  1. Thats whats worrying me. Maybe he did go for football, but I cant help thinking he wanted out for some other reason.
  2. Regardless of the rights and wrongs of what has gone on previously, all the main participants in this farce should learn to, in legal terms 'shut the **** up'. Verbal brawling and sniping at each other in any public meeting, let alone at the AGM does absolutely nothing for the club which they profess to care about. No prospective investor in his right mind would go near the club at the moment, not until there is some semblance of unity and shared purpose. JP has my deepest sympathies.
  3. I'm surprised Avram Grant is still unemployed. Did a good job at Chelsea.
  4. They could sell them to the open market as part of a rights issue, offer them to specific external investors (like Barclays did with the Middle East sovereign funds recently), create a share option package for staff /directors or even to fund an all share take over of another company (unlikely I know). ps. Seeking this kind of authority is pretty routine annual occurrence at most companies. It means the directors have the authority to act if something comes up. It doesnt necessarily mean something is brewing.
  5. When posting crap rumours it helps to get the players name right.
  6. No they dont go to Lowe or Cowan or any other shareholder. The authority basically allows the directors to use the shares in the interests of the company - including a rights issue.
  7. 1 Wrong 2 Wrong 3 Thank God
  8. So hes right then. You have no idea of the real reason.
  9. I smoke and think the law is too strict. IMO there should be segregated areas for those wishing to smoke. That said it is government law and its not unreasonable for fans to wait a couple of hours.
  10. A lot of these cases will almostly certainly fail if they come to court. Often the litigants rely on being able to extort an out of court payment out of a company deperate to avoid the costs and bad publicity a case will bring, even if they win.
  11. Dont bother with the re-writing history ******** Alpine. I, and I suspect most other posters remember the parade of excuses (sorry valid in your own conciousness reasons) you used to trot out for not going.
  12. Dont worry about it. The same knobs wrote off Schneiderlin and Holmes as someone elses rejects.
  13. The young inexperienced players wont be as young and inexperienced by one full season and some of the high paid players will have gone -freeing up a bit of money for new faces. If we survive this year I'd actually be quite optimistic about next season.
  14. Agree with most of that. Some fan's antipathy to Lowe seems to have spilled over into feeling its fair game to have a pop at anything to do with the club - the smoking at games and the Robertson car crash report on the OS being just two recently. Enforcing the law and unintentional errors on the OS will always happen, regardless of whether Lowe, Ted Bates or the Archbishop of Canterbury was Chairman. Some posters need to get more perpective, or find some other pursuit that doesnt induce so much bile.
  15. Thats it in a nutshell. Its now illegal to smoke in a public building and if Saints dont enforce the ban they can be fined or worse. Direct your complaint to the government, not the club.
  16. I'd be happy with any or all of that.
  17. Not that much -about £20,000 I think. Nothing to suggest he is on big money.
  18. Have a banana on me.
  19. Your posts would be improved by a few more adjectives. Plain 'Judas snake Wilde' doesnt sufficiently show the casual reader the quality of your thinking. However, TBF, stating that it would have been better to go into administration in 2008 does give some broad clues.
  20. Thing is tho, both Spurs and Blackburn had quality sides who had been underperforming. Getting them back to playing to their potential shouldnt (and wasnt apprently) that difficult. We by contrast have a squad which, if anything, is playing to its full potential a lot of the time. Its just that we lack quality in major parts of the team, especially upfront.
  21. I dont think JP is most of the problem, its the lack of resources he has to work with. We'd need an outstanding coach or wheeler dealer to make much difference and I dont see Ince or the other names touted as fitting that bill.
  22. Ive got Sky, dont think I can get Setanta on it.
  23. Okay cheers. Never used it before.
  24. How much do we get from Setanta? Is it based on the numbers paying per view?
  25. I would have given Mickey Adams a chance too. But now we have JP there is absolutely no point changing managers mid season unless we know we could attract someone outstanding. None of the usual suspects thanks.
