  1. I usually let spelling mistakes go, but that is the best spelling of definitely I have ever seen! (Unless you were defiantly seeing things - I'm not sure how that would work though)
  2. From a business perspective I would say Dean Richards, in for free and out for £8million... Followed closely by Davies. Lambert helped a great deal in our promotion to the Championship which I imagine made SFC more than the £1.2million we spent on him. But it wasn't purely down to him. I would also add keeping hold of Matty when Spurs came in for him - credit where it's due. If we had gone down any one of those early Prem seasons then who's to say that we would not have ended up as a lower league 1 team still at the Dell? But then again, who's to say something amazing could have happened and we'd be in the Champions League now?! - I'm going to lie down, I've confused myself.
  3. Agree with Prutton, think we spent £2.5 million on him. Was touted as a possible future captain for England (did he captain the U21s?) Started ok, had a good work ethic, then got sent off for that push and never really came back from there. Also, Saga. Looked quality when on loan (8 goals in 10 or something?), thought he'd score a sack load in the championship when we signed him... But no. Also agree with Hirst, Ripley, Hughes, McCann, BWP and finally Michael Svensson (just kidding - but he never got Player of the Season - according to Wiki, which surprises me a little) Here's the list: 1993-94 Matthew Le Tissier 1994-95 Matthew Le Tissier 1995-96 Dave Beasant 1996-97 Egil Østenstad 1997-98 Paul Jones 1998-99 James Beattie 1999-00 Dean Richards 2000-01 Wayne Bridge 2001-02 Chris Marsden 2002-03 James Beattie 2003-04 Antti Niemi 2004-05 Peter Crouch 2005-06 Claus Lundekvam 2006-07 Chris Baird 2007-08 Andrew Davies 2008-09 Kelvin Davis 2009–10 Rickie Lambert 2010-11 Jose Fonte We seem to value keepers as fans. Flowers won it 91/92 and 92/93. Anyway, back on topic...

He used to moan about the Skacel signing joke, with good reason. Almost as bad as: Poster1: 'We're signing Owen' Poster2: 'Source?' Poster3: 'Ketchup' But then fell by the same sword by making continuous sarcastic comments about the general love-in for Cortese, which got boring (for me anyway). Better than most on here though like others have said, and the forum has gone downhill a bit but I think the mods do a pretty good job tbh, keeping everyone happy isn't possible. Not sure what can be done to improve it, I think a post limit for all would help. A certain few posters, we all know who, are killing threads with continuous crap. Well aware that this could spoil some threads though, matchdays for example.
  5. You're a ****ing joke mate.
  6. So 3rd then?!
  7. Was taught by my instructor (8ish years ago) that if the hazard is far enough ahead and there are no problems with oncoming traffic that no, you don't have to indicate to pass around it. Also, you don't need to indicate for filter lanes although most seem to. My instructor was a mug though.
  8. Yyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!
  9. A slow start to the thread... But I'm willing to have a go at motorists - Anyone care to add to the list? There are many more I'm sure... 1. People who don't use the left lane on the motorway. 2. People who can't judge the width of their car, wait for you to drive through a 'narrow' area and then expect a thank you. 3. People who rag it on the motorway/dual carriageway and then more or less stop on country roads (happens a lot in Devon). 4. People who drive down the middle of country lanes and prevent (what would be) safe overtaking. 5. People who can't anticipate other road users, particularly when overtaking on the motorway. 6. HGV drivers who decide to overtake on a hill. 7. People who can't park. 8. People who tailgate when you're in a queue of cars. 9. People who give way to you when they shouldn't, even though there is a clear road behind their car (perhaps being a little bit fussy with this one, I accept) Feel free to critique me, but I've not had an accident yet and have been driving for years, nor have I caused any. I'm a pretty safe driver who doesn't break the speed limit more than the average either.
  10. Forgive me for being an innernet hermit but do you need to download anything to watch these streamed sites?
  11. Physics says no.
  12. Not sure whether they were 'decent first-team coaches' in the first place, I'm sure some on here will have a view, but Wigley and Gray weren't all that good! Suspect there are many more you could add... Brian Kidd at Blackburn didn't step up too well. Haven't answered the question at all have I. Were Mourinho/Adkins (very similar imo!) coaches between their physio and management days?
  13. Aware and... Lazy. Think it was on page 846 last time I checked!
  14. Agree it is almost a carbon copy of our '5 year plan' Any chance someone could explain to me where pompey are financially tho? When were they/or are they out of **** creek?
  15. I don't get it. I also don't like my one but hey... Recently (last year) when watching West Ham vs Chelsea one of the hammers fans who had a stammer started shouting at the keeper when he was about to take a goal kick. I hate you Cech...Cech naaaaaaaaaa....
  16. Salako on skysportsnews is 'waxing lyrical' about us. I've never really understood that phrase, but I think I'm right!
  17. Not a big fan of the 'Chinese, Americans, Australians' etc. being worse than us so why should we care argument (post above is not the only one to have mentioned it). It is irrelevant in my mind. Yes, they will continue to churn out CO2 and all the other nasties and yes they will profit financially by doing so. Back in the day the industrial revolution was set off here, we started it so why shouldn't we start the next major movement? Green technologies and as in the quote above, adaptive approaches. If we develop the way forward we could benefit financially by selling these new techniques on - not the most important thing, but a possible benefit.
  18. Didn't look great from the Chapel to be honest! On another day...etc. I think a yellow was fair though - he hadn't done anything card worthy til then.

    De Ridder

Perhaps I've got funny eyes but to me his late challenge just before the yellow looked like a bit of a stamp to me (a light one I admit). He doesn't seem the sort to do that, I hope he isn't, never a fan of anyone who does that - Chappers scares me sometimes too! On another rubbish ref day his yellow could have been red, at least that's how I saw it with aforementioned funny eyes.
  20. I thought we called nabbot, Newton armpit?! Anyway, recommend haytor, canonteign, becky falls, south hams and not Torquay.
  21. I was going to try, but then saw you had put 'most' in there and so can't. Not sure what the general view in Christchurch is - probably see as many Saints shirts as B'mouth ones around though. I live in Exeter now so why I comment I don't know... Also, weirdly, (and I suppose you only remember the ones you want to) the only football shirts I saw in Monza, Italy for the F1 Grand Prix were those of Southampton supporters. We're everywhere.
  22. It's a tough one. I don't really rate Pardew as a manager. Bought in some great players I admit, but not sure about his tactics. Really frustrated me with his subbing! That said, amazed by the toons current league position considering their squad. Inclined to agree with the 'flash in the pan' theory, can't see them making top 10 by the end of the season. Nigel is my hero anyway.
  23. Interestingly I had a dance from an Eastern woman in Weston once. She beat me up with her boobs - was pretty much assault. Was awesome.
  24. Puts it into context really, the money in football is ridiculous. Cortese seems to be doing a decent job of steering us to the top of the Championship (hopefully) and maybe into the Prem (hopefully) I don't believe any one of our players will have as much influence in us achieving this than Cortese.
  25. I can't tell if this is tongue in cheek or not. I'm not sure that you would get an A in English though.
