The football world is full of managers who can't/won't take a new job until they've sorted out compensation on the previous one. Nige will probably agree a compromise - doubtless there has already been some exchange, but no agreement. I imagine, going on reputation, NC is playing hardball; he knows Leeds want Nige, so will sit and wait. Where is the £2m-£2.5m PKF fees coming from? Who is paying all the court costs? What about Baloo's mysterious £2m that PKF forgot about? They need £3.88m on day 1 (£3.12m for FP, £0.76m for the CVA). They have funds of £3.87m. They're already short with no income until August. How will that be funded? Just a few of the questions I would be asking as a Councillor elected to look after the interests of my constituents.

I'm not seeing PKF's fees of circa £2m-£2.5m, legal costs and disbursements (which must be pretty hefty by now) nor the mysterious Chinny £2m which PKF forgot about.

Can I first of all salute them for raising £1.3m from the fans. That is a pretty decent achievement in all the circumstances. Apart from that they've failed to meet any of the pre-conditions laid out for the loan, but the council look set to approve it anyway. Unless some of them are prepared to ask whether the risk is justified. And a piece of land that size, even allowing for demolition, is going to sell for between £4m and £5m. Didn't The Dell sell for £5m, and I can't think the contamination issues would have been any worse.

So the Council are planning to lend £1.45m for which they will take, as security, a piece of land which their own valuer reckons is worth £100k, and at best £800k. If they should need to take possession, they become responsible for all the possible contamination the report refers to. No risk there, no siree.

The Council loan, and PDT bid is pretty much irrelevent if the PFA don't like the fact that the Council and Robinson will get paid first from the Parachute Payments. There simply isn't enough money to pay everyone what they want.
