All goalkeepers make mistakes that lead to goals. HTH

I've just got back to work after the Xmas break and need re-training on everything. I hope my boss is more forgiving than you lot.
  3. A polite request: please do not quote Alpine in your posts. Thank you.
  4. Win for us. If not, then a draw will do. If not then look after the goal difference please.
  5. That has got to hurt. Scummah who hasn't (despite his pedigree) been able to find a club since the end of last season. How many games has he played in the last 2 years? I liked him, but I guess it shows how desperate things are down the road.
  6. 5ft 5.5ins. Really? Even Sian the lineswoman would dwarf him.
  7. I wonder if, by default, we yesterday discovered a way of playing away from home which may reap dividends? We will certainly need some away wins in the 2nd half of the season.
  8. They can't afford him.
  9. Why is nobody saying it was J-Rod's miss? Ricky but him through and all he had to do was slide it past the keeper. He had more time. I'm not looking for scape-goats, sh1t happens.
  10. Buckley not starting, not on the bench for Brighton.
  11. Usual response from the usual depressives. Man up. A point is a point. On to the next.
  12. I'm with you. Bed-wetters.
  13. A great opportunity to show he depth in he squad. J-rod to step up to the plate today.
  14. I'd be really interested to know what makes you think that. Has he even hinted at that? BTW I see you've decided to completely ignore our forays (successful or otherwise) in other leagues.
  15. All true, but these are aspirations. There's nothing wrong with setting aspirational targets. I don't know, but there is a lot of noise about having a clear pathway for youth players through to the first team, so I wouldn't be surprised if a certain number of the match day squads have to be Academy products.
  16. An average of a point a game from those 5 fixtures wouldn't be worrying at all. It would probably see us above Villa and Wigan. So long as we finish above either of those two we will be safe IMO.
  17. I entirely accept that we might have feelers out for a number of players. Some we get, and some we don't. I don't believe that to be any different to any other club. It must be difficult to get an established PL player to move to a newly promoted club, accept a contract that includes a relegation clause etc etc. I don't believe Adkins would agree a deal for a player. He will undoubtedly have a huge hand in identifying targets, and Huth could well have been one of many.
  18. Dear lydlinch I've been reviewing your posts and can honestly say you haven't got a single thing right all season.
  19. Yep. We need to do a "Spain" and play without a striker. Although reading some comment on here some think we have been anyway. Gazza Clyne Fonte Yoshida Shaw Puncheon Mayuka Davis Cork JWP SDR So long as we don't concede a corner, or a throw inside our own half, we'll be fine.
  20. Predictable.......and tiresome.
  21. Ahhhh, plucky plucky Pompey. It's not fair that everyone treats a visit to Fatpipes like a cip final. We never had to cope with that. No, not ever. And we'll done to the plucky 12,000 Pompey fans who turned up to stem the losses of the plucky HNWIs.
  22. The lack of footballing nouse on this thread is, frankly, astounding.
  23. I see plucky 33 years old John Harley has been slumming it at Champneys whilst on his month to month contract with plucky Pompey. That's just another £1000pw on top of his lowly paid L2 salary. It turns out the plucky former Chelsea man is prepared to haul his plucky arse around the football pitch for another 6 months on a temporary contract whilst his plucky family slum it in Liverpool.

    Luke shaw class

I get the sense that he's still playing within himself, especially going forward. It's always difficult to compare players, but the temptation to do so with Bale & Bridge is tempting. We were watching Bale in the Championship, but he still had class by the bag full. Bridge was always the better defensively. I see Luke as an enticing combination of the two. BTW I don't see what he could have done to stop Fletcher except be on the wrong side, which would have been wrong. The genesis of that goal was down our right flank.
  25. As I've posted previously, it can be a conditional exchange of contracts. Time will indeed tell.
