  1. Not true - zero rating on food and kids cloths etc. High earners spend more so end up paying more tax. Abolish inocme tax and just have a spending tax. It would also encourage more saving, which we desperately need to happen. I don't expect anyone to feel sorry for the banks, but on the one hand they're being told to improve their Tier 1 capital rations, and on the other being told to increase lending. They can't raise capital on the markets in the current climate, and so reducing the asset book to bring Tier 1 capital into line is the only real option. Thems the facts.
  2. If we pay £3m, does our Academy get anything for developing him?
  3. Is that you Ben?
  4. So, is he saying; Suarez moved to a new Country and learned the native equivalent of his hispanic racist phrases so he could use them innocently in a football match?
  5. He might not be as obsessed as some on here
  6. Thankfully that's not the case.
  7. If you'd been a Villa for the cup game, you'd understand why he had to go.
  8. I'm starting to think you don't like NC at all.
  9. Tell him I'll look after his ticket, he can look after the kid.
  10. Yep, no tough games there........apart from Peterborough, Brighton, Blackpool, Pompey & Palace. And everyone else trying to knock us off our perch.
  11. Now you've started it
  12. People should stop inferring Cortese is this that or the other based upon hearsay and tittle tattle. Just leave it.

    West Ham build up

Without their strong Away record, West Ham would be nowhere near us. I agree, a Draw is the most likely outcome!
  14. The only one of their players I'd take is Nolan. Fact.

    Foam hands

You could try "pimping" them up with spray paint. Depending upon the quality of the foam it cam have a very "artistic" effect. Are you "artistic" Mr Turkey?

Did you notice if he paid for his own ticket?
  18. He can't be an ex-Saint, can he? Not for a while yet anyway. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=51.074303,-1.312032
  19. I may have missed it in all the hullaballoo, but have ex-Saints actually said anything? Or is this all completely unsubstantiated, hate filled, agenda driven nonsense?
  20. Not saying whether right or wrong, but the justification will be: 1. Saints already have charities which they officially support. 2. Saints have no control over the administration of this Charity. If it transpires that most of the income gets taken up with "costs", they won't want the fall out. I guess there could be no objection to a "Francis Benali" Eleven v Eastleigh or such like.
  21. I really do wonder if this is getting any airtime at all outside the somewhat restricted confines of this site??? Anyway, my take: 1. Cortese is Niaive when it come sto the media, and should keep a PR man on call 2. The Article did not say MLT wanted freebies. 3. The Sun have probably, very cleverly, stitched Cortese up in the way the piece has been written. 4. Jeff Stelling is an entertainer looking to keep the ratings for his show (which I can't stand) as high as possible to guarantee him as many bucks as possible 5. Everyone (including MLT) has an agenda. 6. We will never know the truth 7. No-one deserves a free ride for life, and there was clearly a culture of free-riding at the Club in the past. 8. We went bust. QED Operating costs were higher than income. 9. There are far more important things in life to concern us all.
  22. Who decides who is a legend and gets free tickets for life, and who doesnt? Is it 10 games or 110 that qualifies? Lest anyone needs reminding Mr Stelling, Saints went bust just 2 years ago. Freebies my Arse. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=50.795265,-1.108361
  23. This is why God invented Google
  24. Ah, life in monochrome.
  25. You don't necessarily sell an investment just because you can make a profit. It depends what your investment strategy is. Arguably the return on the circa £15m investment could be enormous if the club is properly run in the Premier League. Of course they could get an offer which allows them to re-invest the proceeds for a greater return elsewhere. That's business.
