We weren't beaten by 3 or more goals today. And we won the previous league game. In fact, the last time we were beaten by 3 or more goals was 4th January. Apart from that, good point...

Bring back Ralph and let him have a punt with Dragan's money....

I'm at St.Mary's.... No, I've got no f***ing idea why either.... #woeful

Of course the squad was "pants"... But what you don't do with a "pants" squad is attempt to play a style of football that's more suited to players that are the opposite of "pants".... What you do do is try someone different, with the hope that he can squeeze more out the "pants" squad than the dogmatic previous guy.... It might achieve something , it might not.... but you won't know unless you try.... Call me old fashioned....

The annoying/sad thing is that, due to SR's hesitancy and ineptitude, we'll never know what might've happened had they acted decisively

Just seen the draw and hastily logged onto Saintsweb in anticipation of witnessing this very interaction (MLG is of course correct )

That's the beauty of "calling out" lots of things over the years... Every now and then one of them comes true....
-
I've no idea, but try reading further up the thread.... I was simply responding to someone who had seen posts from such people. Granted, might not be many people in the general scheme of things, of course.

Slot out! (Oops, sorry, wrong club... )

Missing my point.... Where did I say people weren't entitled to criticise Juric in the same way people criticised Martin...? I was calling out those who say we should have kept Martin because the next guy turns out to be equally poor... #skewedlogic

Which is a bit like choosing between which chronic disease you'd prefer to have rather than wishing you were healthy....? (Better analogies no doubt available!)

Indeed. The intellectually challenged 'pat ourselves on the back' brigade don't seem to get that just because the replacement may turn out to as bad as the guy he replaced, it doesn't justify keeping the previous bad guy in the first place. Russell Martin was a "dog shit" manager in the PL and therefore had to go. If Juric turns out to be equally "dog shit" then he too will have to go. All quite simple really.

Name 3 posters who said this. I've got all night, so no rush.

When did anyone describe him and/or his football as "incredible"? Useful to know this in order to deduce whether your question has any validity. TIA 👍

Quite.... #rocketscience
-
A rather generous 2/10
-
Even more of a miracle he got them so high in the first place then.... #notbeingentirelyserioushere(justincasenotobvious) But one assumes we'd all kill for a manager who could finish 15th with 43 points with a bunch of mainly mediocre players...
-
Indeed. Some managers can, some managers can't.....
-
Probably something to do with FFP, or something...
-
It's almost as if there are several factors that determine outcomes; the players and manager to name but two....
-
I'm inclined to agree, but do you think any of our post-Ralph managers would have got that 2020/21 squad anywhere near the top of the premier league...? (Yes, I know I was (am) prone to blowing smoke up Ralph's arse, but even he ran out of steam/ideas in the end and had to go)
-
If it's possible to get a fairly ordinary bunch of players to the top of the premier league (line-up when that happened below) surely there's a manager out there that could've got more than 9 points from 24 games out the current bunch of mediocre players...?
-
This. No-one has ever claimed the players are anything but sub-standard (for the PL). Doesn't mean the manager(s) can't be crap too. It's not mutually exclusive (as certain posters would like you to believe...)
