stewards have no authority. they are there to show you to your seat, make sure you don't stray into areas you shouldn't and basically point out toilets, exits and general safety points. they have absolutely no authority whatsoever. sadly they seem to have gotten well above their station over the recent years. unfortunately this poor, over excited woman has been caught on video committing common assault. sorry, but she should be sacked.

Quite right St. Jason, it isn't the law. Football league rules clearly state standing is permitted during states of excitement. I go to football because of the excitement. Who's to tell me when i am or am not excited. Therefore i believe i have the right to stand as and when i feel. The situation is exactly the same in the Itchen North. The back three or four rows all like to stand - obscuring nobody's view, and yet all match we are harangued by stewards which creates tension.It is extremely tedious and really gets peoples backs up. Especially as away fans are clearly permitted to stand throughout the duration. Every other club in the country suffocates the away fans thus giving home teams advantage - all except good old Saints who still take fans for granted despite what we've been through. Sorry to sound dramatic but this issue really grinds my gears!

i totally disagree with the OP. Booing (at the end of the game, granted), should actually help the players cos it rams home just what we thought of their lackadaisical efforts. What i don't understand is when people defend the players even when they've totally let themselves and us down. Why? I can't believe people are that gutless.

St Will is obviously the type of person that tips after a rubbish meal in a restaurant. The support during the game was excellent yesterday and that still didn't prompt the poor little darlings on the pitch to pull their socks up. Fans have every right to express their dissatisfaction after the game. It might give the over privileged nancy's something to think about.

If i get enough interest i want to try to get them done before Saturday... I'm getting prices together at the moment but the idea is to do a limited run of 100 shirts per design and get them printed on decent t-shirts (not the normal crappy quality).
