Actually there were plenty on here saying he wasn't up to it. It was in the real world of fans who go to games that he got his backing. I wouldn't take too much notice of all the faux emotion on here around his sacking either.

If, and I accept this is a big "if", NA had lost the next three gaems and we were back in the bottom three, how many people would be castigating NC for not taking action earlier? NA's job, so far as I read it, was to get us to the PL. He alluded to it after Coventry. He completed his project at least a year early, and was given a chance in the PL. After our summer spend, NC wanted more I guess. Throughout football, in all countries, managers come and go with the possible exception of three in the PL; most go with fans on their back and the media heaping pressure. NA goes with his reputation and honour in tact, and the PL on his CV. I'm grateful, and I wish him well; he will walk in to a fantastic job at a big NPC club like Leeds or Leicester. But, as MP said, now we move on to the next project.

It seems NC was right; NA was worse than Merrington FFS:

If anything is guaranteed to take the heat off NC on this board, its a SISA rep being wheeled out to represent the fans. Wouldn't be surprised if The Don was handing out their contact details at the Press Conference.

Do shut up. There's been hardly any loyalty in professional footbal, at least not for the best part of a century. Just convenience and money. If this bloke plays well for 6 months and gets tapped up by Inter, he'll be off straight away.

Lost a manager. Gained a manager and a CB.

So I read NA was linked to Blackpool some weeks ago. Appleton goes to Blackburn with no fuss from Blackpool.......... Curiouser and curiouser.
-
....his job was to get us up, and then make way in due course? It might put his comments on Promotion Day last season in to some sort of context??

And close to the 1st anniversary of the Administration. Hmmmm.

So their grand plan to create a sutainable business model starts with £3m of debt they probably can't service.

Possibly, possibly not. Some things should be left to the reader's imagination.

The sub-text is clearly about whether JR dived to get an advantage. I don't think he did, any more than Mata did. Perfectly valid in the context of the thread. My view, as you ask, is that he pulled his foot away in anticipation of a challenge that was coming from a long way off, and that caused him to go down. I guess a lot would be happier if he'd dangled his leg and waited for the inevitable contact. Personally I inhabit a world which consists of shades of grey (if I can still say that); most things are not black or white.

It also tells us that any team with more than 20 points didn't go down, so I take comfort from the fact we are as safe as Man Utd.
-
Just watching MoTD, and Shearer commenting on the Chelsea penalty. Mata went down, not touched by Shawcross, and Shearer says he doesn't think it's a penalty. No uproar over that then?
-
League Table after 22 games last season: Bolton went down on 36 points. Villa have amassed 30 points from their last 38 league games. QPR 31. Wigan gained 28 points in their last 16 of last season. 37 points in their last 38 PL games. No idea what it all tells us.

What ever the opuinions on here, I'm just more comfortable with him in goal than the other two. He dominates because of his size, and probably personality. I can't quantify it, but I just sense that our defence feels the same.
-
According to the MoTD stats, he completed every tackle he attempted. Pretty much what you would like your right back to have somewhere near the top of his agenda.
-
It wasn't that dramatic, get over yourself.
-
He didn't dive. HTH

Can we please mobilise our New Forest Hotel spy network?

Some people are way too sensitive. Football chants can't hurt you.

If Boruc can recapture his form/confidence, he is clearly good enough. His record suggests that. NA has stated in public that his form on the training ground is what got him selected, lets hope his confidence improves as I don't think we will be looking elsewhere.

Woe is us, woe is us. Chill pill people.

He's definitely young, and almost certain to improve.
