Not only do we now have depth, but plenty of options to change the formation etc. I enjoyed last season under Poch, but the last time we had a manager with the real ability to change games at half-time was Hoddle. I think Koeman has the ability and the squad to be able to do that.

If you listen to Ron's post match interview on Solent, he wanted to bring Gaston on earlier, and would have done so if we'd got the 2nd earlier in the half; however, he'd already used two subs and was wary of using the third in case ET was needed. Don't think Gaston is far off being ready.

I think we also need to understand that he might be appearing to be static because that's what Ron wants him to do. Last season we saw SRL pulling out wide or dropping deep, because those were his instructions. It might not just be Pelle getting used to the EPL, but also Ron and his team developing their style for dealing with it. It's clear as a pike staff stat a static CF is going to have PL centre backs crawling all over him, and they will swin the majority of the arial duels because all good CBs do. Let's just see how it develops.
