One assumes that cost is based on us having to continue to pay the remainder of his new 3 year contract whilst he's on 'gardening leave'...? In which case, given how good Russ is, and how sought after he'd be if we were to 'let him go', then surely we wouldn't have to pay anywhere near £12M....?

Interesting, perhaps, that on several occasions he talks about the difference between his players beng "fit" and "Premier League fit".... maybe we've got too many players in the former category rather than the latter...?
