Yeah, and I see Kevin Gibbens scored for Sholing yesterday; add him to the list.

But it's not just about this season either is it? Yes promotion is the priority, but building a squad, and style/pattern which will see us succeed next year is also important. We don't want to have to start again next year, whichever division we're in. Whatever the result on Tuesday, it won't define our season. It's overall consistency that counts. I fully expect us to go on simillar runs to the last 8 games, peppered by the odd defeat there and there.

My guess is that he didn't want to play second fiddle to a 17yo. We have the better end of it imo.

Fair enough.

True, he then re-enlisted in the Army and saw service on the Western Front. That is the mark of the man. Can you imagine any of our leaders today (of whatever persuasion) doing that? He was without doubt a flawed character, but he was a man of his time, at the right time, thank goodness. Your petty character assassination is, frankly, embarrassing.

You need a degree of physical presence to play centre mid. OG was played on the wing, as is Chambo right now even though he (Chambo) says he plays centre mid. Very few youngsters have the presence to play there, which is why, whatever his faults, people need to cut Morgan some slack. Gievn his age and experience to cut it there has he has speaks volumes.

Please re-read pages 1-708, the answer's in there.

Don't be ridiculous.

Does anyone think we wouldn't have played 4-5-1 for this game under Pardew? It wasn't the tactics by the sounds of it, but the execution.

Sadly for true Pompey fans I don't think we're at the edn of this saga. Not even the beginning of the end. Perhaps the end of the beginning. With tax evasion charges still to be brought, and Stories admission that it was Daddy Gayboys money after all, and now this; there's plenty of mileage left yet. We know the administration was out of funds last month, so Chinnery must be funding them to the end of the season as their gate receipts can't cover outgoings. January will be interesting.

Good luck to him, although surely we can all agree that Wotton out and Chaplow in strengthens the squad?

You're right, commercially it makes complete sense. Just as it would in Manchster, North London, Sheffield, Liverpool, Birmingham etc etc. Whether it will ever happen is another matter.

The Spending Review (tackling the Socialists debt mountain)
Faz replied to dune's topic in The Lounge
But this dispute isn't about cutbacks is it? It's about the employers right to decide what shift pattern is needed. They curently work 2 x 9 hour day shifts, and 2 x 15 hour night shifts. 48 hrs. The employer wants 2 x 12 hour day shifts, and 2 x 12 hour night shifts. 48 hrs. -
