come on and score on Saturday and prove me wrong !! ).
-
Add to that we would still have been playing for the league title !!
-
Well it wont be on if you havenot gone over to digital TV yet !
-
Has Rudi Skacel signed yet ?

I think you might take yourself a bit too seriously mate. Football is a passionate game to be enjoyed in whatever attire you feel you want to express yourself in.

I have been telling everybody only barely interested in footie to watch us on the beeb this week. I woke up this morning feeling like I had done a streak at me grans 90th birthday party !!

1/ Jason P is a good player 2/ Jason has not shown his best form for Saints 3/ The previous "Impasse" suited no one 4/ Give the lad a break and get behind him against Cardiff.

Was at the game & we had loads of possession on the flanks but with no target man in the middle we just overplayed it and the momentum was lost. I suppose it is just as important to know who is not up to the job and Forte has had several starts in this competition and has not impressed. How disapointed I am at this result will be determined by the draw for the next round ! -
Fully agree with the English Cup idea and have said the same myself although perhaps the other home Nations players could be included. To win such a Cup would mean something to the fans although our best English players might still be rested ? The problem last night was the lack of a central striker in Lamberts absence was highlighted again. Forte was totally ineffective - oh to have the likes of Jay- Rod for such matches etc. Good support last night but without changes the "League Cup" will become the JPT for top 2 tiers. Foreign players have the Champions league/ FA Cup etc so I cannot see that they would be bothered either way.
-
Nothing wrong with the level of support or the volume. There were times in the second half where we were in cruise control and leading a LG2 team by 2-0 isnot likely to inspire fervent support. It picked up again when it needed to and NA & the players were appreciative afterwards.

Pleasing on the eye in both versions. It is different without being "wacky". Slightly prefer the short sleeved.

I think this has to be viewed in the light of Howe stating what a massive club Burnley (are) when he took over and how he couldnot possibly turn them down. I totally agree with the sentiments of whelk and will also enjoy the stick that Ian Holloway will get when Blackpool ( Prem league your having a laugh !! ) visits St Marys. Its not bitterness its just a reality check for them.
-
What I won't miss is ;- 1/ Sky Sports news going to an ad break before they show the L1 tables then going back to the Prem again when they resume. 2/ Having to explain to non footie fans what league we are in. 3/ Being the away team's "Cup Final". 4/ Rds 1 & 2 of the FA Cup 5/ Rd 1 & 2 (?) of the League Cup/ equivalent. 6/ The JPT - ok it gave us one great year, but do we really want to be a Carlisle Utd ?
-
Poyet had a chip on his shoulder about us before the season began. When we were reputedly going to sign Calderon he was making remarks about us even then.

What's your very first memory of a Saints game?

Saints v Newcastle 1966/7. Jimmy Melia was getting merciless stick from the Milton end until he scored at that end and gave it large ! We won 2-0.
