Skacel and Sagnowski CAN be good players. IMO its not their ability thats in doubt but their mentality. They go off the boil too easily and produce little for weeks on end - and we cant afford that kind of inconsistency. You might work on that with a young developing player on low wages, but if its still happening to players earning £8,000pw plus in their late 20s its time to let them go.

Derby have 13 new players since last season. Their track record over the past year is now irrelevant. They have a very good loan from Arsenal and made some other good signings. If they happen to gel today and thrash us - its not the end of the world. If we win by three - it doesnt mean were going up. Lets just hope for a good match and a point.

I'd much rather keep Davis than Surman. £ for £ I think the goalkeeper is the most important player on the pitch. No-one else wins or loses you games like a good /bad goalkeeper does.

Of course it isnt easy. We proved that last season with experienced and expensive players. This is a quality signing. Hopefully if he does well and we offload Saga and Rasiak in January we can convert it into a season long loan.

IF Rasiak and Saga sign for their loan clubs in January AND attendances average around 22,000 AND Surman signs for £2.5m AND we can get shot of Euell and Skacel I think we'll be okay for this season. If any of those dont happen I reckon were still in trouble.
